Matthew..

Corny as this sounds, you were a joy to have in the competition. You made me laugh, and sometimes I kinda cried with you. What I mean is that you were really there, all the time, always bringing a bit of reality to the contest. You went from some commonly seen name on the messageboard to someone I could relate to.

I hope you don't give up! Maybe this wasn't the time, but I'm a "Work-In-Progress" guy. I think you got the stuff.

Commiserations.
If you do post your Round 5 submission on the boards and I see it, I will be happy to give it the same examination I give the regular top 4.

If I do, it will be after the voting is over. Don't want to step on toes. Thank you though,

I don't suppose it's much comfort, but I am sorry you didn't make it. You were the one who rallied the most to stay in despite the odds (to me). You kept showing a combination of technical savy with interesting ideas. I thought that might carry you all the way, but I'll admit that the Winery seemed to lack that interest.

I was willing to overlook the map's issues (and now that I know the story - moreso), and focus on the content. The idea was creative, and the location seemed "right-on" with a Golarion setting. However, the encounter and monster just didn't set well, and it just lacked that quality of your other submissions. I wish you the best of luck with future endeavors.

Hey Matthew, I wanted to congratulate you on your efforts and commiserate about the mapping issues. I was up at about 4 am that round, fervently hoping that I could get in to work to use the scanner there to scan my map in properly. I like your attention to detail; your caltrop golem is a great example of that. The heat/chill metal, hazardous damage, little things like that really improved my feeling for the monster. I can see lots of those attentive details in all your entries. Keep writing and submitting and I know that you will get your name out there.
