Amar:
Amar means 'immortal', or 'one who is immortal' In Hindi.

Zedas:
Zedas means 'knowledge' in Sanskit, athough this is only one of many definitions for knowledge in that language.

Congrats Matt!

I loved the old-school feel of your map. Mixing some ancient tomb vibe with Nex and Geb themes was a great idea, I thought. I was worried that thr bad rep that had been developing around the Ossuary Golem and your encounter presentation would bring your submission down. Looks like that fear was unfounded.

Good luck with your adventure submission! Be curious to see if involves a return to the Lost Ziggurat.

Congrats on making the final 4, Matt. I really liked your ziggurat, and you got my vote. I'm looking forward to your adventure proposal.

Congrats Matt! Luckily my stuck door comment didn't influence the voters. Good luck with your adventure proposal.

Thanks everyone. I'll definitely be posting answers to any questions people have, but at the moment, I am striking while the iron is hot and throwing words on the page. The adrenalin certainly is still pumping.

Why did I make it such a simple encounter? Yes, it really hurt my entry but I was worried about killing PCs. The R3 Ossuary is way overpowered, which is why I didn't ramp up the encounter with say, shadows coming out of burial urns to attack at the same time (and get healed by the neg energy blasts).

For me, that's exactly what you should have done. That would have been the second most interesting encounter of the round. Besides, how do you know what level the party is? If you set up a CR10 encounter here with shadows and the ossuary, that just means that the party's expected to be at least seventh level, rather than a 5th level party over their heads.

Hmm. Apparently you blew sufficient people away with the visuals, both figurative and literal, to make the top 4. Congratulations. Now comes the tricky part - the adventure proposal. :)

Hey, Matt...

You've got an eye for detail that I really appreciate. Keep bringing the awesome stuff in your adventure proposal. I'm really looking forward to what you pitch.

Best of luck,

What's funny is that though the translations of Amar and Zedas make the title really pop, to the uninitiated it keeps evoking Amadeus, which just seems silly.

It's not just the cool thought out name, but what it sounds like that matters.

Oh lord. Now I've got it stuck in my head.

Amar Zedas, Amar Zedas
Oh, oh oh-oh
Amar Zedas, Amar Zedas
Oh, oh oh-oh
Amar Zedas, Amar Zedas
Rock me Amar Zedas

Gonna have that damn ossuary golem after me, I think.

Don't be silly. Everyone knows the song is "Asmo-deus," not "Amar Zedas." It's a Chelish rock opera.

Thanks Roguerouge, that is good advice, sometimes I get caught up in the detail and forget to look back at the big picture.
