Wat Dagon

Savage Tide Adventure Path

Being an ancient temple of power dedicated to Dagon and now Demogorgon, Wat Dagon must truly be an imposing structure. How do you propose I describe it to PCs for them to truly understand where are they now?

Or if someone has a picture they used for representation, that'd be helpful, too.

I don't have a description of Dagon in front of me, but I do know he is a very hideous, Insanity-inpsiring (literally) combination of sea critters. I would definitely play up the Lovecraftian aspects of Dagon's visage in the architecture and 'feel'. Also, since it's really its own demi-layer of the abyss, applying Abyssal morphology might provide some interest.

The later issues of Dragon magazine had a series of lengthy articles on several prominent Abyssal residents and powers, including Dagon, that might provide useful informatino. IIRC they had Demonomicon in their titles.

H. R. Giger's Necronomicon may be inspiring, or the Giger bar in Tokyo. Or definitely his sets for Alien. Think of where the Nostromo crew found the first eggs. Skeletal arches, creepy, shadowy vaults...

On the other hand, the word Wat could be a clue to the inspiration - and conical towers are certainly present at Angkor Wat in Cambodia.
