You guys have done a great job so far making this a fun and exciting contest! I wanted to say Congratulations to every one of you that made the top eight, and I look forward to reading your locations.

Congratulations! The next round looks like a lot of fun, and I can't wait to see your entries.

I'll add my two-cents and offer congratulations to the Top 8 as well. Everyone I voted for made it through...which is surprising, but cool. I also noticed an intact phenomenon perpetuated from last year. Only one of any single rendition of a particular monster made it through to the next round (i.e., whoever the public perceived as doing the best job with it). And, the exit polls were off by one Top 8 vote-getter this year.

Congratulations Top 8!

I was pleased to see that most of my vote-getters got in. :)

Looking forward to your Golarion maps/encounters. Should be a fun round.

Best Regards,

Congratulations guys! Ive been a bit out of the picture (sick, extra work, family stuff) but all my votes counted - hurrah!

This is a fantastic round! Oh, I wish I'd been in it! I've got a wicked encounter that my players are still talking about that would have been great fun to tweak. (Don't we all.)

Next year! Next year...

Can't wait to see what you 8 geniusseses produce this time!

Yea, I would have had some great encounter ideas too. The tricky part would be coming up with a wider location, and making the whole location seem awesome.

It's quite tempting to design your location as merely a sparse framework for your encounter. However, I think that the winners this round will be the locations that just burst at the seems with potential coolness. The ones that make the voters think, "This encounter kicks ass, and this place makes me feel like every encounter there will kick as much ass as this one."

Back when we were speculating there was a lot of talk of "city rounds"; I wonder if anyone will attempt to use a new city as their "location"?

Congrats, guys!

My only regret is that I bought too much graph paper. ;)

Indeed - grats to you all, and sorry but wait til next year for the 8 headed to the bench. Keep your chins up; you did good. Now cheer on the remainders and sharpen your pencils for 2011!

To the survivors: Keep bringing the awesome.

congrats top 8!
4 of the 6 guys i voted for made it in (and i'm sure we'll see Tom and Lief again next year).
I'm looking forward to see if my 4 guys can keep their momentum; but also to see if the other 4 can take monsters i thought were...not so great last round...and turn them into dynamite encounters.
good luck all.

Of my 8 favorite wondrous items, the authors of 6 have been eliminated. Jim Groves and Matthew McGee are the other two. They also provided the two most popular monster concept, judging by poles, and also both got Round 3 votes from me (though just barely). I think I know what locations I'll be reading first.

Presuming, of course, that I can delay the temptation to see what the heck Richard Hunt has come up with. I could see any of the top 8 making round 4, but that guy's a wildcard; my guess is he's either going to blow it or knock it right out of the park.

Congratulations! I look forward to seeing all of your wonderful maps!

Oh yea, and before I forget, this round is going to kick ass. I think we're going to have a lot of fun reading these. :)

"Design an encounter" and "design a country" were two of my favorite rounds from previous years. "Design a lair" got a little bogged down with room-by-room breakdowns (something less likely to happen here), but was still a lot of fun.

I just wanted to add my congratulations to the voices above. Thank you all, keep up the great work. I expect a serious chin-rub when it comes time to vote this time.

Hip hip, huzzah!!!

Congrats to one and all for their efforts, and to the Top 8 for their advancement!

Star Voter Season 9

Coming up with a full encounter and map in just three days sounds pretty nerve wrecking to me. I do envy the contestants for making it to round four, but I'm glad I won't have to go through all the stress they 'll be having this week. Good luck to you all!

Certainly didn't expect to be called out by name so soon, but thanks all the same. I shall endeavor to do my best, and hope not to let you or any of my fans down.

Great round, folks. I had lots of fun reading all the entries, and browsing through the top 8 entries is a trove of awesome, creative content. Keep up the amazing work! :D
