Does this Chelaxian feat work in conjunction with the Summoner's spell-like ability? The feat says: "Whenever you cast a spell..." and the class ability says, "a summoner can cast summon monster I as a spell-like ability...". Because they both say "cast", I'm thinking yes, but I wondered if there was anything posted on the boards clarifying this issue...

I can also cast a stone, or cast metal, or dice! Still won't give me the benefits of this feat ;-P

A spell-like ability is not a spell, which means that you usually don't get to apply abilities that apply to one to the other.

What does the feat do?

I think that's an interesting option but doesn't seem to follow directly from the rules. If that was the interpretation, it would be a solid gold feat for the summoner.

I think you'd need DM cooperation.
