Ug. Oof. Ahhh.... you got me. Or not. As zingers go, that one is really pathetic.

I guess if I was a good 'netizen of Paizo I should throw something of a hissy about you throwing personal attacks and give you the virtual cold shoulder from now on.

Well... I'm not one of the good guys.

Which is it? And which is buying an iPhone? Or selling one for that matter? And under what crazy code of morality is two free willed people exchanging cash for merchandise immoral?

Why are you asking me?

It sure as hell isn't my place to make judgments. The most I can do is provide all the information I can, and let others figure it out for themselves.

You didn't think... No. It isn't possible that an upstanding member of the Paizo forums would be that presumptuous about another poster. Only the undesirables do that.

Now we're brother-ladies.

Yet by posting one sided posts about one specific company you are demonstrating your opinion on the subject making your faux objectivity laughable.

I've gotten in these back-and-forths before and they tend to simply cycle round and round. In reading through your posts (0gre and Disenchanter), this tête-à-tête stands a greater likelihood of getting worse before it gets better. I recommend you guys declare a draw before the thread completely unravels.

Well, when you are done laughing, you could post links to articles that aren't as one sided.

BUT! They, can't, be, ones, I, have, already, linked.

Bonus points if they come from AP, BBC, The Register, or Wired.

After you post a few of those, I would feel less wrong about linking to the articles I didn't post because they were only taking shots at Apple.

((And if I really loved playing Word Games, you would think I would spend more time on that forum.))

So this is pretty cool. It is now legal to jailbreak phones.

Beat me to the punch. Wired article on the same thing.

Liberty's Edge

This is great news. With regard to iPhones, hopefully this will result in better more secure hacks.

With regard to videos on YouTube, we shouldn't see anymore compilation sets removed.

So does this mean schools no longer need to license the clips of films they show in classes? I know, wrong forum.

Consumer Reports can not recommend iPhone 4.

I have to say, with SJ's abuse of the word "magical", someone called Disenchanter zinging these out seems appropriate :-)

According to the Arstechnica article Scipion del Ferro linked, that exception was already in place.

Apple has another lawsuit against them for the iPad. This one is being pushed for "class action" status as well.

Any word on how that last one turned out for them? ....oh yeah....

Electronic devices that overheat when run in direct sunlight. Shocker! :P

As much as I support jailbreaking, keep this in mind. If you do it Apple has the legal right to void the warranty on your phone.

Apple's Response to new Exemptions

Though to be fair, most current jailbreaking is software only and if you restore the phone you're back to default software.

From what I can find on the 'net, the class action lawsuit for the iPhone 4 "defect" was only raised around a month ago.

The class action lawsuit against Apple and AT&T for the app store "monopoly" was only raised to class action status a coupe of weeks ago.

So it is a bit early to find out how it turned out.

Oh I know. Next thing you will see is a lawsuit that the iPad doesn't work underwater when a regular book does...

I think we need to sue book publishers for books not being legible without light.

Android Marketplace App that steals personal information.

Not sure on how much the Apple App store reduces information stealing/increases privacy versus the Android Marketplace, but logically you think it would reduce it. Not sure if a study has looked at it yet though.

Actually, it should be suit against Apple since the iPad works in the dark and a book doesn't. Thus further showing how the claim it works like a book is false.

Apples' work against information gathering/stealing is kind of fluid at the moment. After the outright ban on "analytics," they have lightened up a bit on information gathering...

None of which directly helps other avenues of information gathering. Such as the Safari bug that was just recently patched.

A significant number of apps - whether its Android, Apple, or others - have serious personal information issues.

iOS upgrade is charging O2 (UK) customers for roaming when they aren't.

This might not be limited to O2 customers, so keep an eye on your billing if you are using iOS 4.

iOS vulnerable. Those who read about the jailbreaking app probably aren't very surprised.

More info on the vulnerabilities.

iPhone 4 password cracking software already released.

Apple is testing the "generosity" of their app developers.

iPhone 4 hardware executive has left Apple.

EC joins FTC to investigate Apples' alleged anti-competitive actions.

Apple patches the holes that the jailbreak app uses.

Apple is trying to patent a "kill switch," that among other things targets Jailbroken devices. (Not to mention removal of the SIM card...)
