PF Campaign Chronicles "Yearbook"?

Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

I heard a rumor that the next reprint or so of the Campaign HC would include changes beyond just typos and errors.

Would it be possible to instead include any Campaign changes in a ~100pg softcover "yearbook?" Maybe also include changes from the first three or four APs with brief (mostly) spoiler-free descriptions of changes to the "canon" setting. For instance, in Korvosa's entry,

CotCT stuff:
mention that there was a brief uprising, XXXX is the current ruler/regent, the Grey Maidens are disbanded or reorganized, yada-yada-yada and maybe throw in some nebulous "reasons"/hooks for the changes.
For the real story, PCs who haven't played CotCT can still play the APs without the DM making too many changes.

Plus, a separate Chronicles-sized softcover would mean that nothing in the original HC would need to be cut for space, and there would be plenty of room for "new" new stuff... a PrC or two, some new organizations, gobs of hooks and ideas, and other neat stuff like horse-/dog-breeds or beers/wines of Golarion or whatever is most wanted.

Bonus: I won't have to buy a new Campaign HC, just the softcover. ;)

While we are indeed gearing up for a second printing/second edition of the Campaign Hardcover that'll bring it up to date with the current Pathfinder rules... one thing that we're not going to do is assume that the Adventure Paths and modules we've printed to date are "in the past." We want folks who haven't played those APs and modules to STILL be able to play them using the Hardcover as a baseline, after all. Further, by incorporating events from APs and adventures into the setting as canon by officially advancing the timeline, we make it increasingly difficult for new players AND new writers to break in to the setting.

The new content in the book will be more likely to be new rules content and/or content brought in from other sources to round out some information—for example, thanks to the Legacy of Fire adventure path and the Katapesh book, we know a LOT more about this region and should be able to draw upon some of that material to expand the entry for Katapesh in the hardcover. But updating things to incorporate the changes and events that take place DURING the Legacy of Fire Adventure Path is beyond the scope of what we'll be doing with the hardcover.

In any event... we'll have more to say about how we're handling this book soon.

So, will there be an errata for the people that already have the book? How about an updated PDF? While I could pawn off my "old" book, I'd rather not buy a new one.

Thanks JJ

Thanks, we'll stay tuned. :)

{again considers selling kidney and partial liver for cash to get all the APs, Companions, Chronicles, & Gamemastery goodies. Oh, maybe pay some bills off too.}

I still like the yeabook idea, even ifit wasn't canon I culd see it being useful for a lot of different reasons.

Sounds like an idea for a fansite. (That should be doable under the CUP, right?) If only I had more time on my hands... 8^)

Same here. A Joshuan's Almanac or Poor Wizard's Almanac would be nice.
