The Exchange

Well done Tom, and good luck with the next round. I'd like to be in a position to vote for you again.

Just to give you a small piece of advice from a fan, I don't like gross but I did like the way you wrote and the special swallow-regurgitate ability. Maybe you can be just as talented without the stomach fluids everywhere.

Cheers

Thanks, everyone, for the congratulations and words of advice. I will do my best to live up to the honor I've been given.

I hope you enjoy what I have in store for you. ;-)

Congratulations!

Visual: 8 Charisma
Creativity: 8 Intelligence
Would I use it: 3 Dex
Overall: 8 Strength

In my notes I wrote 'slithering stomach' which might be a sign of where this lost me. "essentially" meant I could stop reading the description--a simile without the poetry if you will. This is a gross image though and I am glad that got it enough votes to carry you to the next round.

Good luck and congratulations!

Apropos of nothing, I just noticed that Tom is from Orange Park, FL! I grew up there! Until I was 10 years old, I lived on Foxridge Ln. just off of Blanding Blvd! REPRESENT, TOM! *throws gang signs*

Wow, someone else from the OP! I hope I do you proud, brotha. ;-)

A lot of us in OP, Jax and Middleburg are watching and crossing our fingers for you. A player of mine in Arlington told our gaming group about your successes and now we follow you closely. :)Good luck!

Thank you, Greg! I'll do my best not to disappoint!

I happened to like the troll fingers best out of the previous entries, and I have to say... this didn't disappoint. I have half a mind to go stat out something based on this tonight, specifically to inflict on my PCs next session.

I wonder if we could get away with Purple People Puker for a name. Okay, okay, maybe not.

But seriously on the topic of the name, I'm not sure there's a perfect solution. So many monsters have names that are utterly meaningless. Grimbozlithian or Minkopaloopmithard. Whatever. Does zero to inspire me. Frankly I wouldn't've penalized you at all. You didn't go for the gag (pun intended as example) and try for Yakking Worm or Technicolour Yawning Maw.

I absolutely want to see more of your work.

Thank you, Anguish!

Hopefully a few hundred more folks want to see more of my work as well. Round 3 is brutal -- I could sure use the votes! ;-)

Tom, I just wanted to drop you a few words of heartfelt thanks for the real distinct pleasure of stating out your disgusting creation! No, really, it was deeee-scusst-ting. :)

You gave me great material to work with and that's why I chose it. I think that's one of the marks of great design too. No matter what we chose to call it, I still think that the thing that eats goopy was-flesh will always be a creepy dungeon classic, as Clark Peterson said in his judgment. :)

(Had I the time, I'd post a stat correction, which I may very well do after Friday's deadline.)

Listen, also, if ever your travels bring you near Dallas/Plano way do fire off a shrill note on your bardic lute and let's do lunch! I suspect we, sir, are of the same stripe! :)

My pleasure, Richard! I was honored you statted up my baby. ;-)

Best of luck in Round 4! I'm looking forward to your Golarion location.
