Points are maxed, both my MOS's are overstrength. :/ Going to try, but unless I max my PT and weapons qual...
Is changing MOS an option for you? (I kind'a felt your pain, once upon a time, myself... though it works a bit differently, trying to get a promotion in the Reserves and Guard-- no open slots in your MOS in your state/area still looks a lot like frozen promotions and maxed points on active duty)
(BTW-- what are your current MOS's? Don't think I ever read you mentioning them, so far)

I can't change jobs because I'm a year from RCP.
25B's overstrength? That's a bit of a surprise.
Regarding the MOS change-- they used to have a policy that, if you were already deemed 'promotable', w/ good points and such-- you could still extend or reenlist even if you were close to RCP, specifically to go into a shortage MOS that really needs people 1 grade up from where you're at-- with the presumption that you'll get promoted as soon as you're qualified in the new MOS and have spent a few months at it. I guess that policy doesn't exist anymore, unfortunately.

Argh. See, that "get promoted as soon as you were MOSQ, because it's the MOS is that severely short on people and you already have the points to make the promo score for the new MOS" used to trump that RCP point consideration-- on the grounds that, since you'd be getting promoted, you obviously would be able to meet the 3 years' service requirement (having many more years to go since you're getting the next rank as part of the deal).
And from what you've just told me-- they've done away with that gift to good soldiers getting jammed up against the RCP due to overstrength MOS's. Unfortunately.
Gonna go Guard or Reserve if you're forced off of Active Duty, or just gonna get all the way out?
