So over the course of the past couple of months, I came up with a few Metamagic feats - each one adds a secondary effect to a hit point damage spell.
Burning Spell: When a Fire spell deals damage, target must make a Reflex save, or else catch on fire.
Shocking Spell: When an Electricity spell deals damage, target must make a Fortitude save, or else become Stunned for one round.
Corrosive Spell: When an Acid spell deals damage, target must make a Fortitude save, or else start to take continuous Acid damage.
Freezing Spell: When a Cold spell deals damage, target must make a Reflex save, or gain the Entangled condition, being frozen in place.
I thought this would be really useful to elemental specialists (like Elemental and Draconic bloodline sorcerers), as well as giving the different damage types some utility - as it stands, there's not much difference between being hit with an ice ball than there is from a fire ball, mechanics-wise.

I like this idea, I hate the idea that I can throw a huge acid bath over someone and it causes damage and then somehow fades away, same with fireballs and electricity. I like that those real world items created by magic could have real world affects.
Thanks!

I've seen the burning one before, and I have it already in my homebrew collection. I acquired it over on GiantITP. Perhaps they acquired it from you, or two minds just came up with the same thing.
Anyway, I like that you came up with separate versions for each one.
I have a question however, would not perhaps making a single feat that allows you to do all four be best? Or would that be overpowering >.>
Probably overpowering.. >.>
