Scarab Sages RPG Superstar 2013

So, erm...maybe the long weekend will give you a chance to tell us how things are going?

I think Mr. Porter had an AWESOME Christmas, but Christmas ends tonight, so maybe he'll be back soon.

I will be making a comment about this soon, BUT I don't think this is going to be what you want to hear. More to come.

Dang I never noticed this thread before. I need to keep my eyes open more. Sigh

Bump.

Would like to hear what's going on with this contest, even if the news is that it's been canceled.

Well, I saw the names of the winners on a recent NeoExodus release, but I'm a bit unsure specifically what LPJ is referencing. He's on here daily, so I reckon he'll spill the news when he's ready.

Is it soon yet?

Mairkurion {tm} wrote:

Only then will it be now. Everything that happens then will happen.

It's a very surreal moment, to be truthful.

-Ben.

Well, that's just because everything that happens, happens NOW.

What? Oh, sorry, I was staring at the Mr. Coffee, it is right next to the computer.

-Ben.

Time and space, eh?

Seems like a dangerous location for a coffeemaker.

Is that from something other than a PFR song?

The movie Spaceballs.

I'm confused. What does 'dont think it will be what you want to hear' mean? Did it get canceled? Did he hate them all? If there are winners posted somewhere, maybe we could get a link?

Hope all is well with LPJ!

I was either getting the impression 'not enough entrants to warrant the contest' or 'y'all sucked.' But the 'list of winners posted elsewhere' thing makes me think that this contest was perhaps announced elsewhere, and the winner(s) came from that other site / those other sites, instead.

Meh.

The five stages of submitter's grief seem to go;
'hopeful' -> 'impatient' -> 'despairing' -> 'annoyed' -> 'bored, now.'

Set is at 'bored, now.'

I got the winners announcement mixed with another contest that was already completed. Nothing hasn't been mentioned on this and I have no idea what's going to happen with this. *shrug*

I checked with LPJDesign via twitter on the 14th and got this response.

*shrug*

Jiggle-jiggle.

Don't know why I even bother to care, but now it's making me curious why there's no resolution so an answer can be given so we can let it die ... which is starting to sound like the actual intent. But alas, when Mairk has an agenda, he's not going to let it die easily. :P

Yeah, I'm not really hanging on any more. But, I did devote some time and effort to my submission. I would at least like the courtesy of being told that the contest has been deadbeated.

The issue with this event/contest is not on the writing side, but on the artist side. I have been looking for new artist to work on this project due to several of my regular artists not being able to commit to thsi project. When I know something in more detail, then you all will know it also. Sorry about the wait.

[blatant commercial] Have you considered Hugo Solis? [/blatant commercial]

You're not whipping them hard enough, Louis. Your next video podcast should be a dire demonstration to those who cannot commit to your schedule. After all your time is money and they're not helping. ;)

Hugo. Hugo! HUGO!

Butterfrog ftw, and not just because he's put several of pieces of my handiwork into pixelated life, but because he does it with such panache.

How can you not love a mug like this?

C'mon, that just drips with flavor... it might not be something I'd want to taste, but there's flavor there. ;)

-Ben.

Well, yeah, Hugo seems like the obvious choice. If you're not familiar wtih his work, LPJ, do take a look. Marvelous stuff.

Glad to hear that the project hasn't been doomed, and looking forward to some news, eventually.

*cough*

*sigh*

I just noticed this thread too.

As much as I am impressed with Paizo, their products, and their customer service, I must say that I am incredibly annoyed and disappointed by their forums.

I really wish they would use the standard forum category system that nearly every other forum uses.

*sighs*

Are we there yet?

Contests???? Where do you find out about contests??????

Sarth, do you this contest, or contests in general?

This contest is closed to submissions, and is supposed to be in judging. We haven't heard anything more about it for a while.

I don't think we're going to hear anything. In fact, LMJ may have died of chronic apoplexy aggravated by gout brought on by sluggish humours due to a lack of general motion resulting from the paralyzing stiffening of the muscles attributed to ghoul fever, poor fellow. We must go on without him.

10 more days till the anniversary of my submission!

In retrospect, I loathe the name 'Fer-ala' and would like to change it to 'Quol-i-Shirr' which will mean 'Shadow of a Cat' in some language that I just made up now.

The Hurulu write up needs more about society and stuff, and less about eating intestinal worms out of each other's tumor-riddled corpses. 'Cause, eeeew. What the hell!

We were combing the thread, but we ain't found &#|¥!

So, this never went anywhere?

It went NOWHERE and was completely my fault. Lots of things behind the scenes and this went totally to crap. Due to that, there is now way we could have done what I planned. Like I said this complete failure you can blame directly on me. Sorry.

I would like / LOVE to, but a specific faction / issue really prevents for happening they way it would come off very well that I thing people would want to see it done.

No big. I enjoyed the process, and it felt kinda challenging, given the choices you made. (The Remorhaz, in particular, was crazy hard for me to come up with a variation that didn't feel like a Remorhaz. It's design, powers, movement, resistances, etc. really pegged it hard into a certain environment and niche. The other two were cake, by comparison.)

I like creating stuff, and this was a neat challenge, to re-skin something, without changing anything mechanically.

Well, i'm not sure what was the original intent, but a monster writing contest open to anybody (by you or anybody else) along the lines of the original Fiend Folio would be something I'd be interested in, provided some decent editing is done on the submissions.

Wink, wink !
