Adult Black Dragon, pages 92-93

Listed CMB is +24 and should be +22 (+14 base attack bonus +7 Str +1 size).

I concur with this.

I agree with your DC assessments related to spells and abilities as well.

Young/Adult/Ancient Red Dragon, pages 98-99

All the three stat blocks are missing the "SQ" entry after the "Languages" entry.

Young Red Dragon, page 98
Listed level 1 spells per day is 3 and should be 4 (3 base + 1 for Cha score of 12).

Brass Dragon and Copper Dragon, pages 103 and 107

The pictures for the two dragons have been swapped (if I may have had doubts about strange color variations of brass and copper in the past, now I've also seen the picture-name association in Ben Wootten's DeviantArt gallery: Brass Dragon, Copper Dragon).

Ancient Red Dragon, page 99

Spells: in the level 0 spells known, Bleed is missing its DC (DC 15).

Feats: the dragon has Stunning Critical but not Staggering Critical (required for the former).

Ancient Red Dragon, page 99, again (and again, why is the edit time for posts so short?)

Spells: in the level 2 spells known, Detect Thoughts and Misdirection are missing their DCs (DC 17).

In the level 7 spells known, Limited Wish is missing its DC (DC 22). Unsure if Limited Wish should have the DC listed there, but whatever will be, will be.

Tarrasque, page 262

The Tarrasque has the feat Stunning Critical but not its prerequisite Staggering Critical.

Ancient Gold Dragon, page 109
Shoggoth, page 249

These two too have the feat Stunning Critical but not its prerequisite Staggering Critical.

I've given a look throughout the Bestiary, and there should be no other creature with this error, save for those reported previously.

Ancient White Dragon, page 101

The Languages line is missing two bonus languages.

Young Brass Dragon, page 102

The CMD entry is missing the "(28 vs. trip)".

Adult Bronze Dragon, page 105

Level 0 spells known: the "2 more" should instead be "3 more".

Languages: the "2 more" should be "1 more".

Ancient Bronze Dragon, page 105

Level 0 spells as above, but should be "5 more".

Ancient Bronze Dragon, page 105

Level 3 spells per day are listed as 7 but should be 8.

Bronze Dragon, page 104

The Vortex special attack doesn't specify a range for the ability. Unlike the Whirlwind (and Water Elemental's Vortex) it is based upon, it is an extraordinary ability, so I take it that the Dragon doesn't change its own shape to become the vortex itself and that the vortex shouldn't form in the Dragon's space (unless the Dragon so wishes) because it could be virtually affected by its own attack.

Young Gold Dragon, page 108

Special attacks: listed range for breath weapon's cone is 80 ft. (as the range of a linear breath) but should be 40 ft.

Ancient Gold Dragon, page 109

As above; the listed 120 ft. should be 60 ft.

____________________________

A personal note on the Young Gold Dragon: it has Improved Critical (claw), but wouldn't it be better to apply it to bite first? It's true that the Dragon has two claw attacks when performing a full-attack, but the bite is its strongest attack AND the one it'll always prefer to use when limited to a single attack (usually when moving and attacking), so the Improved Critical would be much more useful if applied to bite, I'd say.
Of course Dragons are open to GM customization more than most other creatures, but I'm speaking in fact for the average "book-statted for quick use" Dragon.

Dragon Turtle, page 112

Shouldn't it have the Amphibious special quality?

I'm saying this for two reasons: first, obviously, altough being a dragon-type creature (to say that it's not a mundane animal), it is based on turtles, and most turtles, if not all, can breathe air.
Second, the Dragon Turtle's flavor text speaks of how it demands tributes to sailor and the like. Plus, it can speak, and it can speak common too. But how would it speak to sailors if it suffocates in the air for the lack of the Amphibious SQ?

Drow, page 114

Errata 1.0 said to change the listed +3 attack bonus fo rapier to +2, but +3 is actually correct: +1 base attack bonus, +2 Dex (Weapon Finesse).

Also, the listed Stealth bonus is +2 and should be +3 (1 rank +2 Dex; the other rank spent on Perception adds to the -1 Wis and +2 racial to reach the already listed Perception +2).

Last, can NPC classes be favored classes? If yes, the Drow would have 1 additional skill point.

Drow Noble, page 115

Same as above for the masterwork rapier attack bonus: errata says +4, but the original +6 is correct; +2 base attack bonus, +3 Dex (Weapon Finesse), +1 masterwork weapon.

Giant Moray Eel, page 119

The moray eel's second bite attack is listed as dealing 1d6+4 points of damage. I suppose it should be +3 (which is half its Str bonus) or maybe +6 (its actual Str bonus).

Medium Fire Elemental, page 124

Listed CMD is 18, but should be 19 (10, +4 base attack bonus, +1 Str, +3 Dex, +1 Dodge).

Medium Water Elemental, page 126

Listed flat-footed AC is 17 but should be 16 (+6 natural and nothing else).

Genie, Efreeti, page 140

Listed DC for the Change Size special ability is 13 but should be 14 (10, +2 Cha, +2 spell level).
Also, it has a base speed of 20 ft, which is quite odd. Dunno if these things have something to do with a matter of copy/paste between Efreeti and Janni stat blocks, but is that 20 ft base speed right?

Genie, Marid, page 142

Listed damage for the Vortex special attack is 1d8+4, but it should be 1d8+6 (23 Str).
Also, I don't know if it should be 1d8 or 2d6, since the Marid has the Improved Natural Attack feat applied to the slam attack and Vortex/Whirlwind is supposed to deal the same damage as the slam attack.

Genie, Shaitan, page 143

Errata 1.0 removed the Improved Natural Attack feat (in favor of Greater Bull Rush), but I think it forgot to correct the listed damage dice for slam attacks. It is listed as 2d6, and if it goes down one step for the removal of Improved Natural Attack it goes to 1d8 (which is the same of all other three elemental genies and is already one step higher than the 1d6 reported for large size slam attacks in the Universal Monster Rules section).

Dark Archive

Snake, Venomous, page 255 incorrect Poison DC

10 + 1 (1/2 HD) + 1 (Con) = 12
SB says 13

Dark Archive

Svirfneblin, page 255 incorrect SLA DC

the rule: The saving throw (if any) against a spell-like ability is 10 + the level of the spell the ability resembles or duplicates + the creature’s Charisma modifier.
It says modifier not bonus so it's -1.

blindness/deafness = 10 + 2 (sor/wir spell level) + -1 (Con) = 11

SB says 12

chopswil wrote:

It has Con 14 (+2 modifier), so DC 13 is correct.

Dunno about this one; I mean, the only written rule I can find about it is indeed that the DC is equal to 10 + spell level + Charisma modifier, but it is not clear if that rule is missing a part and thus whether:

1) That rule and only that must be applied, in which case, the Svirfneblin's Blindness/Deafness is DC 11.
2) A negative Charisma modifier should not be applied, in which case the listed DC 12 is correct.
3) As for magic items, the minimum DC of a spell-like ability cannot go below 10 + spell level + minimum Charisma score to cast that spell, despite what the real Charisma score of the creature might be, in which case DC would be 13 (minimum Cha to cast a 2nd level spell is 12, thus a +1 modifier).

This would need an official reply.

Dark Archive

Rakshasa, page 231

"Spells Known" doesn't give a class but the DCs work if it's Sorcerer, so I guess that's what it is.

Ghoul, page 146

It's missing one known language for its +1 Int modifier.

Giants, page 147-152

Like the Ghoul, some Giants have one language less than they should, unless common is considered a bonus language for them; but then there are Giants with 10 Int that still have both Giant and Common (only the Hill Giant, with 6 Int, has uniquely the Giant language).
How about this matter?

Frost Giant, page 149

Skill points issue, despite the errata changed the Stealth bonus.

Calculating from the stat block:

Climb +13 (+3 ranks, +9 Str, +3 class, -2 armor penality)
Craft +7 (+4 ranks, +3 class)
Intimidate +7 (+4 ranks, +3 class)
Perception +10 (+5 ranks, +2 Wis, +3 class)
Stealth +2 (+6 ranks, -1 Dex, -2 armor penality, +3 skill focus, -4 size)

Total ranks: 3 + 4 + 4 + 5 + 6 = 22
But the Giant should have 28 total skill points.
With 10 Int and 2 base ranks (for Humanoid creature type) * 14 HD = 28 points.

The thread for Bestiary 2 errata is this one

___________________________________________

Gibbering Mouther, page 153

1) Listed DC for the Spittle special ability is 18 but should be 19 (10, +2 for half HD, + 7 Con).

2) Gibbering special attack's text says that the DC is Constitution-based, but seeing the listed DC value and the type of ability it is obviously Charisma-based.

Astral Wanderer:
I had already looked at the thread you link to and by page 5 it turned into a thread where posters discussed if something was an actual error - not one for reporting things.
If there is an actual errata for Bestiary 2 thread, it seems to have lapsed into the archives.
Edit:
No, found it (all 27 posts of it at time of posting) hiding at the bottom of the forum...
Will mention the Brownie there too.
Apologies for missing that one and posting here.

Climb +11 = +0 ranks, +4 Str, +8 extra mods
Perception +11 = +4 ranks, +1 Wis, +3 class skill, +3 extra mods
Stealth +5 = +3 ranks, +3 Dex, +3 class skill, -4 extra mods

Total Climb bonus is +12 (4 + 8). The +14 listed in the statblock is indeed incorrect.

(And the ranks are spent as reported above, 4 in Perception and 3 in Stealth.)

Demiurge 1138 wrote:

The gnoll's equipment is wrong. Their attack stats reflect a spear (like in the picture), but their defensive stats and equipment list the shield, axe and longbow from the SRD.

I'll add to this: the Gnoll also isn't proficient with the battleaxe and longbow reported in its Treasure line; plus, if it is wielding the spear, which is two-handed, it is clearly not using a shield, so its AC drops (and maybe it becomes a little too low).

Goblin, page 156

Listed Ride, Stealth and Swim bonuses seem to be missing the -1 armor check penalty due to the shield:

Ride: +9 (+1 rank, +2 Dex, +3 class, +4 racial, -1 armor check penalty)
Stealth: +9 (+2 Dex, +4 racial, +4 size, -1 armor check penalty)
Swim: +3 (+1 rank, +3 class, -1 armor check penalty)

Flyby Attack monster feat, page 315

This feat is the in-flight version of Spring Attack, right?
Spring Attack specifies that using the feat does not provoke attacks of opportunity from the target of the attack.
Flyby Attack doesn't say anything like that. Is this purposeful or is it an error of sort?

Also, Flyby Attack's text says that the creature can take a standard action (RAW any kind of standard action, not just an attack action); is this also purposeful? And, if that's the case, is that the reason why nothing is said about attacks of opportunity from a target?

Half-Celestial Unicorn, page 169

The errata corrected how Smite Evil works for a Half-Celestial creature and thus added a +7 bonus to attack to Smite Evil in the Half-Celestial Unicorn's Special Attacks entry.
But the +7 should be +8 (26 Cha has a +8 modifier).

Also, its Knowledge (planes) bonus is +5 but should be +8 (+4 ranks, +1 Int, +3 class skill).

Half-Fiend Minotaur, page 171

The Speed entry in "Creating a Half-Fiend" mentions that the creature has good maneuverability, but the Half-Fiend Minotaur's stat block reports an average maneuverability.
This would also give a +4 bonus to the Fly skill (+2 Dex, -2 size, +4 maneuverability).

____________________________________________

About skills, the Skills entry in "Creating a Half-Fiend" says: "Racial class skills are unchanged, and class level skill ranks are unaffected."

If it is correct and must be applied to the Hal-Celestial template too (which would mean an omission in the "Creating a Half-Celestial" paragraph), then...

Astral Wanderer wrote:

Half-Celestial Unicorn, page 169

Also, its Knowledge (planes) bonus is +5 but should be +8 (+4 ranks, +1 Int, +3 class skill).

...the Knowledge (planes) +5 bonus is correct, but the Sense Motive +14 bonus should be lowered to +11, since Sense Motive is not a class skill for magical beast (base creature type of the Unicorn).

Hell Hound, Nessian, page 173

Total skill points = (6 for outsider type -3 for an Int score of 4) * 12 = 36.

Acrobatics +16 (+12 ranks, +3 class skill, +2 Dex, -1 armor check penalty) <--- Alright in the stat block.
Perception +12 (+6 ranks, +3 class skill, +1 Wis, +2 feat) <--- Alright in the stat block.
Stealth +21 (+10 ranks, +3 class skill, +2 Dex, +5 racial, +6 feat, -4 size, -1 armor check penalty) <--- Alright in the stat block.
Survival +15 (+8 ranks, +3 class skill, +1 Wis, +3 feat)

12 + 6 + 10 + 8 = 36 skill points.

The errata changed a previous Survival +13 to a Survival +18, but unless I lost some value around, math tells me the correct one is Survival +15.
Maybe when compiling the errata the bonus from Ability Focus (Survival) was considered as +6, but it doesen't seem there can be 10 ranks in Survival (if it had 10 ranks and the bonus from Ability Focus became +6, the total Survival bonus would be +20... not +18 in any case).

Giants from Cloud to Stone, page 147-151

Only Stone Giants have iterative rock attacks listed in their stat block despite the fact that all other giants too have base attack bonuses higher than +6.
I can't find any rule saying that only Stone Giants get iterative attacks for rock throwing (or better, I don't see any rule saiying than other Giants should not get them), so the entries should read as follow:

Cloud Giant (Base attack bonus +12)

Ranged rock +12/+7/+2 (2d6+18)

Fire Giant (Base attack bonus +11)

Ranged rock +10/+5/+0 (1d8+15 plus 1d6 fire)

Frost Giant (Base attack bonus +10)

Ranged rock +9/+4 (1d8+13)

Hill Giant (Base attack bonus +7)

Ranged rock +6/+1 (1d8+10)

Hyena and Dire Hyena, page 179

Both creatures are missing their increased CMD value against trip attacks due to being quadrupeds.

Hyena CMD 15 (19 vs. trip)
Dire Hyena CMD 20 (24 vs. trip)

Intellect Devourer, page 180

Not sure about this one: the Intellect Devourer of course isn't a Rogue, but it has the Sneak Attack special ability; now, if the number of damage dice takes the creature's HDs as if they were Rogue levels, then it should be +4d6 rather than the listed +3d6 (same in the Body Thief special ability's text, if that "+3d6" it mentions for the coup de grace is from Sneak Attack).
If the number of dice is instead fix or based on something else, then alright.

Iron Cobra, page 182

Since the Cold Iron Cobra's natural attacks count as cold iron for the purpose of bypassing damage reduction, shouldn't the Adamantine Cobra's ones count as adamantine?

The Astral Deva appears to only use 3 of its "4 additional class skills" available to an Outsider. Should this last class skill be assigned to Knowledge (religion)?

This also depends upon whether Fly counts as one of the "4 additional class skills" or if it is an additional class skill added beyond the 4.

HappyDaze wrote:

This also depends upon whether Fly counts as one of the "4 additional class skills" or if it is an additional class skill added beyond the 4.

Creatures with a fly speed treat the Fly skill as a class skill. So no, Fly doesn't count in those 4, and yes, the fourth class skill should then be Knowledge (religion).

_____________________________________________

Kobold, page 183

The stat block reports that the sample Kobold speaks both Common and Draconic despite its Int 10, but the "Kobold Characters" paragraph says that default language for Kobolds is only Draconic.

Lich, page 188

It is missing three bonus languages. It should have 18 languages (1 Common, +6 Int, +11 Linguistics ranks).

Minor note: under the prepared spells is written "Prohibited Schools", but it should be better "Opposed Schools".

Linnorm, Crag, page 190

The Base Atk/CMB/CMD line reports a "(+35 grapple)" in the Base Atk entry, while it should be in the CMB entry.

Linnorm, Ice, page 191

The listed CMB reports a "40 (+49 grapple)", but it should be "40 (+44 grapple)".
Or I'm missing where an additional +5 is taken from.

Mohrg, page 208

The stat block is missing the "Languages" entry.
Is this purposeful, and thus the Mohrg doesn't understand nor speak any language, or was it a lapse indeed?

Also, the listed DC for Paralysis (in the "Special Attacks" entry) is 19, but should be 21 (10 + 2 Cha* + 7** + 2 Ability Focus).

* Undead use Cha to calculate DCs of special abilities that normally rely on Con.

** 1/2 HDs = 7 for the Mohrg.

Nessian Hell Hound has incorrect Survival Skill bonus. Should be +15, not +13 or +18 after errata

Nessian Hell Hounds have 36 skill ranks. They are spent as follows: Acrobatics 12 ranks, Perception 6 ranks, Stealth 10 ranks and Survival 8 ranks. They have a +5 racial bonus to Stealth. Note that masterwork chainshirt barding adds -1 ACP to Acrobatics and Stealth bonuses.

How to Check

Quote:

Ability Scores: Str 27, Dex 15, Con 21, Int 4, Wis 12, Cha 6

Notable Feats: Alertness, Skill Focus (Stealth, Survival)

Acrobatics +16 = 12 ranks (+3 Class, +2 Dex, -1 ACP)
Perception +12 = 6 ranks (+3 Class, +2 Alertness, +1 Wis)
Stealth +21 = 10 ranks (+3 Class, +2 Dex, +5 race, +6 Skill focus, -1 ACP, -4 Size)
Survival +15 = 8 ranks (+3 Class, +1 Wis, +3 Skill focus)
Total Spent: 36 Ranks

Edit: Awesome thread this. Anyone got revised errata PDF with all our observations?

Doh. Just noticed Astral Wanderer also got +15 Survival for Nessian Hell Hound in his post above.

In the dead tree version of the first edition bestiary, bebilith is incorrectly spelt as 'bebelith' on page 3 in the alphabetical listing of monsters.

Silke wrote:

Anyone got revised errata PDF with all our observations?

I have an enormous amount of post-its, which I could transcribe in a text file, but a certain amount of them is made from my personal choices about what to do with certain errors or doubts (the rest, of course, is made from errors with obvious corrections or doubts with official answers).

Naga, Guardian, page 212

Listed DC for Poison is 19, but should be 21 (10 + 1/2 HD + Con = 10 + 6 + 5).
_______________________________________

Naga, Dark, Guardian and Spirit, page 211, 212 and 213

All three of them is missing bonus languages from high Intelligence score.
I don't know if the two languages each of them has are both their base languages or if one of those is already a bonus language for high Int; depending on this:

The Dark and Guardian Naga are both missing two or three bonus languages (Int 16).
The Spirit Naga is either missing one or nothing (Int 12).

Naga, Spirit, page 213

1) Skills issue.

Total skill points = (4 Aberration + 1 Int) x 10 = 50.

Bluff +13 (10 ranks, +3 Cha)
Escape Artist +13 (3 ranks, +5 Dex, +3 class, +2 Stealthy)
Intimidate +9 (3 ranks, +3 Cha, +3 class)
Knowledge (arcana) +14 (10 ranks, +1 Int, +3 class)
Perception +22 (10 ranks, +3 Wis, +3 class, +6 Skill Focus)
Spellcraft +11 (7 ranks, +1 Int, +3 class)
Swim +12 (+4 Str, +8 racial)

43 skill points spent till here.

Now, giving the 7 remaining skill points to Stealth, we have:

Stealth +13 (7 ranks, +5 Dex, +3 class, +2 Stealthy, -4 size)

Listed bonus for Stealth is +15. I suppose the Stealthy feat bonus has been considered +4 as if the Naga had 10 ranks in Stealth, but in that case the total bonus would have been +18, which is not +15 anyway.

2) Charming Gaze says it works as Charm Person, but being a supernatural ability it doesn't give a caster level, so, which is the duration? Same CL as the Naga's spells?
