Crystal Frasier shrine

Website Feedback

Just read the blog for the first time since my histamines staged a revolt oh so many months ago and wow--I'm still picking pieces of brain and ear out of my herb tea.

As a connoisseur of outlandish composition and lover of totally bugged out metaphor I must congratulate Paizo on finally abducting a maestro blogger. And please keep her chains securely fastened, dudes!

Of course I studiously found this thread and deliberated posting there but your blah blah is so cool Crystal that I knew the erection of a shrine would be the only suitable way I could express my appreciation for your fantastic writing.

While I agree with you about the awesome-sauce that is Crystal, I feel like there's something dirty about your post. I can't quite place it though.

Allow me to help you there Yoda8myhead

Yeah, bit of a strawman extraction, but funny nonetheless.

Crystal Frasier is my favorite ever. She should get access to the Twitter account, so I can send her little anonymous notes of admiration.

I think her web blog is great, but I am still trying to figure out the formula of n+1 time. Where "n" is the time they actually have, and they have 4 sets of eyes on any given product then the actual time of editing should be I think "t" for time unit. 4t/1 or translated as four units of editing over 1 unit of time (or how long it takes to do the total job). There must be a lot of fuzzy logic in publishing.

I am curious how much time (ideal, not actual) they give from start to finish of a project. I say ideal because I have read where James Jacobs mentions some projects have had problems and a second writer will be called in to save the project at the last minute. I imagine this is not the norm but has to be factored in when the project is created.

I think the point is that no matter how much time they have for editing, they always need, or could at least benefit from, a little bit more.

And a big thank you must go to Crystal, for sending Ashton her spare PC tablet. He has been a busy boy with it, creating paper minis for all the cash-strapped gamers out there.

Ah, "I see" says the blind man who pulled out his hammer and saw.

In programming, it is the same with "testing time". I have written code that will be used on average 400 times/second. Every time someone uses a credit card to make a purchase there is a chance of an error. There is never enough testing time in my opinion. I can relate.

That was very nice of her!

The returns on excessive editing start to detract from the final product at a certain point, I'd imagine.

Depends on the project: page count, complexity, amount of rules, experience of the writer... all of these things factor in.

And the projects that need a last-minute rescue rewrite tend to be late.

Uh. I just came here to flag Charles Evans for stalking, and then I see that it's Kruelaid erecting the shrine.

And of course it is also dependent on the total number of Octopuseses,...Octopie,....Octocake,,,, Ah Octocobblers involved in the project.

Crystal has half the art credit for The Last Wish in Wayfarer 1.

That's well worth a shrine by itself, in my opinion.

Crystal has other stuff here too.

You think Crystal would let me show her my stuff?

...lol.

Just kidding with the creepy thing, I just really love your blog posts, Crystal.

You guys are going to give me a swelled head. Save your praise for the guys who are here working hard 60 hours a week. If I'm cranking out high-quality work like they are in a year, then you can build a shrine.

But work on the Crystal Cathedral has already been completed!

More kudos for C.F.'s blogging. Much more fun than everybody's appendix.

That's ERECT a shrine.

And wow, they work almost as much as me... poor bastards.

All of them are amazing, true that. And a lot of the Paizo staff have had threads of appreciation or heaps of gratitude one way or another... and even if they haven't they all deserve them.

But of course only Erik gets his own day.

Wow.

I saw that and now I don't believe in God anymore.

Really enjoyed the blog today showing the process which each page gets as it's developed. Interesting, well written and very informative.

Keep it up!!

Crystal, would it be possibel to have your Blog info put into a downloadable PDF at a later time? I would love to print this out and have it added to my print collection, if only to say to some people "THIS is all the Hell and hassle these guys (and gals) go through!".
