Well, then, stay away from me. I don't want to catch any of your FAWTL cooties!
Hmm, what is up with me?
Well, this weekend I visited Comrade Curtin out on the Cape and we played some of this Zombicide game that was going 'round.
It was totally awesome, but now that I'm linking it, wow! that's expensive!
But it was totally awesome. We got swarmed by zombie hordes.
In work news,
Also, Comrade Thorn may (or may not) remember my last year Xmas blues with my illustrious employer using contractual loopholes to screw us out of our seasonal overtime pay. Not this year! The crew manned up and (for the most part) refused to sign their stupid "straight eight" list and now I only have to work 6 1/2 hours and get paid for 8!
U-nion! U-nion! U-nion!

It was very cool getting to meet Patrick at Paizocon. I bet you'd be fun to drink with too.

I just noticed that over the night I hit 1,000 favorited posts!
In case you're keeping track that's almost 1 favorited post out of every 10!
You really like me! [Weeps like Sally Fields]
I would like to thank each and every one of my favoriters for making me the most beloved perpetually-stoned revolutionary-socialist Galtan goblin paladin on the internet!
But I would most like to thank by kinsman, Gark the Goblin for giving me the strength to go on posting (because, really what else do I have to do?) and to my Lord and Master, Farael the Fallen, for giving me at least a 200-post up.
Thank you!
[Shakes Paizoaward triumphantly]

Oh yeah, and happy Thanksgiving, FAWTL Refugees!
We're not really as big into holidays (or sociability) as the real FAWTLies.
Is that the holiday where you hide children in pumpkins to celebrate President Eisenhower riding through the night to warn the Canadians about Columbus winning the Battle of New Orleans at Plymouth Rock ?
Anyway, I hope you had a good time. I'm off to the pub.

Tomorrow we will be playing the Lords of Chaos game. Another player will be able to make it and he's already made his character. He is going to be a Goblin Alchemist named Oz-burn who rides around on a Dire Bat and throws bombs shaped like pumpkins. I really gave this guy a lot of props for ingenuity on this one. I'll post a game report on Sunday.

I have spent quite a bit of the last five days watching Record of Lodoss War. This is probably like, my seventh?, attempt to watch it because I could never reconcile myself to the linearity jumps in the first couple of episodes, but this time I'm up to the penultimate episode!
It's also taken me much longer, because I watch two episodes and then I fall asleep then I rewind and watch an episode and fall asleep, etc.
Anyway, despite all that, I'm enjoying it quite a bit even though I don't much care for anime.

I really liked it, but Diane always fell asleep.

It's a great piece of work, and such a shame that I spent the first couple of minutes sniggering to myself because the God of Light was called Phallix.
But what does an elf know about such things? Nice to have something to watch on YouTube apart from old MST3K episodes :)

Last night was supposed to be the last session of Scint's homebrew game before she switched over to Council of Thieves, but one of the players got called in to work a closing shift so it got postponed to Wednesday. We played Lords of Chaos instead.
Long live Lodegk, Kobold Freedom Fighter! VIVA LA REVOLUCION!!

Yesterday my gaming group was supposed to continue our Kingmaker game. I knew one person wasn't going to be there and I was told by the GM that he "may be late" but otherwise was going to be there. BTW, we usually game at my house since I have a crap ton of books/minis/space/etc and a basement. So, around 2 I get a text from the GM that says "I 'might' not be there due to something coming up" (it was personal and not important to this story). Anyways, it's time for everyone to be there and there are 4 people there ready to game with no GM. So, I did what I always do when our group doesn't have a GM, I ran a "Lord of Chaos" game.
What is a Lord of Chaos game you ask? Well the concept is simple really and only takes little to no prep time. Spoilered for space reasons.
Spoiler:Step 1: All players make a character of the same level. They can be any class you allow and any race you allow. Certain classes will not be allowed and that will be explained later.
Step 2: Every character has to have a Chaotic alignment. Basically, they can be CG, CN, or CE. So no monks or paladins.
Step 3: The players have to tell you why they were "chosen" to be a member of the "Lords of Chaos". This could be anything from "I have tourettes", "I worship rocks", etc. Whatever the reason, it has be interesting.
Step 4: The characters must at all times fight the law whenever possible. The Lords of Chaos are an organization I created a while back and they basically go around causing mischief whenever possible and ensuring that people are free to do whatever they want. So, they constantly fight the "Law" even if it isn't a tyrannical government.

Scint spent the afternoon rolling on my setting's custom reincarnate chart and randomly pairing the races she got up with classes, then created sample character sheets for everyone to pick from. We ended up with a Kobold Fighter (me), Ael-Varan (Birdfolk) Rogue, Fenrin (Wolfolk) Bard, and Yuan-Ti Sorcerer. For lack of better inspiration, we started in an inn.
Lodegk was actually intending originally to just mind his own business and drink unless lawmen showed up. However, both the Rogue and the Sorc thought it would be funny to steal his mead and blame it on someone else in the bar, which nearly started a fight two or three times (though he managed to convince the bartender to give him a free mug since someone had swapped his for one filled with water, but that free one also got stolen, curse my lousy Perception). Finally the Rogue got caught pickpocketing, and couldn't quite weasel out of it with another successful bluff. That was about the point where the Bard knocked down all the wall torches, and of course everyone ran because we were in a freakin' wooden building. Lodegk did manage to save one keg from the flames though, and ride it out of the inn Donkey Kong style.
Two watchmen came to investigate, started asking a bunch of questions, and eventually we twigged to who they were and the revolution was on. Lodegk actually critted the first guy into the negatives with his first swing, but the other guard got two crits in a row on the Rogue with his sap and knocked her out. The Sorc and I ganged up on him while the Bard fixed the Rogue, and another crit much later from Lodegk's pick took him way past dead. He left him for the others to loot and went to the other guy, patched his wounds, and slapped him awake, intending to send him back to his fellow men to serve as a warning. Instead the now-wakened guard smacked him with his sap. So Lodegk hit back, killing him, then tossed both their bodies into the burning tavern.
I forget exactly what happened next, but we ended up with the Rogue and Bard robbing a haberdasher (and the merchant fighting back, nearly KOing the Rogue again) while Lodegk and the Sorc waited outside for the watch to arrive (he didn't have much interest in thievery, and she was apathetic). When they did, Lodegk nailed one of them with a firework. There was a small skirmish, then the Sorc dropped a flaming sphere onto the guard I'd hit with the rocket; Lodegk decided this was time for more explosives, and tossed a Grenade into the sphere, detonating it instantly, killing one guard and severely wounding the other. I forget who finished him off.
By that time it was nearly midnight so we brought it to an end there.

Awesome start to the game. Something that will help you guys is to just do the first thing that comes to your mind. If one of you wants to start a rutabega farm, go ahead. If you want to travel halfway across the world just to get back 5g from that guy who owes you money, start packing. Essentially, do all the wild and crazy things you never get to do in regular games. We had one game where the group decided to make some money by participating in an arena tournament. Two of the players decided to "throw the last fight" and forgot to tell everyone else. They eventually lost after turning on each other and causing mass confusion amongst the other party. There was also another time when one of the characters was a cleric who worshipped one of his older characters and went around "rescuing" children from orphanages. Needless to say, hilarity ensued...even if it was a bit disturbing at times.

Lodegk was pretty awesome. He wanted to rebel against any form of authority and instigate anarchy, and he liked explosives and alcohol (preferably Linnorm Mead). He ended up following the others around because the thief and the bard tended to attract cops ;)
FIFY.
He sounds like a true comrade.

Explosives, alcohol, and anarchy...the perfect formula for an awesome Lords of Chaos game. VIVA LA REVOLUTION!

Ooh, those are all good, Citizen The Mad.
I especially like rags of rabble rousing but I can hear the judges now: rags? but they're not made of cloth, they're newspapers!
But I did notice, flipping through the Inner Sea Guide, that Golarion has movable-type printing presses. "Off with their heads!" ran the headline of L'Ami du gobellen. Again.
