Request for Final Chapter - Need a Celebratory Speech

Shackled City Adventure Path

Hi @all

Already searched the internet, but dind't find anything at all, so here is my request:

Next week, my players will (very likely) defeat Ardimarchus and return to Cauldron, finishing the Shackled City AP. Unfortunately there is very little information in the book of what happens after the heroes's return.

After two years of gaming I want to give the players and their heroes proper respect and a great celebration. There is already mentioning of statues in their honor in the book, but i need something more:

I need a rousing speech honoring the heroes of Cauldron (written by Jenya because she was elected temporary "ruler" until a proper one is determined - but it is not that important that the speech is written from her perpective).

Does anyone has an idea where to get "demo-speeches" or does someone did something similar and can send me a pdf or something?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank You.

If Cauldron has suffered losses over Foundation of Flame or later adventures, this adaptation might fit:

"X score and Y years ago our fathers brought forth on this volcano, a new city, conceived in Liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.

Now we were engaged in a great interplanar war, testing whether that city, or any city so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure. We are met on a great battlefield of that war. We have come to dedicate a portion of that field, as a final resting place for those who here gave their lives that that city might live. It is altogether fitting and proper that we should do this.

But, in a larger sense, we cannot dedicate — we cannot consecrate — we cannot hallow — this ground. The brave men, living and dead, who struggled here, have consecrated it, far above our poor power to add or detract. The realm will little note, nor long remember what we say here, but it can never forget what they did here. It is for us the living, rather, to be dedicated here to the unfinished work which they who fought here have thus far so nobly advanced. It is rather for us to be here dedicated to the great task remaining before us — that from these honored dead we take increased devotion to that cause for which they gave the last full measure of devotion — that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain — that this city, under St. Cuthbert, shall have a new birth of freedom — and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth."

Citizens, I welcome all of you to this gathering. We have come to celebrate, and to remember. When our city of Cauldron was founded by Surabar Spellmason nearly 700 years ago, it was to create a place of safety against the predations of the denizens of the Demonskar. For Surabar knew that the time would come when demons would interfere with our lives again.

And times of strife did arrive in the city of Cauldron. We lost our way when High Priest Sarcem died, and were tested by the flood waters that rained down on us. We survived the great fire that erupted from a small flophouse here in our city, and threatened to burn us all out of house and home. We ran in fear when creatures from other planes appeared out of the air. And when the earth rumbled and split, we prayed that we would survive and live on.

Throughout these tests, one group of people stood taller than all others, recognized the true threats, and did what had to be done. They have returned from other worlds, having removed the central cause of our problems. They have traveled to the heart of our suffering, and have punished it on our behalf.

We stand now at a time that Spellmason himself would be overwhelmed to consider. We stand at a time when demons do not threaten our homes. Rather than hiding behind out walls, justice has prevailed by people stepping out and finding our tormentors where they live. And for this, we must thank <group's name>.

Welcome all, to the start of a new era.

keep going, this is going somewhere great. Material for the later chapters is extremely scarce ... TheRPGenius needs you...

Hear, hear! Keep it going, this is nice to see. I was not giving nearly as much thought to any kind of celebratory speeches and the like, but the volcano is rumbling and soon lava will fill the streets of the city, so I will need something pretty soon.

What would be really cool, is if you could have gotten someone to record it and then you could play it to the group. Nothing adds a level of reality like hearing an unknown voice introduced to the campaign as an NPC.
