Polymorph question

Rules Questions

I have a question about the spell "Beast Shape I". Do you acquire the natural armor of the creature polymorphed into? So, for example, if you cast Beast Shape I and changed into a small crocodile would your natural armor be +4 for the crocodile and then +1 bonus for the spell for a total of +5 to your ac from natural armor?

And what if you had a mage armor spell on you before you polymorphed? Would that bonus also still be active after you polymorphed into the above mentioned crocodile for a total of +9 to your ac?

Thank you in advance for your help.

You only get the Natural Armor indicated by the spell, you do not add that of the original animal. Please note that this is an 'effective' Natural Armor bonus, not an enhancement to Natural Armor, so a Barkskin spell or an Amulet of Natural Armor would still work when polymorphed. However, it replaces the Natural Armor bonus you could possess from your original race (the spell specifically says 'you gain a +X Natural Armor bonus', not 'the spell increases your Natural Armor bonus by +X').

As for the Mage Armor, since it gives an Armor bonus, you keep it while polymorphed (unless you also possess a 'physical' armor with the Wild special quality, in which case you would keep the higher bonus granted).

Yep mage armor works a treat because its a spell. You just have to remember to be out of wild shape before it activated if coming from an item like my druid.
