I have a pair of Shillelagh spells memorized, so I can offer someone the use of my magical scimitar for a while. Any takers?

Bryson takes a look around.

Male Dwarf Shielded Fighter 5

"Hmph!" Dgrim wades through the mangled bodies, body parts, crates, and cages to get to the closer of the entrances to the cave. He peers inside and listens.

Perception: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (4) - 1 = 3

Bindlplotz assists Annie, then goes to assess the impact of the water on his gear.

"Whut manner o'insanity 'appen'd 'ere anyhow?"

Annie and Bindlplotz go to soak down the hull of the beached ship, trying to prevent it from catching fire from the burning oil on the water.

Dgrim goes to the cave entrance to peer inside and listen.

Dgrim:

You see down an empty tunnel, but more ominous than that are the faint sounds of insane shrieking and howling.

Spinnaker Jon stands at the shore, the waves washing over his feet periodically, looking at the water and frowning.

Bryson and Ghirrak wander around looking at the body parts, crossbow bolts sticking out of several bodies, and some interesting looking cases which might contain pirate loot. As he leans down to pick up a box lid. A savage pirate erupts from the debris and is on Bryson in a moment.
Everyone sees it might have once been a man, but now its gray skin, strangely flopping arms and legs, and the vacant-eyed vestigial head hanging from its neck nake the creature anything but. Yet perhaps worst of all is the creature's mouth, a cavernous wound in its twisted face filled with a twisting landscape of teeth, a mouth designed for one thing only--the tearing of flesh from the bone.
Scimitar 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8 Miss!
Bite: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (12) - 2 = 10 Miss!

And down the beach to the south, you see another one burst out of a pile of bodies and run towards Annie and Bindlplotz.

I want to wait to see what #3 does.

Did bindl have a chance to clear all his gear or am I hose with just the bayonet?

Bindlplotz has not yet had a chance to clear his weapons, he was going to help Annie quell the fire first.
Its clear that Red 3 is heading for Annie and Bindlplotz.

"They didn't stop until dead before," Annie said, "so I guess that means we just kill them quickly!" With a yell she charged forward, dancing over the tops of a number of crates to jump down to U-23 and attack the ragged creature in front of her. The attack hits, but doesn't seem to hurt him. Frustrated mightily, Annie gives a savage howl and bites him with her fanged teeth.
Hit! for 1d4 ⇒ 2 damage. It tasted just as foul as you would expect and she spit it out immediately, but the thing howled in pain and rage; it didn't ignore that damage as it did her rapier...

Everyone heal up. Anyone need some help with that?

Round up loot and explore the beach some more. Not forgetting to detect magic.

Male Dwarf Shielded Fighter 5

Dgrim grimaces in pain from the combined effects of his sword wound and his acid wounds. "Curse the savages to all the nine hells!" he cries. He heads back to the mouth of the cave. "There's more of those things in here, I'm sure."

"Best not push me luck any further."

Bindlplotz then clears and reloads his weapons with dry powder.

Examination of the bodies in tis area shows them to be devoured with a ferocity that belies reason—bones gnashed in a single crushing bite, entire lengths of flesh and muscle ripped free. It is also obvious that the battle broke out suddenly between friends and allies. Crossbow bolts riddle the few savage pirates slain, and the mingling of deformed corpses and those nearly completely devoured is demonstrative of the infighting that took place.

Near the south point, where the rickety wood bridge is, two sea cats lie dead on the rocks, still chained fast to a heavy iron stake embedded in the ground.

The fires on the water are dying down now, ony a couple of charred masts sticking out of the water; smoke still lies heavy in the air. The one ship that beached was actually gutted by fire on the side away from the beach, so you didn't see the damage until you boarded it. Only the ship at anchor out in the middle of te inlet seems undamaged; you see no sign of life there aside from Spinnaker Jon's parrot.

Searching the beach uncovers only three items of value:
A leather sack of stolen Saffron (Very rare, exotic and expensive, used in perfumes and spices).

Appraise DC14:
Worth 600gp.

A crate of fine dishware, still unbroken.
Appraise DC10:
Worth 200gp.

A case of Potions of Cure Moderate Wounds stolen from a naval frigate (of which only three survive intact [will heal 2d8+4ea.]).

Abruptly he takes his hat, boots and coat off and dives in. A few minutes late he surfaces out in the inlet and swims to the beach again.

"Lookee what I found!"

As it turns out, Spinnaker Jon had spotted an area on the sea bed that was scoured bare of life. The rocks and sand gleam, with not a trace of seaweed or barnacles or crabs or anything to be found.

In the middle he found a fist sized black pearl that had been shattered into five jagged chunks.

Appraise DC15:

Intact you would never have had to work again in your lives; but even broken, the chunks are worth 250gp each.

Dgrim heads over to Jon to see what he found. "Lemme see that, Jon. Hmm...this broken black pearl could get us 1250 pieces. Good eye, Jon!"

Female Human Cleric 6 {HP: 37 /37 AC: 21}

Annie stared for a second blankly as the ferocity of battle dies down, then blinked and scratched the side of her mouth as something began to itch. She realized with horror it was blood dripping from her mouth, and dashed for the water where she threw up with disgust.

After retching for a moment, she moved farther along the shore and scooped up a handful of seawater into her mouth, washing it around before she spat it back out, shuddering at the awful taste. Sobbing, she scooped up another handful, but let it slip through her fingers as the blood on her hands and nails registered. She furiously began to wash her hands in the flotsam filled water, her vision so obscured by her tears and her ears so full of her own sobs that even if anyone tried to comfort her, she wouldn't notice.

"By the gods, look at the size o'that pearl remains."
