The second patron project using the Pathfinder RPG rules has been announced — and the project may also wind up using the Golarion setting, exploring a set of lost Azlantean ruins!
For more details or to contribute to the project with your own ideas, take a look at the adventure summary and sign up as a patron.
Participation in this project is likely to be capped to a limited number of patrons, so please sign up today.

Hey Folks! Brandon Hodge here!
Just wanted to update you guys on From Shore to Sea, the new Open Design patronage project that is in negotiations with Paizo to use the Golarion setting, featuring the first adventure focusing on secrets of Old Azlant!
While waiting for approval, we've gotten off to a great start. Patronage is over 50% of our goal, and we've had a great run of brainstorms so far, including Creatures of the Shore and Sea, Adventure Outline Plotting and The Decaying Glory of Old Azlant.
Patrons get a chance to help shape the adventure and contribute ideas to the creation process from the ground floor all the way up to publication of the final adventure. You'll get to see what goes into designing an adventure module, influence encounters, toss out ideas, get sneak peeks, vote on the direction the designers are taking and thoroughly playtest the adventure before it hits the shelves!
Anticipation for this one is high, and patronage may be capped to ensure that everyone gets the most out of the experience. Check it out and let us know what you think!

There's usually a short wait until we send an invite note and get your access to the private design board set up.
You should have access within 24 hours, if not, hit us up in email.
There's a short Open Design FAQ that covers most of the basics.

I am already signed in for "From the Shore to the Sea" and have even posted profusely on the various brainstorm threads.
I am curious though: What is/was the first patron project using the Golarion setting? I thought FtSttS was the one and only so far.

If all gets approved, this will be the first one using the setting, but one other patron project from Rite Publishing was the first to use the PRPG rules, making this the second to do so.
At least I think that's the case.

Oh, I hope that the patronge stays ope for another 3 weeks, that's when I'll be getting my first sidejob money coming in, and I can afford it...
You had me at Azlant!
They rarely ever "close" to new patrons, until they're finished.
You will see the price go up after it has been fully funded however. But new patrons are taken almost up to the point of final release. The monies raised from later patrons often help to get better artwork and maps.
But you get your best value from joining at the start.

So I wrote up a barbarian over the last couple of days from a fishing village off of the pillars of Ankifer (in Cheliax), whose kin had unwholesome relations with the local Gillmen in a sort of 'Innsmouth Look' homage, only to see that an entire adventure is being written about this sort of idea?
How cool is that! More Lovecraft-y goodness in Golarion is way, way welcome.

Ah... alright. Thanks for the information.
Wolfgang did write "using the Pathfinder RPG rules", I somehow implied "Golarion project", my mistake. Back to self flagellation "PRPG is not Golarion only... PRPG is not Golarion only..."

I sure hope you guys do come to a lasting agreement, Wolfgang you do such great work...you'd be a great 3PP of Golarion material...especially if you ran with Alkenstar!!!
+1. Paizo wants very little to do with Alkenstar, if not absolutely nothing. But someone with such a knack for steampunk might be able to develop this part of the world without much fear of stepping on the toes of future Paizo products...cause there won't be any of them. But one thing at a time.

I wanted to pitch Alkenstar very, very badly, but the Azlant idea already had a lot of steam behind it, so here we are!
Maybe next dance!

Nope, we're still in discussions. I'm not counting any chickens until it's entirely agreed.
I'll definitely definitely definitely shout it from the rooftops if and when Paizo and Open Design agree to terms.
Hee-hee! For a moment there, it sounded as if a chick not only hatched, but it got loose and ran out of the coup.
When you shout, will you also make any announcement about whether old projects would be available for purchase by new supporters? If I could get Azlant, ghouls, and Arabian Tales all in one fell swoop, it would more than make up for being late to the party. :)

That should be great too.
As mentioned above, Paizo wants very little to do with Alkenstar, thus the format of Open Design: "People who pay for producing what they want" would solve the issues of limited, too focused, interest that does not sell.
First things first though, us patrons should do our best so that "From the Shore to the Sea" becomes a classic and grabs an Ennie, to show the Paizo boys that Golarion is safe when handled by respectable hands. :)

This project would be complete from the design stage by the end of the year, if enough people support it to move ahead.
All three of the Pathfinder and 4E projects currently under consideration will be available to the public eventually (if they go ahead, that is). So, you could always pick this up after the design/patron stage.
You'd probably miss out on a few inside bits like the discussions with Paizo, some chances for feedback and for designing something for publication, but you'd gain the chance to wait and see it when it's all done.
