American band The National's version of The Rains of Castamere. This will appear on the GoT S2 soundtrack.
If you've read the third book in the series, A STORM OF SWORDS, you may recall the highly memorable scene in which it appears. This is actually a very strong version of it and it should go well with that scene in Season 3. Presumably we should hear it in the show before the end of S2, if it's on the soundtrack.

Early in the first season, I can remember really disliking Tyrion Lannister. Somehow he became my favorite character without my noticing.
Out of all the Lannisters that Sansa should end up spoilering, Tyrion was probably the best option to spoiler. (That's book 3 I'm talking about.)

They released season one within a month of the season two premier, so way too long.
Looks like they've moved Brienne escorting Jaime home up by a bit; I wonder if we'll see Jaime get spoilered by the end of this season?
I don't know. That's a hard thing to pull off with a character that has as much screen time as Jamie does. It wouldn't be the first adaptation to TV to skip that particular type of spoilering.

Seeing as how Tyrion came out of the battle grievously hurt, but with his nose intact, I wouldn't be surprised if they spoiler Jaime (next season I guess) in a less cosmetically obvious way that has the same effect on his character.

I hope they figure something out, it is kind of a major character development point for him.

Angel spoilered a major character, so it can be done. I'm hoping they do.

Given the title of the thread, I'm thinking that they won't flinch. As someone who knows *nothing* of the novels, I was biting my nails when Tyrion took that blow to the head, knowing only that Martin is infamous for ganking off significant characters!
[tangent]As for Angel, that's just one of four Joss Whedon shows I would have enjoyed more if the *main* character went out for a smoke and never came back...[/tangent]
I'm actually surprised with how his interactions with Ayre has humanized Tywin, who came across as pretty nasty, in his first few appearances. Even Cersei had her moment, when she confessed to Tyrion that she and Jaime would rationalize to themselves that the Targaryen's used to do the same thing, and how she felt Joffrey was her punishment.
And yet, for all the characters that have humanizing moments, we've got characters like Theon, who seem to be digging themselves deeper and deeper, and his people, who seem to lack any redeeming qualities whatsoever, and Catelyn Stark, who seems to have an uncanny knack for deciding to do the worst possible thing, at every turn...

It takes much longer in the books, but it happens.
I started watching the show before I read all the books, but I liked Tyrion from the first moment I saw him, and that was only strengthened the first time he smacked that little b$!+* of a nephew.
In the books he quickly became my favorite character - the only one I would actively cheer for.

Also: I keep expecting the Hound to reply "Yarp" to someone.
?
recalls who's playing Sander
Oh damn it I don't know if you just ruined The Hound for me or made him better.
I am really happy with how Brienne turned out. I kept finding myself mentally remarking "damn she's huge" even knowing it going in. Really looking fowards to Seasons 3+4 now.
Between this and Portal 2, I'm wondering why I haven't given The National a closer listen...

Yeah, I gotta admit that kid is a really good actor. I'd certainly be tempted to b!#~+ slap him if I met him in real life.
He is very good. So good that I read online that he has been so belivable as Joffery that the actor has been getting threats. Because of this Jackie Glesson has said after GoT, He will not act much anymore.
A shame, He is really good.

I was honestly afraid this was going to happen.
Some people.
I'll be honest. I was actually half-relieved when Ros took a swing with that....thing. That wasn't the immediate use for it I had assumed when Joffrey presented it. That scene was rough enough as it was.

Anyone else notice, in the scene with Pycelle and Tyrion (in the S2 Finale), how awesome the actor that played Pycelle was? All through the show, aside from one or two scenes, he's always acting befuddled and is constantly stumbling through what he is trying to say--but in THAT scene, we see how much of a facade that really is, the twinkle in Pycelle's eye, the subtle (okay not so subtle) smirking at Tyrion's situation, the coin, everything... that was just awesome!

He's very good. He was the villain in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade!
Also, the actor playing Varys is absolutely fantastic. Much better than I could have hoped for.

Woah. Awesome.
And yeah, the entire small council is awesome, but I think Varys is my absolute favourite.

Dude, he (Pycelle that is) worked with Darth Vader under the name "General Veers."
Can't wait for next season with Tywin as Hand of the King; nobody does tall patrician son of a b%#%* like Charles Dance. It's funny, none of those Tywin vs, Arya scenes are in the book, but I love-love-loved them.
Also can't wait for more of the Tyrion/Varys stuff, those two are awesome together.

Hey, at least he's still got his nose.
Having not read the books, I'm watching each season first, then going to the next book. It's working out well so far. I can enjoy the show as its own artifact, and then the book. Somehow the changes aren't as jarring that way as they are the other way round (reading a book and then watching a film version.) Now if only I didn't have to wait until April...*mumblegrumblegrump*

Just for kicks: This guy took two of the best covers of the show's main theme found on Youtube (one rock version, the other done with violins) and combined them.
