Golarion needs OGL/PFRPG versions of the Jacks too, something more defined, something unique... instead of just pulling out a golem from the MM or importing warforged from Eberron.

Maybe in time for next year's PaizoCon Wayfinder?

See? She does love us!
Yay!

I knew there was something I liked about that girl! Beside, you know, the obvious.

How is the 'OGL Slaadi 2.0' project coming along, Ambrosia?

Didn't get anything done. Got stuck late at work, ate on the way home, went right to bed but tossed and turned till 3:45AM, got up, couldn't get my cellphone account swapped to the new phone ('cause the company website is stupid), realized that my contacts were only shipped for my right eye (left lenses should be here in a week), ate some leftovers and coffee for breakfast, diet Pepsi for lunch, sitting here housesitting/dogbodying and trying to stay awake.

Maybe tomorrow will be more productive? :)

Sheesh - you have my sympathies. Those are not the kind of days to have... :(

May your weekend be much more fun than this, then. And may your Muse return with a fury :)

It was a passing moment of weakness, brought on sleep deprivation and a severe pancake and bacon deficiency. I certainly don't "love you all."

Ok, one of you. :)

Ok, must go, long drive home. May need to stop at an IHOP too.

Thanks. Hope you have a good one too.

Time for me to head home and get ready for my RL game. Have a good weekend everybody :)

Devlyn just shakes his head, a knowing grin on his face. "Here you go guys."

Hands the two a tray of Dark & Stormys to drown their delusions in. ;D

And after a wondrous morning of power outages, crashed servers and missing data, I have returned. Happy Monday Everybody ;P

Carefully steps into the hot tub, and sets Ambrosia down in it to warm up.

So did your muse come back to you over the weekend? :)

Subject Rick Astley has already been assimilated. Downloading to video display units now. I designate this sector Sector Playboy.

Assimilates Rust Monster This new drone will be useful in accessing sectors that are not currently open to us.

Hm... it will be interesting to see what happens when the Bio-chip virus is assimilated.

Ooo, toasty... mmmm

Sorta. CourtFool was right; the three Protean species/races actually are better masters of Chaos and the Maelstrom than the Slaadi were in D&D 2/3.x; better lore and better abilities. I'll have to recast the Loktross ("Ce'pel'raloktross", working name) aka OGL/PFRPG Slaadi... maybe as border patrol/guerillas/elite infantry with the Proteans already being the big guns (tanks & gunships).

Oooooo Ambrosia, interesting where can I find anything on Pathfinder's Slaads and the proteans? I have money and I'm willing to spend it.

Morning All :)

"She is, from the few times I've spoken with her. However, she does have a temper, as some of the other Jacks found out the hard way during that wee invasion into the Slaad thread a few weeks back. She's very protective of her sister - which speaks very well of her character, in my humble opinion."

That doesn't sound like a bad idea at all. It still allows them to keep their flavor, and tie in with the Proteans. It should be interesting! :)

Commuting time for me :)

Fun drive - yay. [twitch] :P

G'night all!

Hope the Jacks & Jills don't mind; at least we're increasing the post count for the thread.

BluePigeon, the Proteans are only in two Pathfinder products that I know of so far: Legacy of Fire #4 has the two "lower powered" Proteans, and The Great Beyond has the top Proteans, as well as much info on the Maelstrom. Unless you are running some high-end (or suicidal) PCs, I'd stay the heck out of the Maelstrom and avoid combat with even the "weaker" Proteans... they can do some serious whup-ass.

Slaadi, unfortunately, are like Mind Flayers, Beholders, and the Gith races: not OGL. So they sadly won't ever pop up in canon Pathfinder stuff. When WotC had their "world-building contest" years ago, I created a PC race for my setting that was an offshoot of an amphibiod creator race that also split into the kuo-toans and the slaadi. Thankfully, I never entered it (Yay for Eberron, BTW), but WotC kept the slaadi non-OGL, so I started creating a replacement for them just for my lore.

Well, if you have a low- to mid-level party that ends up on the Maelstrom borderlands, you do not want to tangle with Proteans (unless you like creating new characters). The "Loktross" (nee Slaadi) would be more moderately-powered threats to intercept/interact with PCs while still in border areas, and infantry for the Proteans when they lead invasions into Axis or Hell.

I think one of the Jacks already wrote up an origin for the Jacks and Jills, but I think they could also tie into the Clockwork Cathedral (and the Assembler) in Absalom.

Sigh, I just got three more Pathfinder books and I'm still jonesing for more. Looks like I better get used to eating beans, rice, lentils, and plain oatmeal... some things are more important than fancy food. ;)

Good point - that's the perfect niche for them to fill then. I'll make sure to avoid playing any lawful characters when you're around! :D

Heh heh - don't worry, you're not alone in your cravings. I'm just glad I can afford to subscribe to most of the stuff I want :)

Yes, the Non-OGL. Thank WotC for being greedy and unreasonable. Oh well, at least Paizo is 3.5 backwards compatible. Can publish it offically, but un-officially its another matter.

Morning Everybody :)

Time for me to head out. A pleasant evening to all :)

JH walks to the limo in a pair of bermuda shorts and sunglasses.

You know, it's been too long since we've had a party.

Turns on 'Party Mode' and gets into the hot tub in the back of the limo.

Molly, Muffy, and Mindy grab some tequila bottles from the bar and climb into the hot tub.

Now this is more like it. Hey, where's LJ? We have to start getting her drunk now if we want her to participate in the wet T-shirt contest later.

This looks like it will be a hard-won Friday....bleh.
