I have started running an occasional game with my wife, brother-in-law and some of the older kids in the family. No regular schedule, mostly just when we go visit and the in-laws are willing to watch the little kids for a few hours. Should I be reporting each game as a "session" of the same on-going home game, or should I report each game as a new "event" and get a new event number for each game?

It's probably easier to do multiple sessions of the same event. I don't think it makes a difference to anyone but you and your players.

I'm having a bit of a problem when reporting sessions. If I run a new session using an old scenario that I have run before, and add myself to the end of the session sheet, it says that all prestige points are null because I have run the scenario before. It also blocks all prestige to all of the new players. Am I not reporting correctly?

I am running into the same problem. I am receiving this message:
Player has already played scenario at session # 1 of event # 790 skull moon game on August 23, 2009.
This is occurring in an event I attended, and it is also occurring in a separate event that I ran while attempting to add my character and receive the DM reward. Neither works. Anyone have a solution for this, or is the problem a result of moving servers and settings?
I want to make sure all players get credit, because they will be playing at DragonCon this weekend...
Thanks,
M

I had a similar situation and Josh requested that I send an email to him directly. Here's his response:
We're working on a change right now that I hope corrects this sort of stuff. The change will go into effect after the Great Paizo Move of 2009. I'll hang on to your email and see if the issue is still plaguing you after the fix.

Thanks. I will send him an email and hope they can use their characters at DragonCon.

It's my understanding that if you have already run the scenario then you can't get any reward for it when you run it again. So if you've run it before then you shouldn't be adding your character to the session sheet.

Josh said in the FAQ thread that if you run a scenario again for which you got no credit in Season 0, you can get credit for it this time. This allows people who have already run all 28 S0 scenarios to get credit for them if they run them again for new players.
I think the issue here is not what is and isn't allowed, but rather that the reporting software on paizo.com was never updated to allow for GMs to receive credit. I have, in the past, run into situations where I reported events out of order, and because I reported one where I ran an event before I reported my slot 0 of the same scenario, I got the error message on both sessions. Simply reopening each one and clicking "update" eliminated them, but I fear it won't be so easy if you're reporting a GM as both player and GM in the same session.
At this point, I'd suggest (completely unofficially, of course) that people report things as they have been instructed and ignore the errors. When Gary or Ross get around to fixing the bug, it should correct itself. And if it doesn't, you can always go back in and edit any previous session down the road to manually correct it or provide a different fix.

As long as your players have their signed, printed chronicles at DragonCon, they'll be fine. No one other then a player can access their own PC's sessions, except the organizer and GM for the specific tables they reported/ran. So no one at DragonCon would even know that there is a reporting issue. If they choose to audit anyone's character, that is done by looking at Chronicles, not online, anyway.

Yesterday I reported two games I had run and included my own character to claim a GM reward and had no problems. The two scenarios were season 0 but I hadn't run them before. So I think the software may be making the same assumption as I did.
I am still wrestling with this glitch, and it was also with a Season 0 scenario that I had neither run nor played before. (Session #19 of Event #51, if Gary or Josh happens to be reading this and needs that info.)

:D
In the same session, on the same day? Those bastards!

new question, same subject...
I ran a 2 session game a couple of weeks ago. We had so many people show up that we had to split both sessions into 2 tables. I reported them all, but only one table of each session shows up on the event report. And I didn't know just how to claim the GM reward, so didn't enter them. I gather that I can edit the two sessions that show up to add the GM's characters for their reward, but how do I add the entire second tables with their GMs?

Each table should be its own session. so if you ran two slots of two tables, you should report four sessions. Then you should see them all.
