Ok, since we have a Manga thread in the Comic book section, I decided to start an Anime thread. So go on and suggest some good Anime to me. I already have Ghost in the Shell and FullMetal Alchemist as well as the first Appleseed movie. What else is good?

Fireball(Disney japan)
Go to you tube.

Shadow Lodge

Pathfinder Lost Omens, Rulebook, Starfinder Adventure Path, Starfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

I suggest looking here and here

The second ones not so up to date, but I try to update the first when I have a chance, heh.

Also if you're not watching Fullmetal Alchmist: Brotherhood, 07-Ghost or Valkyria Chronicles than get to it!

*Edit - And if you're not watching Eden of the East get to it aswell!

Scarab Sages

Samurai X: Trust and Betrayal (Watch this if you don't see anything else on this list) I cried

Code Geass (mechs, super-powers and lots of big 'talented' fan-service)

Death Note (Brilliant Killer with a killing note book vs. Brilliant Detective)

Anything by Studio Ghilbi (Grave of the Fireflies, Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke)

Gungrave (Much better than the name and game suggest - brilliant character development)

Cheers! :D

For the Gundam fans out there Gundam Unicorn has been confirmed for this winter!

This series marks the return to the original Gundam UC timeline and is set in the year UC0096, three years after Char’s Counterattack.

Not on most peoples anime viewing list, but one of my personal favorites!

Interstella 5555

The Exchange

Don't we already have a couple of anime threads about the place,

I'd actually give FMA Brotherhood a miss as you have the oiginal series and so far I prefer it to the new stuff,(it tells the same story too).

Most of the recent Gundam stuff is also fairly good, SEED, SEED Destiny, and 00 especially so.

Yeah Code: Geass definately a see, Rental Magika is a good one to track down.

Skip Beat is a great one to see available Link. along with a number of other titles and sign up for the membership if you can afford the $6 a month the extra acess is worth it and helps keep those lovely animators in a job.

Sovereign Court RPG Superstar 2008 Top 16, 2010 Top 4

Watch out for the new Neon Genesis Evangelion films, which are a re-telling of the original tale. Not seen the first one as I'm waiting for all to come out before watching.

Cheers! :D

BERSERK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(Everything else is Sub-par after this)

(Oh if you do watch it whatever you do not! do not! do not! Skip to the end!)

Macross, Gankutsuo (adaptation of The Count of Monte Cristo w/ SF dressing--superb!), Samurai 7 (SF adaptation of The Seven Samurai), Le Chevalier D'Eon, The Big O, X - The TV Series, Cowboy Bebop (that should keep you busy for awhile!)

I quite liked Kurau: Phantom Memory. Any enjoyable little sci-fi romp with a super-powered mercenary on the run from the global police with her 'little sister.' Of course there's more to it then that :D. Same studio and director as Fullmetal Alchemist. Good luck finding the US DVDs, A.D.V. seems to have done a very limited run. I actually had to get disk 5 here at Paizo :D.

As many say,Full Metal Alchemist is great.
Now I recommend Full Metal Panic. It's also good.

Another factor that might come into play is whether or not you choose to go with domestically available anime (ie. Anime for sale in places like the U.S. or Canada) or anime that hasn't been licensed in the western countries.

Domestically available anime that might be of interest would include: Twelve Kingdoms (MediaBlasters), Rurouni Kenshin (MediaBlasters)/Samurai X (ADV), Emma (RightStuf), Slam Dunk (Crunchyroll streaming), Claymore (Funimation), Story of Sainkoku (Funimation), and School Days (Crunchyroll streaming).

And fyi, Twelve Kingdoms has the series novelization available domestically by Tokyopop, Rurouni Kenshin/Slam Dunk/Claymore are available in manga form by Viz, and Emma has a manga series from cmx comics.

I really like When They Cry, myself, but have only seen a small amount of it.

Anyone with any interest in the dark, gritty sword & sorcery genre should watch Berserk. Afterwards, they should all read the manga.

It is probably one of the most epic, disturbing and heart wrenching stories ever told in an anime/manga.

Also, as mentioned earlier: 12 Kingdoms was fantastic. You should also give Blood + a try as well. It's probably one of the best vampire stories to come out of the eastern hemisphere.

And Funimation has licensed the Spice and Wolf anime, more info can be here or here.

And Bandai has also announced it's upcoming release of the Lucky Star OVA, as well.

The slayers
Record of lodoss war

-Macross Frontier (someone already had the original series listed; continues the tradition)

-Berserk (dark, gritty, entertaining)

-Several of the UC Gundam series (Zeta, 08th MS Team, 0080, and 0083)

-Martian Successor Nadesico (spoof of giant robot anime)
