My campaign opens the book on AP14 tonight, so I'm opening the thread for Zim's great comics, and all manner of sillyness we come up with.

So buckle up and enjoy :)

Well, we had a transition session to mop up loose ends from SitS and start into the plot of CotV. More detail to come, but I have a funny story to relate.

Our party managed to take Saul alive and we used him as a negotiating tool with Lavender Lil to sweeten the deal in our negotiations for the Silken Vale to buy a partial share in the Golden Goblin, in partnership with Avery and one of the PC's.

When asked how she wanted him presented to her she told our face man "Just bring him by the temple. We take deliveries in the rear."

DM hangs head in shame

At least the vault encounter, aka the Benny Hill/Mimic fiasco still has me laughing.

SRD Mimic +:

Treasure Hor(de)k (ex): A mimic can disgorge the contents of its gullet in an explosive spray of coins, striking all foes in a 10' cone w/ a ranged touch attack for 4d4 damage. The coins are coated in the mimics natural adhesive, any create struck by the spray must make a DC 16 ref save or be blinded. This lasts until the coins are removed, this can be done with a DC 16 Str check, after 5 rounds the DC decreases by 3/round. Strong alcohol will dissolve the adhesive immediately. The mimic may use this attack every 1d4+1 rounds. It may be used at a part of a full attack.

The only thing that's gonna come out of last session is a saucy puppet show. An epilogue and a prologue for the first and second part of the AP in text form, max.

Okay, maybe an illustration of a ship going out to sea on the way to the Demon's Armpit, or whatever it was called. :)

Great work on both of these Xutah !

Thanks Apathy!

I know the story is a little disjointed since the comics only cover events of note from each session, but hopefully it captures the events accurately enough to make sense.

Dark Archive

yeah it makes good enough sense to me, BUt than i have read The adventures

[ic Zim]Zombies man, they creep me out!

[ic, Chaine]Do not fear, small friend, as my blade will cut these abobinations where they stand. I am far more worried about dragon turtles! [Chaine shudders as the pain memory of being scalded alive by the sea monster surges within his limbs] It appears that the whole world is against me swimming![/ic]

Chaine's first dip was interrupted by angry barracudas; the second swim he almost drowned; the third swim would have killed him by chasing barracudas if his speed had not been enhanced by Zim; and finally, the fourth outing was spent tied to a racing ship, dangling in the ship's wake, trying to avoid the snapping jaws of a dragon turtle while holding on to the cleric!

Liberty's Edge

It's not the unnatural abomination thing that bugs me. It's the thought of all that perfectly good meat going to waste. If not for the taint of undeath, those dead pinkskins could have fed a tribe of kobolds for a month! Skeletons are a much more efficient use of resources.

Liberty's Edge

[ic,Chaine]::Chaine bellows a laughter so loud that a scattering of sparrows flutters up to the sky out of a clump of bushes located approximately 400 feet from the party...::[/ic]

Swimming can be troublesome especialy when a Player character decieds that this 300ft underwater tunnel leads to treasure and doesnt turn back until he floats up to the sea on the other side on -1 Hps Luckily however the barbarian rescued him

We're gonna have to work on noise discipline. Better start casting message, I suppose. *Grumble, hiss*

I just knew I should have brought more moustaches...

Here is the latest update of our Second Darkness Campaign Chronicle. Bit of a nod to JTHM and JV for his inspiration.
It appears that Zim is a bit of a complainer. His shoes are probably too tight.

I just wanted to chime in and let all of you know that I am enjoying the HELL out of these comics. Every time that I see a new one results in a definitive grin. Talk to the Paizo guys. I would pay for a cell colored, printed, and bound anthology when this is finished. My $0.02.

I deeply appreciate the kind words and I'm glad you're getting enjoyment out of my modest efforts. Thanks!

As for selling the comic, I think this falls squarely under the CUP. It's done entirely for fun and I'm just happy to share my doodles with the community.

I will eventually be putting together a collected works "comic" with the individual chronicles, character stat blocks, and summaries of our IC email conversations for each module, but that's a fair way off. (Geoff, get with the editing already!). It will be laid out in InDesign with pagination intended for print, so keep your eyes peeled for that!

Again, thanks for feedback.

Sovereign Court

...and to get there we need to play more Second Darkness games. Our current rate of play for this campaign is too slow! We need more games as fuel for more of your comics! :)

Once every two weeks is fine by me. I can't draw any faster, or it'll seem like a chore. :)

And we don't want that!

I just wanted to take the opportunity to thank Paizo for the swarms of killer butterflies. They haunt my IRL nightmares now.

You will have to blame the DM for that, it's not in the module, but freaky/scary module needed to have more freaky scary stuff added to it.

Same with my friend the FSM, his great noodley teleport was not Paizo's fault either.

Liberty's Edge

Then I shall thank you for the nightmares. :) This has been a thoroughly enjoyable campaign so far, and the added creepiness is appreciated. Hard to tell where Paizo's brand of disturbing and yours begins. That's a good (and rare) thing!

I just hope Zim lasts long enough to keep chronicling the AP. Comics are the traditional kobold media for recording history, after all!

FSM should not be my enemy though. Yar! I be a Pirate too! :)

Uh oh, I'm having a conflict of interest between being an evil GM and wanting more comics, curses!

Plenty of soft, tastey pinkskins to toast. Just not poor, helpless Zim! ;)

Liberty's Edge

There's no chronicle this week due to our summer gaming schecule (I'm more distressed about that than you are), but I am taking reader's questions to do a filler comic, like what R.K. Milholland does with his Something Positive webcomic (actually, I'm totally ripping off his idea, but imitation is the most sincere form of flattery, right?).

The question I choose will be in the filler comic. Please don't ask anything that would violate the messageboard policies. Be prepared for a snarky answer (Zim's a sarcastic bastard). :)

Oh, and go read Something Positive. It's a great comic. A little PG-13 most of the time, so consider yourself warned!

EDIT: Deadline 2pm EDT :)

No animals were harmed in the making of this comic. Some carpenter ants were verbally abused, but that's it. Honest. :)

Here's a drawing of Zim by Gworeth. +5 illustration bonus to awesome! Thanks!

Liberty's Edge

Gworeth updated Zim to make his kobold for a little meaner. Gworeth is da awesomestest!

I'd just like to point out that this campaign comic is awesome. Great work.

Thanks. There will be a new one soonish. It's going to be part trip to the marine park, part epic battle.

Is this dead? That would sadden me, it's a cool story.

No, we've just moved on to Armageddon Echo. . There's another comic done and another on the way too...
