I am about half done, and I'm enjoying it immensely. There is this background "tenseness" that subtley prevails throughout and makes things interesting. Good stuff!

Nice! Yeah, that's definitely my favorite of the Kuttners... I think Dark World might pack the most ideas per page of any of the novels we've published.

I have one chapter left, and it has been a joy to read. Took me a little longer to read due to "real life," but well worth it. Keep 'em comin'!

If you can get the rights to his "The Well of the Worlds," it deserves republication too. I think it was actually slightly better than "The Dark World."

I'm confident we can get the rights to just about all of Kuttner's stories, and that one's on the list (I have it in about 5 different formats). That said, sales on Kuttner books aren't exactly what I would describe as "blockbuster," so here's hoping Robots Have No Tails knocks peoples' socks off.

How is Robots Have No Tails doing in sales?

It's doing OK. It didn't get a significant order for the book trade, which means there simply aren't that many copies in distribution. This means we don't have to deal with a lot of returns, which is nice, but it also means we will not be making much (or perhaps any) money on the book.

I got my copy directly from Paizo, and I don't think I ever saw a copy at a bookseller (unlike Ship of Ishtar; Dreamhaven Books had a few copies at their table this last WindyCon, and they sold at least one of them).

Dreamhaven is one of the very best stores in the entire country. I make a point to visit every time I'm back visiting family in Minneapolis. I really appreciate the way they have supported the Planet Stories line!

Well,I finally got The Dark World...I can see why you guys like it,I didn't mind it,but...only about a 6/10 for me. It's a pretty thin book too, couldn't you have thrown another story in with it!?! ;)

No,it was pretty cool I suppose...meanwhile I just bought an ebook reader so I can read all the Ray Cummings ones that I don't have and a whole lot of other cool old stuff that you guys will NEVER publish ;)

If I had it to do all over again, I would have bundled The Dark World with at least two other Kuttner short novels, probably Lands of the Earthquake and possibly Valley of the Flame. It didn't quite turn out to be as long as I'd hoped, and since then (with the exception of Robots, which got caught up in the format switch) I'm planning longer books for the line.

Glad you enjoyed the book!
