While reading a book by journalist Chris Hitchens, I came across an absolutely unbelievable recount...sadly, after looking it up, I discovered that this horrendous crime is really rather disgustingly commonplace.

Pakistani woman sentenced to be gang-raped in order to expiate her brother's supposed shame

This article is actually a few years old. I just can't believe that people sat down and literally deliberated to this judgment. It makes a great case for the idea that complete multicultural tolerance is wrong; there are universal values which it should go without saying are simply right, whether they go against another culture's values or not.

Sadly, stories like that (along with other inhuman crimes) seem to be the norm in certain parts of the world, and among certain cultures.
