Force, no. Elements heal him. Bullets (piercing) really hurt him, as did slashing.

The Hammer of Death wrote:

HoD turns his back on Acme, and steps towards Alaina.

Join with me woman of fire.

When HoD turns his back, Acme reforms his chain guns and fires both at HoD's midsection

Down steeping into the Sanctum, dressed in fine togas and attire of a by-gone roman stands a man in what appears to bronzed platemail. His hair is slick, long golden and combed back. He carries a large shield in hand. His other hand is adorn in a ceremonial gauntlet, plated all the way up to his forearm.

"It semms you have earned my attention, and through violence no less. Something no one has done in two score millennium. Cease desecrating my sanctum or suffer the consequences."

Begone, diety. Lest you find your immortality at an end. Death is Master of all. And I am his Reaper.

Sunny G chuckles, "deluded creature. I've died and rebirthed several times throughout my existance. I've walked the gulf brtween the stars and brought light and life to countless worlds. I can tell you death is but one stage in evolution and transmutation into a higher existance. And death is not the only force that releases life. You would seek to stop a natural progression and subvert for your master and his own ends. That stops here, no further."

HoD is staggered by the attack. He stretches an arm out towards Alaina.

Feed me!

a black mist snakes forth

The elven woman appears on the scene, looking scared but determined. She is holding a snakeskin glove crafted from the white hide of one of the most dangerous of constricting snakes of all, an Elysian Snow Boa. To those able to see such things, it radiates potent magic. (Artifact level sort of Bigby's hand item.)
Hammer of Death:

Spoiler:
Inside his head the Hammer of Death hears a voice ringing. Go back to the shadows and report your failure, cur; I remember when your master was bound in service to the flamegifter.

Djuhah does his best to shield Alaina from the mist, disregarding any harm that it might do to him.

Hammer of Death: ** spoiler omitted **

HoD looks upon the newcomer and his rage deepens. He straightens under the onslaught of the robot's guns. The black mist snaking towards Alaina becomes a spear, stretching to her collapsed form. It passes thru the djinn with no effect, and connects into a cord of black btwn the foes.

For Nirellia:

Spoiler:
Death has many weapons Old Wyrm.

Sunny G motions his arm to one side and a ring of iron rises out of the floor and around Alaina. It coats her in an iron liquid polish and pulls her into the floor where she disappears from sight.

Stepping out from HoD's visual periphery, stands a rather paculiar half-elf with two soulforged swords. He swings at Hod, one blade aiming for his throat and the other for his torso.

Corin Wisp wrote:

The soulforged blades strike true, but have an odd effect of HoD. He shrinks in size, but at the same time seems to draw energy from the swords. He continues to shrink, the bands of light connecting his form to that of the blades.

I taste...

One strike shocks Corin, the other burns him. They both damage HoD, but seem to excite him as well.

I haven't got a clear line of sight to it... Oh, men and their big swords.
With a resigned sigh, she takes a couple of steps back, and (for now) lowers the glove a little, but watches the fight which follows carefully.

Seeing that the priestess is no longer in danger, Djuhah joins the battle once more, swinging expertly at HoD, once more drawing blood.

HoD collapses from the combined attacks, and falls to the ground dead. His form dissolves, leaving the floor beneath him devoid of all life. Even stone becomes brittle. Cleaning will not remove the stain. It can only be covered.

When his earthbreaker falls the ground seems to open up to accept it, swallowing it quickly. Those sharp of eye see a deep chasm of red light before it winks out of existence.

Did that battle satisfy your bloodlust? ;)

Djuhah breathes heavily, sorely wounded. "Well, that was interesting. I came to fight, but I didn't realize it was as bad as that. Is it always like this around here?"

Djuhah the Djinn wrote:

Your wounds burn, yet you feel chilled. Magical healing is needed.

The elven woman tucks the glove away about her person somewhere once again. She turns to face the deity.
With the greatest respect, your holyness, your sanctum seems none too secure; perhaps because you are dealing with foes older than your knowledge?
They appear to be probing your defences, she glances here at the stain on the floor, and perhaps sacrificing pawns temporarily to breech them with areas of desecration which will not easily go away.

*BEEP*

Only on alternate Tuesdays sir.

"I see," he wheezes, clutching his chest where his broken ribs ache fiercely. Not to mention the rest of his wounds. He wasn't sure if he was going to burn or freeze, but he needed help soon. "Well, then, if you will please excuse me, I believe it is time for me to return home."

The broken rib moves towards your heart. The scrapes begin to fester. Death is persistant.

Djuhah stumbles towards the omniportal, and heads back to the Eyrie.

The cloaked figure reappears. He seems to examine the area for a moment.
"The Kobold Cleaver has been dealt with."

"Buddy, you missed the party." He sheaths his swords. "Who's Kobold Cleaver?"

Not yet, honorable Djinn. You sought with great courage and bravery and you fought to defend my disciples and my sanctum. For this act alone, I shall heal you.

Sunny G approaches the Djinn and infused him with divine energies. Healing his wounds and removing the taint from body and soul.

In order to fix a slight continuity break, Djuhah got through the omniportal before this could happen.

Arriving at the Sanctum, JH heads to the site of the battle.

Where is Alaina?! Have her wounds Been healed?!

Do not touch the earth where the creature fell, lest Death sneak up upon you.

LJ and JH arrive via the omniportal, closely followed by Djuhah.

Where is Alaina? Is she alright?

"There's is wisdoms in your words. Although I loathe to lay wards and magical defenses throughout my Sanctum. Perhaps consultation, divination and alliance, maybe several, are in order."

"Again you speak with wisdom. His attack had no meaning or direction. Again, I will meditate on this matter. For now I have other things that garnish my attention."

He again motions his hand and rising out of the floor is Alaina. The iron coating slowly retreats from her form. He places his hand on her shoulder and allows his divinity to flow through her, healing her as the seconds pass.

Okay, not problem. If I can,I can delate that particular post.

LJ sighs with relief as SunnyG heals Alaina. She couldn't stand it if anything more bad happened to her friend.
Is there anything that we can do about this? she asks looking at the dead spot with distaste. There is no music there. It is like someone put a piece of the Black right inside what is supposed to be a sanctuary of Light.

*Runs through the sanctum, chasing some poor meatbag he has been assigned to terminate*

The healing flow of energy perks up Alaina. She looks better, but is still unconcious. A new scar meanders across her belly, mixing in with the vine tattoos.

Vines are cool - the way they cling to stuff and grow all over it. I had a significant other who was like that once.

Post Monster ate my solution last night before crapping out again. I'll post it soon.

Post monsters are groovy.

JH relaxes when he sees Aliana being tended to by SunnyG. He turns his attention to the 'stain' left behind by the body and weapon of HoD. Walking to the bar he retrieves some salt, and returns to the blight. Kneeling next to it he crushes the granuals into a fine powder and sprinkles it over the spot, whispering in Terran. Beads of sweat appear on his brow, and he seems to be in battle with some unseen force.

Finally, the ground shrinks from the salt and blessing. After several long moments it stops and JH pauses, changing his words to ones of creation. New ground fills in the indentations.

That's all I can do. I have some salt left. Marguaritas, anyone? I'm really thirsty.

Yes, let's get you to the bar. I'll go ahead and mix up a drink for you in just a minute.
LJ kisses him, using the contact to send a wave of positive energy to restore him. She then does her best to mix a margarita before Acme kicks her out and insists on doing it himself.

I really like your kisses. They tingle.

The omniportal flashes and an elven lord steps thru. E7 walks to the prone form of Alaina, and kneels beside her. His face is grave.

She has been touched by Death, yes?

The cloaked figure seems to smile.
"Are you two still together? Heh.
"'Twill never last."
He sighs, seeing nobody, and departs.

"Yes, the strange blue one sent some sort of black misty spear into her. I tried to stop it, but it went right through me as if I weren't even there."

She smiles tenderly. You can have as many of them as you like.

E7 pulls a flask from his cloak. He dribbles some upon her forehead, her lips, and her wound. He mutters a few spells, trying to ascertain her condition. Placing his palm upon the wound from the spear his face becomes strained. He seems to be attempting to draw poison into himself.

Now we wait. She must return from this journey herself. Perhaps we can move her to a more comfortable space? Here, or at the Grove. One seems to be as vulnerable as the other.

LJ walks over to Alaina and kneels beside her. She softly sings a tune that you can't quite make out even if you try to listen to it. As she sings, the stars on her midsection twinkle in a strange pattern. She looks up, stars swirling in her eyes.

I've done my best to give her a map to find her way back. I think it would be best for her to stay here.

I tried to follow a map once....it kept leading me to the same place.

The elven woman departs, leaving the others to go about their business.

Sunny kneels besides his disciples. "I shall be the light that guides her home."

Concentrating his slowly merges his essence with her own. His attempt if he succeeds is to communicate with Alaiona wherever she may be.

"I hope that Alaina is going to be alright," she says, walking back over to JH and leaning her head against him. "She's obviously in good hands, but I still wish there was something more I could do."

A group of wandering gypsies bring their wagons to a halt a short distance from the walls of the sanctum. The menfolk are tall, lean, tanned, and have fierce expressions; the womenfolk are only occasionally glimpsed at the grimy windows of the wagons.
The men cast hungry gazes often in the direction of the Sanctum, and they talk with one another in their own tongue. They point at things, and occasionally seem to be arguing or discussing features of the Sanctum.

Whoa....gypsies are cool. They're like....free and stuff....going all over in really cool painted wagons. I had a wagon when I was little....a metal one....it was red, and I used to put my puppy in it an walk around.....I luv puppies...they're so cute and fuzzy, even when they chew on things....I chewed on some shrooms the other night....it made me feel groovy...wow, I just realized how much "groovy" sounds like "gravy".....I luv gravy, especially on mashed potatoes.....potatoes are really cool, and I like to make them into french fries....the french people are really cool too, and that city they live in is groovy, with all the lights and that tower and stuff.....

*The omniportal flashes as a fierce eagle soars into the Sanctum. When he sees nothing amiis, the eagle shifts to his elven form. Sky quickly moves to LJ.*

"I apolgize for not being here sooner, but someone had to guard my eggs. What happened here?"

Here and there in the landscape around the Sanctum hidden under stones, or in scrub, are little leather pouches, made of some fiend hide, with twists of white heather in. A couple of them also contain coins featuring a sun-god, with the deity's face crudely marred.
Low level supernatural warfare, intended to remain undetected except by a master diviner, and to bring general bad luck to any defenders of the Sanctum. Nirellia happened to spot one of these being planted by a gypsy and is off in the bazaar making inquiries.
