So, in the tradition of the 1st PaizoCon, Lilith and I would like to have some "fan-run" events to add to the Paizo-run events. Paizo shouldn't have to do it all, you know!
Ideas that have been floating are:
Iron Illustrator
Artist Alley
Prize drawings for fan-created/donated stuff
-a custom mini made by Lilith
-minis by N'wah
-character sketches by Butterfrog
-Pact Magic book by Dario Nardi
-the bugleyman Memorial prize drawing
Plus, what panel topics would YOU like to see at PaizoCon?
This is the thread to throw out some ideas!

I won't be there but I'd like to help. I can offer to draw for someone as well if need be. :)

Some of the proposed ideas I was getting in the chatroom are:
1.) Iconic Cosplay :P
2.) PFRPG games in other/older campaign settings, to show that it's not just for Golarion. Dark Sun and Planescape (pulp noir murder mystery in Sigil) were two of the recommended ones, along with Ravenloft.
You didn't mention my suggestions of strip D&D and 32 player, March Madness style 1-on-1 combat to the death.

As the one who suggested the second idea there, I'll also mention that I've had several ideas for a convention style adventure for the Forgotten Realms, stated up for PFRPG rules. Whether or not anything comes of those ideas I don't know, but I'll happily share whatever I do with you Lilith (and anyone else who wants to take a look).
That said, the Forgotten Realms isn't exactly that far out there of a campaign setting. So it may not be the best setting to press forward the whole point of having adventures in other settings using the PFRPG rules.

Not to be a killjoy, we really need to take this opportunity seriously. Paizo is agreeing to let us, their fans, come up with some events, games, panels, contests, etc. to run at the Con.
This is our chance to show Paizo how much we appreciate what they are doing for us, not only in terms of the Con, but also for the game they are making.
Lilith and I welcome all serious and viable ideas.

What events were held last year?
Events last year? Well, one day gave us:
1) Panel on Pathfinder (what Lilith and I called Pathfinder LIVE!)
2) Panel with Paizo staff and contributors talking about the gaming industry
3) Two sessions of gaming, 4-5 hours each, where Paizo staff and contributors, and many attendees ran one-shots, and many card and board games were played.
That was it. And it was enough for 30-35 people. :D

I'd highly suggest a panel about adventure building and Dming. Also panels about writing stories derived from the players games(Like dragonlance). A panel at running a company like Paizo would be nice or getting into the industry would be another suggestion.
Good suggestions, Flip. I have several of these types of panel ideas filed away. The "how to get into the industry" panel is a big hit at many cons. "Adventure Building" and "DMing 101" are also goodies.
Thanks!

I am totally stoked to run a one-shot again, and
perhaps even demo the Pathfinder edition of the pact magic books (I'm starting the process now.)
And I'm happy to contribute a pact magic book or two to a raffle.
If anyone wants to hear about the writing and publishing process from a small publishers point of view I am happy to contribute to that.

Let's see ...
-Game Auction where the proceeds are donated to charity?
-Since many of us are only able to interact together online, how about a panel on running Pathfinder (or other RPG's) in a Play-by-Post or Virtual Table Top format?
-Backwards Combatibility? A panel to discuss the challenges of using Paathfinder as system of choice when playing in other D20 settings / modules.
-Old Skool! Playing a classic D&D adventure using Pathfinder
-I am Actually Interested in your Character and/or Setting - Bring your GM or player notes, step up on the stage, and explain in 5 minutes how/why your material is great!
-PaizoCon Adventure Brainstorm - We gather to brainstorm ideas and concepts for a new adventure or setting. We then get one of the great Paizo writers / designers to put that baby into print.
There are some more idea's perkolating around, but I'm worried that it might be gas from last nights pizza, so I'll wait a little longer before adding to the list.

Khairn - I like all of those ideas! The "I am Actually Interested in your Character/Setting" idea cracked me up, but I think that could actually prove fun and interesting.
Oh, and having run a few wildly popular PbPs on the WotC boards, I'd be happy to offer some advice on running that kind of game. (I don't want to come across as arrogant with that statement...I just have quite a bit of experience with PbP and have learned a few tricks. It's possible the games were so popular because I kicked them off with some Dungeon adventures written by Logue ;-).

Dario's one-shot was excellent - and the pact magic had a great feel to it. 2nd this!

>.<; Please don't do the Seoni Contest this year! I told Boomer I wanted to do a costume of her, however, with another convention and working on making Lady of Pain for GenCon, I probably wouldn't be able to put the love into it for Paizo Con!
However, it would be a blast for a costume contest! If you needed ideas on how to run it or what have you, I have been involved in a few costume contests back stage in my day!
Other interesting events:
Con Scavenger Hunts are fun. Especially photo scavenger hunts so that you don't actually have to have a bag full of items or perhaps a missing sign or two
I had also thought of a panel I was maybe gonna start to put together for GenCon 2010, Girlfriends of Gamers. Just a get together of girls who maybe aren't as huge into the gaming, but joined the boyfriends they loved. We could sit around playing cards, board games or maybe even have discussions on our favorite boyfriend/gaming stories. I'm a gamer myself, but I thought it would be awesome to just make the non-gamer girlfriends feel more at home.
