You need not fight alone little ones. You asked the Earth and She has heard your plea.
The winds sigh, stirring up whirls along the ground. As they pass over the small eruptions the ground is made smooth once again. One by one, the hands disappear. Slowly, so slowly, JH and LJ begin winning the battle.

Azuri'ith |
Three Champions there were. Two lost their way. One has found it again.
The Wind Champion needs to know that she WILL grow, or else she will let her seed wither.
Foolish sapling! She carries within her a divine spark. She tried to trigger it in her desperation. She cannot withstand that. Not yet. Not for a long time. That you convinced her to bring forth her own healing energies was victory enough. Do not underestimate her.
The Dalesman |
From out of the undergrowth near the Omniportal, a majestic silver dragon strides forth. "What is going on," she growls. "I was told that Lynora and Jack were in danger, yet I see no danger here."
From Angel's backside is heard:
"Alright - what in the Nine Hells is going on now!?"Gracefully, if not so majestically, the Dalesman steps out of Angel's shadow. His blade is over his shoulder as he surveys the new surroundings.
;P
Azuri'ith |
Having been interrupted in the middle of a perfectly good rant, Azuri'ith realizes that he is being a bit foolish. He looks a little uncomfortable.
"I apologize for calling you a sapling. That was uncalled for. My granddaughter is important to me and I was being a bit overprotective. But please, do not try to give her training by threatening her mate again. She will throw everything she has at it, and her mind will splinter if she finds out what she is too soon. Let her grow at her own pace. Transformations are never easy."

I do not underestimate her Wind Lord. I fear for her.
I fear also for the Earth Champion, as he ties himself and the Earth to her fate more and more.
I am satisfied that she has found part of her self. There is enough for the seed to grow. Water and soil is what she needed. The Winds would have left her floating along.

JH cradles Lyn yet.
The wardens of Earth and Sky are debating. There was no danger. My powers were diminished, blocked. The block has been removed.

As she has tied herself and the Sky to his fate. I do not deny that you have helped her, but do not forget that it was Wind that gave her the tools she needed. And we will continue to watch over her.
I must go. I should not be here when she awakens. We will speak again another time, Earth Lord.

Azuri'ith! Before you go, she seeks answers about her father. Can you help her?

"I regret that I did not pay as much attention to my grandson as I should have when he lived. He was a mercurial young man, charming and he knew it a little too well. He was always looking for the next exciting thing. I will try to send her what memories I can."
With a gust of wind, Azuri'ith departs.

LJ finally starts to feel solid again. She tries to remember what happened, but her memory is a little fuzzy. Slowly she opens her eyes to find that she is resting in JH's arms. Everyone is standing around talking, but it takes a moment before she can process language enough to understand what they are saying.

JH feels Lyn stir in his arms. He looks down at her.
It's OK. The danger was contrived. Are you OK?

I am sorry little bird. I'm afraid I pushed you out of the nest too soon.

There are no traces of scars, and JH's metallic skin looks like it has been recently polished. Factory fresh if you will. The tree on his back has shifted downwards, centered, and grown. It is like a tree in the fullness of summer, but its branches and roots no longer trace his limbs.
Better than ever. Especially now that you're awake.

She smiles at him. You look better. No more pain. I'm glad that the tree emperor was able to help you.

JH gets on the short bus to the Oasis
OK, let's go.
As they head out, JH *whispers* to Lyn
BTW Lyn, your great grand-dad ripped the Emperor a new one. After he calmed down I asked him about your father. I think I embarrassed him. He's going to try to help you learn about him. He couldn't stay long though. I could tell that you're important to him. Man, was he ticked!

Thank you for telling me. And for asking. I had no idea my great-grandfather was aware of me at all. I hope I get a chance to get to know him at some point.

"What did you do," the dragon growls. "Don't you realize the trauma she's just been through?"
Going to be in and out all day.

"What did you do," the dragon growls. "Don't you realize the trauma she's just been through?"
Yes. Both of them were broken by it.
The Winds left her flying without purpose beyond the Hammer. On her own she swirls like a tornado. I could not heal both but I tried. One is restored. The other will take time. Time we may not have.
Evil marshals its forces. We must do the same, but not in the same manner. Else we risk becoming the Evil ourselves. The Fire Flower boils over in her rage. She needs her companions.
Very Tempermental PlantJack |
Three Champions there were. Two lost their way. One has found it again.
"And once there were four."
Plantjack appears. He has changed. His roots shine like steel, and they seem to glow with sunlight. His eyes are dark green now, rather than light green. They are almost black."I am back. Wasp is dead, his soul passed on to the Ethereal. Kobold Cleaver is also dead. I know not the Lemmings or Kittens fate. The fates of KC's uncle and aunt are unknown to me also. I am the only remaining Servant of the Board now, and I wield the full power of both KC and Wasp. It is not much, but it is enough. I have returned, and with me, the Champion of the Board."

"Yes, well if you push Lynora too hard right now, it could end up very bad for all of us," the dragon says. "They all believe that the threat of the dark goddess has passed. I have seen what may be and I fear that we may not have seen the last of our foe yet. Especially if your tests push Lynora to inadvertantly tap into her power. Then she might just rise again, like a dark phoenix."
The Dalesman |
Sleep-deprived, but back. Morning all :/
Okay, I just tried to catch up on everything from yesterday. Should Devlyn still be here in the Grove, did everyone go back to the Oasis, did we lose people and are somewhere in between dialogue...?
Considering what happened at the Oasis, I guess I need a good reason for Devlyn not to have been there (other than the real-life reason of taking my sweety to the doctor for half of the day) :)
