You need not fight alone little ones. You asked the Earth and She has heard your plea.

The winds sigh, stirring up whirls along the ground. As they pass over the small eruptions the ground is made smooth once again. One by one, the hands disappear. Slowly, so slowly, JH and LJ begin winning the battle.

attempting to un-ghost the post

The Earth is strong here but you need ask the Winds little bird.

JH feels the power of the Earth course thru him. He must take care that his hammer doesn't strike Lyn, lest her kill her.

Finally the undead are defeated. As JH stands there panting he sees no sign of the battle.

What happened?!

You closed yourself off to your power. Or someone built a wall within your mind to it.

You are safe.

LJ looks around, confused. She still feels funny.
I don't know.
She passes out.

A large roaring wind fills the clearing and forms into a large air elemental.
Enough! I do not doubt you meant well, servant of earth, but you could have damaged her. You cannot rush the growing process. I would expect you of all beings to understand that.

Three Champions there were. Two lost their way. One has found it again.

The Wind Champion needs to know that she WILL grow, or else she will let her seed wither.

JH rushes to Lyn and cradles her tiny form. The thunder in his voice is returned, the fire in his eyes glow once more.

You went too far!

Far? Will the enemies of Life hold back?

Foolish sapling! She carries within her a divine spark. She tried to trigger it in her desperation. She cannot withstand that. Not yet. Not for a long time. That you convinced her to bring forth her own healing energies was victory enough. Do not underestimate her.

The Exchange

From out of the undergrowth near the Omniportal, a majestic silver dragon strides forth. "What is going on," she growls. "I was told that Lynora and Jack were in danger, yet I see no danger here."

A wind springs up. Emperor7 hears a voice in his mind.

Patience Emperor. patience. Haste brings mistakes, mistakes cause anger, anger fosters hate, hate is the portal to the Black ..

Angel of Violence wrote:

From Angel's backside is heard:

"Alright - what in the Nine Hells is going on now!?"

Gracefully, if not so majestically, the Dalesman steps out of Angel's shadow. His blade is over his shoulder as he surveys the new surroundings.

;P

Master Yoda, is that you?

Sarcasm is not the way of the Force. It kills mitochlorian cells

I know not what this sarcasm is that you speak of. It does not exist in the future, only killer robots.

Having been interrupted in the middle of a perfectly good rant, Azuri'ith realizes that he is being a bit foolish. He looks a little uncomfortable.
"I apologize for calling you a sapling. That was uncalled for. My granddaughter is important to me and I was being a bit overprotective. But please, do not try to give her training by threatening her mate again. She will throw everything she has at it, and her mind will splinter if she finds out what she is too soon. Let her grow at her own pace. Transformations are never easy."

I do not underestimate her Wind Lord. I fear for her.

I fear also for the Earth Champion, as he ties himself and the Earth to her fate more and more.

I am satisfied that she has found part of her self. There is enough for the seed to grow. Water and soil is what she needed. The Winds would have left her floating along.

JH cradles Lyn yet.

The wardens of Earth and Sky are debating. There was no danger. My powers were diminished, blocked. The block has been removed.

Looks like I'm out for a while. Heading to the doctor. I'll try to log back in if I can later. Sorry folks...

As she has tied herself and the Sky to his fate. I do not deny that you have helped her, but do not forget that it was Wind that gave her the tools she needed. And we will continue to watch over her.

I must go. I should not be here when she awakens. We will speak again another time, Earth Lord.

The trees rustle

Farewell wind lord! May the skies always bring the rain upon us!

Azuri'ith! Before you go, she seeks answers about her father. Can you help her?

"I regret that I did not pay as much attention to my grandson as I should have when he lived. He was a mercurial young man, charming and he knew it a little too well. He was always looking for the next exciting thing. I will try to send her what memories I can."

With a gust of wind, Azuri'ith departs.

Thanks Angel and D-Man, for coming to our rescue. Sorry you missed out on the fight.

If you wish we can arrange for a true battle, but one outside this place.

Perhaps you warriors need a rest though?

He pauses

BTW, Alaina has awakened. Her fires burn hot. Dangerously hot. A great crime has been committed.

LJ finally starts to feel solid again. She tries to remember what happened, but her memory is a little fuzzy. Slowly she opens her eyes to find that she is resting in JH's arms. Everyone is standing around talking, but it takes a moment before she can process language enough to understand what they are saying.

JH feels Lyn stir in his arms. He looks down at her.

It's OK. The danger was contrived. Are you OK?

Contrived? It felt so real. And then I felt funny. Like I was dissolving. But I think I'm alright now. And you? You're okay?

I am sorry little bird. I'm afraid I pushed you out of the nest too soon.

There are no traces of scars, and JH's metallic skin looks like it has been recently polished. Factory fresh if you will. The tree on his back has shifted downwards, centered, and grown. It is like a tree in the fullness of summer, but its branches and roots no longer trace his limbs.

Better than ever. Especially now that you're awake.

Emperor7 wrote:

Oh. Well, I'm sure you meant well. You've always helped us before. I don't know what happened, but there's something I just can't remember...

She smiles at him. You look better. No more pain. I'm glad that the tree emperor was able to help you.

Alaina is awake. Are you strong enough to head to the Oasis?

Jack Hammer wrote:

Yes. I'm fine. We should go see her now. I hope she's alright. Well, as alright as she can be.

JH gets on the short bus to the Oasis

OK, let's go.

As they head out, JH *whispers* to Lyn

BTW Lyn, your great grand-dad ripped the Emperor a new one. After he calmed down I asked him about your father. I think I embarrassed him. He's going to try to help you learn about him. He couldn't stay long though. I could tell that you're important to him. Man, was he ticked!

Thank you for telling me. And for asking. I had no idea my great-grandfather was aware of me at all. I hope I get a chance to get to know him at some point.

"What did you do," the dragon growls. "Don't you realize the trauma she's just been through?"

Going to be in and out all day.

Angel of Violence wrote:

Yes. Both of them were broken by it.

The Winds left her flying without purpose beyond the Hammer. On her own she swirls like a tornado. I could not heal both but I tried. One is restored. The other will take time. Time we may not have.

Evil marshals its forces. We must do the same, but not in the same manner. Else we risk becoming the Evil ourselves. The Fire Flower boils over in her rage. She needs her companions.

Emperor7 wrote:

"And once there were four."

Plantjack appears. He has changed. His roots shine like steel, and they seem to glow with sunlight. His eyes are dark green now, rather than light green. They are almost black.
"I am back. Wasp is dead, his soul passed on to the Ethereal. Kobold Cleaver is also dead. I know not the Lemmings or Kittens fate. The fates of KC's uncle and aunt are unknown to me also. I am the only remaining Servant of the Board now, and I wield the full power of both KC and Wasp. It is not much, but it is enough. I have returned, and with me, the Champion of the Board."

"Yes, well if you push Lynora too hard right now, it could end up very bad for all of us," the dragon says. "They all believe that the threat of the dark goddess has passed. I have seen what may be and I fear that we may not have seen the last of our foe yet. Especially if your tests push Lynora to inadvertantly tap into her power. Then she might just rise again, like a dark phoenix."

I will not be 'testing' her. The seed within her has been planted, and must be allowed to grow. At its own pace.

For good or for ill...

*The omniportal opens, and out soar Rio and Aurora. Both wear armor and are ready for battle.*
"Hey did we miss it? Took a wrong turn and ended up in the Astral Plane."
*He walks over to AoV and and quitely says*
"Have you told them what happened?"

Sleep-deprived, but back. Morning all :/

Okay, I just tried to catch up on everything from yesterday. Should Devlyn still be here in the Grove, did everyone go back to the Oasis, did we lose people and are somewhere in between dialogue...?

Considering what happened at the Oasis, I guess I need a good reason for Devlyn not to have been there (other than the real-life reason of taking my sweety to the doctor for half of the day) :)

"Angel, I'm going to head back to the Oasis and see if JH and LJ had any luck waking Alaina up. Let me know if anything comes up here that we need to know."

He nods to Emperor7 and the others present, then returns to the Oasis of Still Water.

The Exchange

"I'll head back to the Club," Angel says. "Someone should keep an eye on things there in case whoever commited the massacre returns."

So busy. So busy. Like so many ants when their nest is disturbed.

The Nut is hidden, my cousins. It will be kept safe until it is needed. I go now to watch over Spring Sapling. A giggling puppet of evil caused her harm. I hope that I removed its stain.

Farewell for now.

The forest sighs a farewell to their cousin as he departs
