Kamenwati visible relaxes as the celestial wolf moves away.

"So - are you just not a canine person, or are you sweating something else?" a familiar (to Ephebe) voice asks as a man sits down on the stool just recently vacated by Rune.

"I'm barely gone long enough for you to eat and you're flirting with another wolf. For shame, Arielle!" LK whispers into her ear, startling her with his sudden appearance. He smells slightly of chlorine, so it stands to reason he's been swimming.

"Always good to meet another lupine though." He says, moving out from behind Arielle so he can greet Rune. "My name is Kiba, Little Kiba(LK for short), or more recently Canis. It all depends on who you talk to."

He gives an affirming bark, and his tail starts to lazily wag. :)
"I went to visit once with my family. It seemed like a really nice place, but I think I'm a little too much trouble to live there," she added with a grin.

It almost looks like he nods as he gives her hand a friendly lick and sits next to her, turning around as his master finally decides to show up.

"Nah, not much bothers me. It's just dogs that bite, cats that scratch, and father-in-laws that seem to think I won't recognize them despite the fact they pretty much shoved a Caster full of demon bane spell shot in my face."

"You know, the little things. Do you want anything to drink?"

Despite his calm demeanor and brave words, Kamenwati is starting to slowly panic...

She tried to stifle a giggle from his whispered comment.

"Daddy!"

He gets practically knocked over by an overenthusiastic hug.

"I was wondering when you were going to get here." She stepped back and grinned.

"And stop giving Kam a hard time. He's cool."

Turning his head around at LK's voice, one of Rune's ears tilts to the side, and he makes a muffled 'woofing' sound.

He wags his tail again, then stands up and heads back over to Tamrin and Ephebe.

"OOF!!!" is about all he can grunt out as Ephebe almost knocks both of them on the ground. He hugs her back and laughs.

"I'm sorry I took so long, sweety. That last 'errand' got a bit more convoluted than I thought it would - but I think we've finally got some breathing room, thanks to you," he says with a proud smile. "Some well-deserved downtime is definitely in order."

"It was Last Judgment actually. And I'll take a water with ice, thank you."

"I only asked a question," he replies, holding up his hands innocently, then dropping one to pet Rune when he comes up.

"Still would have hurt." Kam says as he gets Tamrin his water. "Not the worst reaction I've had though. The entire village trying to burn me at the stake after chasing me with pitchforks still has you beat."

From behind him Kam hears a soft chuckle.

"Bah, pitchforks! Those hardly hurt at all. When they start chasing you with armed warheads, then you worry."

"Mom! I wasn't sure if you were here or not. Ummm... it's okay, Kam....you can breathe now. Mom can be kinda sneaky sometimes, but if she were going to hurt you, she'd have done it already, without letting you see her. So it's all good, right?"

"Even if that's true... any more people show up like that.. I'm gonna have a heart attack..." Kam says through his ragged breathing. "Just a little warning.. that's all..."

She patted Kam on the back just a trifle too hard.

"Relax, kid. I don't bite. Family. And certainly not in this form."

At the moment, Kam is repeating "It's better than the Citadel" over and over in his mind in an attempt to get over his panic. At best, it's only keeping it from getting worst.

Aananda grabs Kam gently by the shoulders and turns him around. He has a brief glimpse of purple draconic eyes before he finds himself tumbling through memories and then back into himself.

She nods. "As I expected. Ephebe is a cleric and not easily fooled by anyone. Especially not demons. Seriously, Kam, you need to relax. We're not a threat. We're family.I know it can be a little intimidating, marrying into a family of dragons. Ask Tam. He certainly didn't have an easy time of it either," she added with a grin.

She hopped easily over the bar.

"There. Feel better with a little space?"

"It helps." Kam says. Then he remembers all of what Aanandareavekki just said.

"Wait.. no, we're not..!"

"Could you all please stop ganging up on him? You are ruining the honeymoon!" Taron laughs at the strangled gasp from Kamenwati. "Relax. It's not like you're surrounded by a family of dragons(and one elf) that have spent good portions of their lives hunting down and killing demons."

"If you guys are going to gang up on him at least tell me so I can join in."

She chuckled.

"Not married?" She shrugged. "A technicality. Sort of. By draconic custom, you are. You accepted Taron as your mate. Same difference."

She put an arm around Tamrin's shoulder.

"The mouth opening and closing like a fish is cute," she said conversationally to Tam. "You had that same expression on your face when my mom told you the same thing, lo, these many years ago," she added, laughing.

"Oh, there you are! Oh, come on, Tare, be a sport. Hazing is a necessary part of becoming one of the family. We have so many years of teasing to catch up on."

"Haze him when he doesn't have a chance to faint."

"Oh, and hi Mom. Hi Dad. How's all the quiet time around the house been?"

"What quiet time? We still have James, don't we?" she said, laughing.

"Although your grandmother has started dropping hints that she'd like more grandkids sometime soon. Something about three being a nice start...I didn't hear the rest since your dad decided we needed to be elsewhere pronto." ^.^

"Oh yeah.. with Ephebe hopping through realities and myself still technically on the run, James has had no one to hang around except you. Can't say I'm sorry about that."

"Speaking of grandchildren, Ephebe told me you had a few ideas of how to get your own. If you wish to share these ideas, please know that I will have a very similar reaction to Dad's."

He smiles and turns to look at Kam, who is probably very pale under the illusion.

"Really Kam, you should probably not listen to everything we say. It'll keep you sane."

Aananda laughed so hard she had tears running down her face.

After she was able to get her breath back, she shook her head and clapped Taron on the back.

"Relax, sweetie, those were ideas for the future. You're way too young to be a parent. And don't remind me that I wasn't much older when I had you three or I might give in to my maternal instincts to bug you about it."

He nods, putting his arm around her waist. "I think it's the universal sign of draconic-induced shock. At least we're consistent!" ;)

"I'm sure I've got that Reverse Gender shell with me somewhere," Tam says with a positively evil grin as he looks back up, glancing between the two....

Ephebe choked on her drink.

"If by 'you' you mean Taron, then yes. You still seem a bit confused," he replies.

"I don't think the poor boy is used to having such a large family, dear," she said, grinning mischievously. "It's a lot to take in all at once. No wonder he's confused."

"Large family? No. Strange family? Yes."

"You are absolutely right, my love. I think the two of them need to spend some quality time at the cottage to get away from all the hustle and bustle while we stay here, so Kam can properly take in being a member of this family. James will be quite glad for the company...." (^.^)

"Done then! I'll let James know now," as he fishes out a crystal from his belt and concentrates for a second. :D

Taron's eyes widen slightly, then he drags Kam over the bar and they make a run for it.

Tam holds up his hand and waits about a minute, until Taron and Kam have disappeared from view. Then he nods, drops his hand and everyone starts laughing to the point of tears...

"And James should be gating them in 3....2....1...." ;D

"Did you see the look on Taron's face? Oh, man, that was priceless."

"Indeed. James is going to have way too much fun with this." ^.^

"Every dad has his day, right?" he says with a wink as he puts an arm around each of them.

"Now what's say the two coolest and prettiest ladies here join me for some dinner? Bar food's great and all, but I think we can do much better at a table. And have room for at least one course. Maybe." (^.^)

Two strangely familiars musician start to play in the background.

"Dinner sounds great. I'm starving." :)

"Yeah, me too. And the food is pretty good here."

She pauses foe a moment, looking thoughtfully at the musicians. "Do I know those guys?"
She shook her head. "Probably just imagining things again."

And the 'Feast-ian' family grabs a couple of tables and proceeds to make the cooking staff of the Club cry.... ;P
