Page 43: Statue Street.. is it always barricaded, or are visitors allowed onto the street for closer looks at the statues when the Charge of the Gorgon isn't happening? Are the statues moved to the side to prevent them from breaking next year? What would the punishment be for freeing a prisoner turned to stone by the Gorgon?
page 34: are the Thumpers supposed to be a way to use Mordrons in Golorian? Because they sound awefully similar
There are various magic institutions in this book, where do the two in guide to Korvosa stack up to those presented here?

The Green Ridge district doesn't appear on the map on the inside cover.
It is described as being "against the cliff face upon which the Petals District sits" on p32. Based on that, I'm assuming that the Petals District label on the map is accurate but a little lower than it should be. It probably ought to be a bit higher and occupy most (all?) of that NE plateau. Green Ridge lies just south of the plateau and right under where the Petals label currently sits, in the area around the big green oval (Evergreen Park).
EDIT: Err ... and looking at the small map inside the book on p50, I see that my hunch is correct and unnecessary (I hadn't gotten to that page yet!).

Really the cost depends upon the value of the district. Some areas cost less to Rent a Flathouse than to stay in a good inn and eat out every day. Others cost three times or more but then you live in a more affluent district and eat better and have better clothes.
I look at it as a sort of Lifestyle cost, that includes entertainment, meals, and some clothes. It sure beats having the PCs account for the meals and such every day between adventures.
BTW, surprised no one from Paizo has answered any questions here yet.

The Cost of Living in the Wise Quarter should be somewhere between the COL in Eastgate and the COL in Green Ridge.
Also note that the cost of a villa in Green Ridge should be 800 gp, not 8000 gp.
WHAT they let you take days off? Obviously Lisa is NOT of the Chelaxian faction! We'll see about that.
Wow! Thank goodness. :)

*Thread where question regarding Fort Tempest is raised and answered*
Hello, I am currently reading the guide to Absalom. On page 26 subsection "Fort Tempest" it states:
Quote:...Fort Tempest was build a few centuries after Aroden's death...When we take a look at the time line of Golarion a presented in the Campaign Setting page 203 states 4606 AR as the year of Aroden's demise and 4708 AR as the current year. Strictly speaking the current year in Golarion is 4709 since one year in our world equals one year in Golarion and 4708 AR equals 2008 AD if I remember correctly.
The contradiction goes even further.
Quote:...after the Radiant Siege of 1619 AR proved a foe could take the point and use it to build a tower to fling rocks into the city...Let's assume the Keep was build after Aroden's death, although a few centuries cannot be possible, since this would indicate some point in the future. Why does it take the City 2987 years to notice this weak spot in its defenses and build a Keep?
Sorry if this has already been posted.

It doesn't make sense for Absalom to wait so long to bolster such a weakness, so I'd say that rather than a "few centuries after Aroden's death," I'd say that the fort was built shortly after the weakness became apparent.

Hmm. I'm curious as to why we have symbols for three of the deities to take the Test of the Starstone scattered through the book (Aroden, Cayden Cailean, and Norgorber) but not Iomedae? We do however seem to have the holy symbol for Shelyn featured?

Because we forgot.

A couple of queries regaring some of the images:
Is that a heraldic device for House Ahnkamen on page 7?
Is that a platinum sphinx (coin) on page 15? (And I assume that the coins on page 6 are copper pennies, although I'm curious what Ezren and Seelah have done in Absalom to merit coins being struck featuring them... :D)
Finally (for now):
God's Market (page 17) - is the apostrophe misplaced, and if not then God's Market in the sense of which specific god?
Thank-you for these answers.

Is there a magistrate, senate or any bigger government building in Absalom? Where do the clerks of the city work? Where does Gyr live or in which buildings do the grand/lower seats meet? Is there a major law court in the city? Could not find much info about such stuff.
Another question: Westgate has a cavalry unit which serves also as city watch. Which type of riding animals do this "cavalry" have?

I've asked this question in another messageboard, but got no answer;
It is said that in page 48, the Varlokkur investigates the illegal spells. It also mentions that Invisibility is one of the illegalized spells.
So, I'm just wondering, what would be the consequences of casting an Invisibility spell in Absalom? Is it only considered in other crime issues? What can the magical investigators do, do they go along the city and trace the magic in it, or do they use divination magic to sort it out?
