When do you plan to release the "House of the Beast" minis? Can't wait to see them on my gaming table!

The "House of the Beast" set will hopefully be going live in a week or two. The set's 90% done, but I wanted to wait and release that set and its accompanying Bestiary article at about the same time. I might also make some more minis for the set, if I can bring myself to draw more giant bugs. That adventure has a LOT of giant bugs.

Not sure whether its been mentioned:

- I would have someone create a set of weighted plastic bases that fit each area (5ft, 10ft 15ft, 20ft) with a good clip mechanism to keep the paper/cardboard straight. We can then re-use the bases and ensure the area is covered. Also no folding or other manipulation needed. (you may want to make these with an X to slide the paper into for flexibility to create 3rd terrain below)

- Put my vote in for backs (will look nicer with the bases above).

- Also I would purchase certain unique terrain pieces (lay flat or meant to go on a stand as above);

- I'd pay $8-10 for a reasonable select of stands; Otherwise $4 for a set or $10 for a module's worth of pictures. Would be nice to include one or two other art pieces ala tomb of horrors as player handouts.

- Think about including stat cards for use with D&D/Pathfinder (not mini game). Similar to this style but card size -> CLICK HERE
(the link from this thread -> CLICK HERE)

Thanks!

Thanks for the thoughts. I'll try to cover your suggestions one by one.

On the concept of plastic clip bases: I love this idea, but that'd be someone else's department. I'm just a guy who draws stuff and makes it look pretty with Photoshop. I lack the requisite plastic manufacturing know-how to even know where to go to get a company to produce something like that. I will file it away into my brain-meats if an opportunity comes up to make them, though, along with pre-printed packs to buy at your FLGS.

Different backsides are also on my wishlist. As it stands for now, it's a back-burner project that I hope to get working on once I can quit the day job. Believe me, I want to do them as bad as you want to see them. Just need to get the time and skillset down in order to pull it off.

As for terrain, I've seen some stuff like that floating around the internets; I think WorldWorks Games has some stuff, and there's a few other paper minis companies getting into that as well. While I'm not opposed to doing some stuff, like weird braziers or trees, I've tried making a 3-D throne by my lonesome and it's beyond me using pen and paper.

Hadn't thought of including art in the packs, but I could ask the Paizo guys if that's kosher and see about putting some in. I will forewarn you: I'm a decent miniatures artist, but the scene images will look like goofy cartoons, since that's my general style. Those of you getting copies of the PaizoCon fanzine will see what I'm talking about when it releases.

If people are interested, though, I'm up for giving some AP-themed art a shot (or making Hugo do it... heh heh heh), either in its own pack or a couple of scenes from the AP. Let me know, everyone, if you're interested in this idea.

I'm too lazy to read all this, so excuse me if this has been said...if you get bored with the AP tie-ins I would love racial-class sets - imagine either a set of fighters (one or two for each race), rogues, wizards, and so on OR a set of dwarves (with one or each core class)!

Sets of non-AP "racial" sets are on the horizon. It'll probably come in the form of, say, an elf set with a few melee combatant types, a few ranged combatant types and a handful of spellcaster/noble-y lookin' dudes. I'm aiming for getting them looking class-generic within some set parameters (making a creeping elf with a one-handed blade or two who could serve as a ranger or rogue, for example). The hope is for them to work as either generic NPCs of the appropriate race and as possible PC minis. Sets would probably number in the 10-12 miniatures range, so there should be enough minis to fit most standard race/class combos (might be a guy who works as a monk in the elf set, for example, but I probably won't design an obvious elf monk dude since they're probably a VERY small percentage of the elf population).

If people wanted instead, I could do something more akin to a "class" set in addition to the "race" sets: a fighter or two for each core race (plus tieflings and aasimars, since I loves the planetouched), a set for wizards, etc.

Let me know, gang!

A-HAHAHAHA! :D

Funny enough, I'm actually trying to slow the release schedule down. I just REALLY wanted to get those goblins up for sale.

Sounds great! I plan to start House of the Beast in approx. two weeks, so I guess it will arrive just in time. :-D

One more question: will you include monsters for the Set Piece also in your future sets? Like Salamanders and fire snakes for the one in Pathfinder #20?

I've been toying with the idea of doing minis for the Set Pieces, but haven't decided one way or another. The options for doing that as I see them are:

* Make the Set-Piece a new PDF
* Add the Set-Piece Minis into the existing adventure sets
* Use up available minis slots from the adventure to put in Set-Piece minis

Each of these has cons for both me and you (an extra set means you have to spend more money, adding the minis on top delays the product while I add an additional 4-8 minis or so and makes side projects like the goblins harder to squeeze in, using up available slots from the adventure means less monsters from the main adventure make it into the product).

I'll mull it over a bit, and please, everyone, feel free to chime in with your thoughts!

Sovereign Court

N'wah, I haven't had time to really look through this thread or at the minis until today, good stuff and congrats on your new endeavour!

These minis are full of awesome! Any chance of doing the Falcon's Hollow/Darkmoon vale adventures? I bet your take on kobolds and fey would be amazing!

Lilith has expressed interest in doing some of the GameMastery/non-AP Pathfinder modules, but she's up to her eyeballs in work for the PaizoCon fanzine right now. She's hoping to get into those soon after that's done, though. I'll keep y'all posted when I've got more info!

Also, before I forget: Hugo has also expressed interest in doing some monster sets, kobolds being among them. So at bare minimum, someone's drawing kobolds sometime soon. :D

If I may, I'd like to throw my hat in the ring and offer to do any artistic help that's needed, it looks like a lot of fun. I'd be very excited for the opportunity.

Hmm... we might be able to work something out. I've seen your work before, and I like it, but send me a few sample images of your best work and I'll figure out a project for you, methinks.

Shoot off an e-mail to me; my address is in my Paizo info. We'll work out the details from there.

E-mail sent.

He should be scheduled to create the lastknightleft line of exclusive minis. I've seen him do work for me before, in fact you mini-ized it.

Sovereign Court

Thanks for the vote of confidence, now I want to see a pic of the mini in action on the gaming table!

Twelve minis are drawn and inked, now I have to color them.

Really looking forwards to seeing your work onthe mini's front jack.

I would if the game hadn't ended when the DM got a promotion

So the big news, I got paizo's weekly newsletter, guess who has the top 6 downloads in the other companies product bestseller list.

Wow, kudos to N'Wah and Immora!

By the way, you need to force your DM to remember his priorities and get that game going again! ;-)

Yep, got CJ's stuff for Bloodsworn Vale last night. I'm arranging them into a set right now, actually.

Any new info on release dates of new sets (especially House of the Beast)?

House of the Beast is essentially done; I've gotta send the images for the set for final approval, print out and assemble a set of them for the cover, and upload it. Should be up tonight or tomorrow.

Callous Jack's set is awaiting final edits (resizing, adding bases, and PDF arrangement), followed by the final steps.

Still coloring Immora's set, followed by the aforementioned steps.

I expect the last two sets on the list will be up early next week, depending on how exhausted I am from PaizoCon. I'll redouble my efforts to get caught up; I've been really busy lately with day job and normal life stuff, but that's harldy an excuse, so hopefully we'll be caught up on LoF soon after Council of Thieves hits the market.

Apologies for the delays, everyone. It's been... hectic.

Sovereign Court

Next week it is, hopefully you won't be too exhausted from the con. :)

I have to figure out what to draw next, I'm debating whether to do another module or maybe do some Rise of the Runelord stuff.

Oooh, ooh, Runelords, por favor :) Second Chapter would be handy for the hubband who is running that for us next :)

I'm in support of this. We'll have to get someone to do the Bestiary for them, though I guess we do have goblin dogs and goblin snakes covered. And I've got plans for ogres, stone giants, and eventually a 3-D rune giant set. Oh, and that one guy who's kinda important to the campaign but whose name I shall not use due to potential spoilerage.

Sovereign Court

If I do do RotR, I would start with the first book and just skip the goblins stuff you already covered. I may even skip the bestiaries unless the monster participated in the AP, like the Sinspawn.

I just finished RotR 1 myself so I've got to third the vote for RotR #2, I just don't have enough ghouly undead, I have plenty of skeletons which were sadly absent.

Sovereign Court

All right, Rise of the Runelords it is. I'll start doing some sketches for books 1 and 2.

Rise of the Runelords Chapter: Burnt Offerings minis are drawn and mostly inked.

tease! now!

I wonder...

Is there a set of standard phb classes set in the works? At a recent session, we had to rip up pieces of construction paper.
Kinda lame.

Seeing these minis "for reals" is something else. They're really really really great. Get them, so there will be more!

If I have time tonight, I'll post one or two, Monty. ;-)

N'wah *might* have a plan for that in the future. The more people make noise about what they want, the more likely you are to get it done quicker.

Although N'wah already did do the PF iconics so that might fill the role you're looking for.

good good would be waiting :D

everyone style is a bit differetn, everyone is an artist in their own way, no worries about that

Okay, here is a tease of one of the bad gys from Bloodsworn Vale. I will get up something from RoRL when I get them scanned. :)

Roseblood Sprite.

Lookin' good, CJ. I look forward to seeing the final product.

Hopefully they will go up soon...

Please, please please, where are those sets that were almost ready two weeks ago? I'd so like to use them in my Sunday campaign...
