Ba'az and Elmo arrive at the monestary and are admitted to see the prelate. "It is good that you brought us this news. We will send an exorcist to deal with the shrine. Ioun smiles on your quest to seek the answer to this mystery."
Jake will perfect his plate juggling act. "Bone china is the hardest! To catch, that is. It actually breaks pretty easily."
"Now, where did those knives and forks go..."
Elmo chats happily to Ba'az both there and back on the journey. He feels that they have bonded as cousins in the process, but that the dragonborn still has not grasped the intricacies of kobold culture.
Ba'az bonds with the kobold over their journey but doesn’t understand why the kobolds need to add a incalculable layers of stratification to their social structure.
Elmo and Ba'az hook up with the rest group when they return and set out to Winterhaven.

Two days pass and Elmo and Ba'az get back to the village. Then the rest of you prepare to leave.

"Winterhaven! Of course. Why don't you tell me these things Jake?"
Jake looks at Elmo sternly, "Because you were off galivanting with this one," he says, thumbing at Ba'az.
"Right, I have my equipment ready, as well as the most important item in our, well, my, arsenal."
"Lunch?"
Jake sighs heavily, "Nonono, not just lunch. Lunch is merely one of many essential liminal consumption periods throughout the day."
"But you did make sandwiches?"
"Only for today, they'll spoil otherwise. The rest of it is variously beef jerky, biscuits, sausage, carrots..."
Jake reels off a list of foodstuffs.
"I hope you packed fresh fruit. We kobolds need to keep our scales in good condition."
Rubbing his temples after his two day "reprive" Logan sees his companions and waves them over. "If there are no more delays, might I suggest that we move with haste. Winterhaven is a long ways away and there is no telling what those cultists are up to."
"Yes, let's make haste," says Yrenn.
Elmo considers the prospect of walking 100 miles. "I am compact and hardy. So I will ride a horse."
Jake looks at Elmo sternly, "Because you were off galivanting with this one," he says, thumbing at Ba'az.

"Sorry I didn't mean to cause strain on your bromance. But Jake you could have come also".
Jake looks bemused at the dragonborn, "Oh aha! Wait, I get it, you think there's something funny going on! Aha! That's amusing, because I thought they same thing about you two! Being reptiles and all, I only have your word for it that you're both chaps. If the two of you want to, y'know then by all means, but what you get up to is your business. Not that there's anything wrong with that, indeed I have met many valiant folk of the other persuasion. I remember this one time..." Jake goes off onto a ramble.
Elmo looks from Jake to Ba'az and back again as they burble at cross purposes.
"I am mighty and extremely attractive, but I have no time for romance when there is evil to smite. I am sorry to disappoint you both, but it is best to be open. Jake always says this."
"So, are we walking there? I sort of assumed we were... unless there are ponies to be had."
"I shall be happy to navigate Miss Yrenn. Particularly if she knows how to ride."
Elmo offers his best bow and a beguiling flash of teeth.
Riding up with a team of horses, Logan calls out to his companioins, "Hail all! The local lord has allowed me to commendear these horses for our journey. We should leave as soon as possible."

The first day goes by without incident. The rangers who patrol the King's Road keep it safe for travelers. As light begins to fade, you spot a clearing near the road that would make a good place to camp.
"Jake has many interesting and nourishing food supplies. We should eat something or his forethought and planning will be wasted."
"Agreed. We should probably set u a watch for this evening. Three watches with at least one person on each. I'll take the first watch."
