Ladies and Gentlemen, I am pleased to announce that the games that will be run this month at the Sydney Shadow Lodge games day at Good Games, City (on December 15th, starting at 10:15am) is as follows:

"The Accursed Halls" (by veteran RPG designer Richard Baker):

A Module designed for 1st level characters (playable by 1st or 2nd level PCs).

Buried beneath the castle of Thornkeep lie strange passages and chambers that once belonged to a cruel Azlanti wizard of eons past. Goblins have begun excavating the so-called Accursed Halls in hopes of finding a lost goblin artifact, though their constant battles with the undead that haunt these corridors has left them blind to the dungeon’s other myriad wonders.

As always, sign-up is available on Warhorn.

Feel free to visit the event Facebook page for additional information :-)

Alright, I have had some requests to try and run a few things between Christmas and New Year, and after careful consideration, I will offer the first three parts of 'Rise of the Runelords'.

On Thursday, the 27th, we will be offering 'Rise of the Runelords, Part I: Burnt Offerings':

"The Goblin tribes of the Sandpoint region have been unusually fractious lately. Rumor has it that a new group of powerful outsiders has taken control, based out of an abandoned Thassilonian ruin now known as 'Thistletop'. Sheila Heidmarch sends a group of operatives to the region to deal with this menace, in order to improve relations with the local populace, and coincidentally to learn what they can from the ruins."

(A Pathfinder module designed for PCs of levels 3-5)

On Friday, the 28th, we will be offering 'Rise of the Runelords, Part II: The Skinsaw Murders':

Sendeli Foxglove has asked the Pathfinder Society for a favor: She and her siblings recently discovered an old deed, which shows that the Foxglove family owns a manor house down the coast from the settlement of Sandpoint. Her brother went to Sandpoint a few months ago to investigate, but has not been heard from since. She would like someone to go to the Manor, and find out what happened to him.

Unfortunately, amongst the local populace, Foxglove Manor has long been rumored to be haunted, and inhabited by many less than savory squatters. Dare you face your fears, and venture into the Manor?

(A Pathfinder Module for PCs of levels 4-6)

On Sunday, the 30th, we will be offering 'Rise of the Runelords, Part III: The Hook Mountain Massacre':

The enigmatic Osprey, long-time special operative of the Pathfinder Society, came to Magnimar with alarming news: Fort Rannick, home of the Order of the Black Arrow, a martial organisation dedicated to patrolling the Storval Rise and holding back the local giant population, has fallen to a small army of Ogres!

Given the Society's renewed interest in the region, anything that disrupts the subtle balance of power in Varisia cannot be tolerated, and so a band of Society operatives is to be sent to the vicinity of the Fort, to discover if any members of the Order have survived, and hopefully, to retake the Fort.

(A Pathfinder Module for designed for PCs of levels 8-10)

As always, sign-up is available on Warhorn.

CORRECTION:

Minor fix, James is willing to GM a table of #4-12 A Refuge of Time in the second session if needed.

As such, we could use a second GM for #4-11 The Disappeared.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I am pleased to announce that the games that will be run this month at the Sydney Shadow Lodge games day at Good Games, City (on January 19th, starting at 10:15am) are as follows:

Thornkeep, Part II: The Forgotten Laboratory (by Pathfinder RPG Lead Designer Jason Bulmahn):

A Module designed for 3rd level characters (playable by 2nd-4th level PCs).

The goblins of the dungeon's upper level took more than one trinket from the ancient laboratory that dwells beneath them. The wizard that created these items also performed dangerous experiments, many of which have gone out of control over the years. Stranger still, someone appears to be using the ancient equipment with sinister results.

Pathfinder Society Scenario #2-21: The Dalsine Affair (Written by Alex Greenshields):

A Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for 1st to 7th level characters (Tiers: 1-2, 3-4 and 6-7).

Your mission takes you to the Taldan capital city of Oppara where the intricate web of political intrigue and ages-old religious conflicts threaten the Pathfinder Society’s presence in the land. When Baron Jacquo Dalsine’s cousin is implicated in a recent attack on Society allies, the situation becomes even tighter for the Pathfinders, and at the end of the day some members of the Dalsine family may not get out unscathed.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I am pleased to announce that the games that will be run this month at the Sydney Shadow Lodge games day at Good Games, City (on February 16th, starting at 10:15am) are as follows:

"Thornkeep - Dark Menagerie" (by RPG legend Ed Greenwood):

A Module designed for 6th level characters (playable by 5th-7th level PCs)

In life, the wizard who ruled this realm kept many trophies, mementos, and even captured pets from his journeys, both to entertain his dark sensibilities and to cow his business associates and coerced allies. Now, kept alive all these years via stasis-inducing magic that's recently failed, the unfettered beasts of his magical menagerie run amok.

Additionally, we will also be offering:

"The God's Market Gamble" (Written by Dennis Baker)

A Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for levels 1–5

Valuable relics of religious natures have been disappearing on their way into Absalom and the Pathfinder Society stands to lose countless irreplaceable artifacts if the cause isn't found. Amid the bustling markets of the God's Market in the shadow of the Starstone Cathedral, the Society sets a plan in motion to ensure the parties responsible for the recent thefts are caught and brought to justice.

Do any of you Sydneysiders (looking at the VC/VL here!) know of any Society games going on in the Newcastle area? University will be starting back up soon, so if there are no permanent groups established at Newcastle Uni yet it might be a good time to get one going.

IIRC the Anime Club used to play a lot of 4e and Magic the Gathering, so I'm sure there'd be people up for it.

Hi Alice,

We've tried to get a Society game running at Good Games Newcastle on, I think, three separate occasions. The first two times, the GMs disappeared, and the last time, after a lot of initial interest, no-one turned up to play.
I'd love to get something started up there though, and I'm thinking that, later in the year, I might organise a kick-off event up there, over an entire weekend. If you have any leads on suitable venues and contacts, please PM me!

Cheers,
Al

Can't play every night because of 2 young terrors at home but still enthusiastic to play every week. Cheers.

Before the Dawn—Part I: The Bloodcove Disguise

Written by Crystal Frasier.

A Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for levels 1-7.

You are sent to Aspis Consortium-infested Bloodcove to gather supplies for a nearly doomed Pathfinder mission nearby. Disguised as ordinary merchants, you have little time to gather what you need and get out before the Consortium discovers and destroys you.

The Bloodcove Disguise is the first scenario in the two-part Before the Dawn campaign arc. Pathfinder Society Scenario #2-02: Before the Dawn—Part II: Rescue at Azlant Ridge is the sequel.

Thornkeep - Sanctum of a Lost Age

Written by Paizo Publisher Erik Mona.

A Module designed for 7th level characters (playable by 6th-8th level PCs)

Scholars claim the dungeons below Thornkeep were built by the Ancient Azlanti, but how do they know, really? If Rozimus of Tymon speaks true, one level of Thornkeep’s dungeon holds survivors of that long-dead empire eager to return to the world and share the lore of their glorious age. They’re not undead, Rozimus claims, or illusory phantoms, but true living and breathing High Azlanti! But why does Rozimus know so much about them, and why is he so eager to return to the dungeon he claims almost killed him 5 years ago?

Just under two weeks to go until Lissalapalooza and, with just under 70 registered attendees so far, we've now more players than Ruby Phoenix last Easter!

As previously advised, I've started some minor consolidation of the schedule, switching undersubscribed tables for more tables of popular options, such as The Disappeared, Tower of the Ironwood Watch, The Veteran's Vault, and Ruins of Bonekeep I: The Silent Grave.

Of the 106 game tables still available, 54 are now running, which is closing in on Risen Rune.
Of the 52 games still to reach the minimum three players, 28 need only 1 more player, 20 need 2 more, and 4 need 3.

Registration is on Warhorn (http://warhorn.net/shadowmoot) and you can join the Shadow Lodge community on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/shadowlodge) and Meetup (http://www.meetup.com/Shadow-Lodge).

Resurrecting a long-moribund thread :-)

Ladies and Gentlemen, I am pleased to announce that this month, as part of Free RPG Day (June 21st), starting at 10am, we will be offering a special event:

Sydney Shadow Lodge - Free RPG Day Extravaganza!

Risen From the Sands:

The deserts of Osirion—land of pharaohs and ancient tombs—hide not just untold wonders, but also unspeakable dangers. When the vast sand dunes part to reveal the ancient pyramid of the legendary Pharaoh of Sphinxes, glory seekers from across many nations race toward it, each fighting to be the first to claim its wonders. But the storied pharaoh doesn't rest quietly within this monument, and his tomb was designed to slaughter any who would dare trespass.

A band of bold adventurers are the first to arrive, and stand poised to claim what’s risen from the sands—but they're unaware of the doom that lurks inside. With daring on their side and strange, rarely seen powers at their disposal, the heroes may be the only force capable of containing the force of evil within and defeating its curse!

"Risen from the Sands" is a dungeon-based adventure for four characters of levels **2-4**, written for the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game and compatible with the 3.5 edition of the world's oldest RPG. It also provides four immediately playable previews of exciting new classes debuting in the upcoming Pathfinder RPG Advanced Class Guide, as well as a thematic supplement to the new Mummy’s Mask Adventure Path.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I am pleased to announce that, in preparation for the (eventual) official release of 'The Emerald Spire' super-dungeon, this month, at the Good Games Central, we will be offering two back-to-back introductory scenarios to 'prime' new PCs for the challenge it will provide :-)

Slot 1: 10:15 - 1:45

PFS 5-08: The Confirmation (1st-2nd level characters only)

Almost all Pathfinders undergo extensive training for three or more years to learn the tricks of the trade, and their last test before graduating from the ranks of the initiates to the status of a full Pathfinder agent is the Confirmation, a special research project that involves considerable fieldwork and is designed to simulate the initiates' future work as a Pathfinder. Even the noteworthy field commissioned agents sometimes participate in such trials as a way to familiarize themselves with the Pathfinder Society’s rules and expectations. Although Confirmation is typically an individual affair, the society recently discovered a site on the Isle of Kortos that would be perfect for initiates but perhaps too dangerous to handle alone. Successfully uncovering this site’s secrets will not only contribute to the society’s body of knowledge but shape the exciting careers ahead for each of the prospective agents.

Written by Kyle Baird

Slot 2: 14:00 - 17:30

PF Mod: Master of the Fallen Fortress (1st level characters only)

The ruined siege castles outside Absalom have long beckoned adventurers looking to make a name for themselves. Now an earthquake has cracked open one of these fabled ruins, and its lost mysteries and fantastic treasures lie exposed for the first time in centuries. But the tower's empty halls once more echo with living footfalls, and a new master has claimed the Fallen Fortress as his own. Can the PCs find a way to get inside its shattered walls? What ancient dangers and fresh threats will they encounter inside its crumbling chambers? And will the PCs be able to defeat the current Master of the Fallen Fortress?

Ladies and Gentlemen, I am pleased to announce a reminder that this month, we will be offering the following games at our Sydney venues:

Good Games Central:

Pathfinder Society Scenario #5–22: Scars of the Third Crusade

A Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for levels 1–5.

The fiery inquisitions that raged through Mendev during the Third Mendevian Crusade may have been damped but never truly extinguished. Fanatics have reignited the witch-hunts in eastern Mendev, and in doing so they have captured and accused allies of the Pathfinder Society. Unless the PCs intercede and put a stop to this mob justice, their allies' deaths will spark a new wave of internecine executions throughout the crusader nation.

Content in “Scars of the Third Crusade” also contributes directly to the ongoing storyline of the Silver Crusade faction.

Written by Jason Brick.

Good Games Town Hall:

Pathfinder Society Scenario #5–23: Cairn of Shadows

A Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for levels 5–9.

The innumerable cairns and burial mounds of Barrowmoor in northern Nidal contain untold treasures and terrors, and the local taboos and Nidalese theocracy are typically enough to keep any but the boldest from exploring the site; however, when the Blakros family informs the Pathfinder Society that their shared enemy is in pursuit of a dangerous artifact, the PCs must brave the shadow-stricken region to keep this object from falling into the wrong hands.

Content in “Cairn of Shadows” also contributes directly to the ongoing storylines of the Andoran and Cheliax factions.

Ladies and Gentlemen, just a reminder that at Good Games Central, this month we will be offering:

Pathfinder Society Scenario #6–01: Trial by Machine

A Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for levels 1-5.

More than a millennium has passed since the "machine mage" Karamoss's failed siege of Absalom, and for years the Pathfinder Society has used upper reaches of his subterranean siege tower as a training ground for initiates. During a routine drill, the once-dormant dungeon springs to life, and it will take all the PCs' resourcefulness and skill to make it out alive.

In addition, this month I am pleased to announce that we will be offering a double feature at Good Games Central (857 George Street, Sydney) on Saturday, November 15th:

Slot 1: (10am - 2pm)

0-05: Mists of Mwangi

(A PFS Scenario for characters of levels 1-5)

Pathfinder Lugizar Trantos recently returned from the Mwangi Expanse with haunted eyes and a pack full of strange idols. Absalom's famed Blakros Museum purchased his pieces and Lugizar vanished. The strange monkey idols he pulled from the misty jungles of Mwangi carry with them a fell curse, and now their power has laid claim to the museum. Can the Pathfinder Society uncover the source of the curse in time, or will the Blackros Museum be forever lost to the mists of Mwangi?

Written by Nicolas Logue

--------------------------------------

Slot 2: (2pm - 6pm)

1-35: Voice in the Void

(A PFS Scenario for characters of level 1-7)

Mystery strikes again at the problem-plagued Blackros Museum in Absalom and its curator, Nigel Aldain, needs your help. When a famed Osirian tomb raider returns to Absalom and disappears in the museum's basement, Aldain fears the worst. When strange sounds echo from below and several of the curator's night watchmen go missing, he panics and begs the Society to investigate the mystery and save his museum from the darkness that infests it.

Voice in the Void is a follow-up scenario to Pathfinder Society Scenario #5: Mists of Mwangi. When played together, the scenarios create a mini story arc in the famed Blackros Museum.

Written by Rob McCreary

--------------------------------------

In addition, this month I am pleased to announce that we will be offering a double feature at Good Games Town Hall (222 Clarence Street, Sydney) on Sunday, November 16th:

Slot 1: (11am - 2:30pm)

The Emerald Spire - The Tower Ruins

(A PFS Adaptable for characters of level 1-2)

The surface structure of the Spire consists of the ruins of the old Azlanti tower. A band of bloodthirsty goblins under the leadership of the bugbear chieftain Grulk lurks in the ruined tower.

Written by Lisa Stevens

--------------------------------------

Slot 2: (2:30pm - 6pm)

The Emerald Spire - The Cellars

(A PFS Adaptable for characters of levels 1-3)

The foundations of the tower are a confusing maze of vermin-infested chambers and clever pit traps. A dangerous undead spellcaster known as Gorloth, the Bone Priest, ambushes adventurers who blunder into the pits and spiderwebs.

Hey guys and gals. I've tried the classifieds section but I doubt it will be seen by many Sydney players.

Basically I'm looking for a new group to initially play with as a player to see if we're a good fit then I would like to DM for said group.

I don't have anything planned so I would like to discuss with the group what sort of game they would like to play.

I'm based close to the CBD but don't own a car, I walk to work and use Public Transport so there's only so far I will go for a game. I have the 3 core rulebooks and that's it. My apartment is way to small to host a game

I've been playing RPGs 1988 and have tried every edition of D&D, ran some long campaigns in 1st-3rd and Pathfinder.

I'm just a normal guy that enjoys playing, I don't fit it any of the Big Bang Theory, Satanic gamers or Simpsons Comic Book Guy stereotypes.

Ideally I'm looking for an established group with their own regular place with a DM who wants to take a break.

PM to discuss.

The Pathfinders set out to the Land of the Linnorm Kings with a precious cargo of trade goods to buy their way into the witch-ruled nation, but even approaching Irrisen is fraught with danger. Can the PCs navigate the frozen wastes and recover the relics within, or will the icy climate claim their lives?

Content in “From Under Ice” contributes directly to the Year of the Sky Key metaplot as well as the ongoing storyline of the Grand Lodge and Scarab Sages factions.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I am pleased to announce that this month, at Good Games Town Hall, we will be offering the following mid-level modules:

------------------------------

Emerald Spire - Level 7: Shrine of the Awakener

A module for characters of levels 5 to 7

An ancient shrine of the serpentfolk, this temple has now fallen into the hands of a heretical serpentfolk cultist who has reconsecrated it to a terrible demon lord.

Emerald Spire - Level 8: The Circle of Vissk-Thar

A module for characters of levels 6 to 8

Close beneath the shrine of Kro’akoth lies a serpentfolk stronghold currently in the clutches of a mutant serpentfolk priest. A three-way struggle for dominance is developing between the rival sects in this level and the level above.
