Fight to the death! Glory for the victor! Mwahahaha!

The Blacktown Shadow Lodge is on again June 2nd.
Games are still being considered, but we're thinking of running Echoes of the Everwar if there's enough interest.

Message any game requests.

Question though, why don't we have Shadow Lodge Wollongong in the Warhorn list? Are they an independent entity?

Shadow Lodge

Oh hey, um...

Anyone in the upcoming Gaming day wanna swap their Sewer Dragons scenario slot with mine?

Dude, we are always open to changes, see me first thing when you arrive and we can try and work something out

Shadow Lodge

Oh yes, an enquiry as well:

When I first started, I was only aware of a limited amount of traits to choose from. Now that I have access to more traits, I was wondering if I'm allowed to change one of them, given that I've never exploited it before?

Game days are free to decide if they want to use a registration system or not. Wollongong, being relatively new, haven't yet adopted it but may do soon.

Shadow Lodge

Hmmm... Maybe I can convince someone to put up a Newcastle Shadow Lodge chapter.

A Newcastle Shadow Lodge chapter is already in the making. Their first event is likely next month. Email me direct if you're able to help out, Hannya: al AT shadowlodge DOT org. We need players and more GMs.

Shadow Lodge

In that case, I'll inform my mates up at Newcastle about the new chapter. I'll give them your email and agenda and see if I can grab their interest.

I pity them if their souls have been corrupted by the 4th Ed Heresy.

I am pleased to announce that, in honor of the fact that the next Sydney Shadow Lodge being on 'Free RPG Day' for 2012 (June 16th), we will be offering two sessions, with three games per session!

Sign-up here

Morning session (10:15am-2:45pm):

Pathfinder Society Scenario #13: The Prince of Augustana

A Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for 1st to 5th level characters (Tiers: 1–2 and 4–5).

When an old beggar shows up filthy and injured on the doorstep of the Augustana Pathfinder Lodge in Andoran and demands to be recognized as Andoran's one true Emperor, Venture-Captain Wallace is inclined to chase him off. But when the old beggar reveals a wayfinder and tells a tale of demons and portals to another world beneath the streets of Augustana, Wallace summons you from Absalom to investigate. Will you make it through sewers, swarms, and sanctuaries to uncover the truth or will the dangers of the Augustana underworld consume you forever?

Pathfinder Society Scenario #3-03: The Ghenett Manor Gauntlet

A Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for Levels 5–9.

When the Pathfinder Society failed to obtain a valuable artifact from a wealthy Druman noble using diplomatic means, the eccentric collector challenged them to take it through skill from one of his well-guarded manors throughout the world. You are sent to Ghenett Manor in Katapesh with the hopes of surviving long enough to return with the prize—assuming it’s there at all.

Pathfinder Society Scenario Intro 2: First Steps—Part II: To Delve the Dungeon Deep

A Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for 1st level characters.

You venture for the first time into the massive haunted dungeons beneath an abandoned siege tower in the deadly Cairnlands, where you will experience firsthand the true dangers of being a tomb-delving Pathfinder.

Afternoon session (3:00pm-19:30pm):

Pathfinder Society Scenario #2-11: The Penumbral Accords

A Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for 1st to 5th level characters (Tiers: 1–2, 4–5).

The daughters of Absalom's mysterious Blakros family have long been among the most pursued maidens in the Inner Sea. Now the family's matriarch approaches the Pathfinder Society to help her break a centuries-old pact with the denizens of the Plane of Shadow to save her twin daughters from a life of servitude at the hands of the Onyx Alliance. Heading into the fan-favorite adventuring location of Blakros Museum, the PCs have only a short amount of time to break the Penumbral Accords and solidify the Pathfinder Society's ties to the powerful Blakroses.

Pathfinder Society Scenario #3-15: The Haunting of Hinojai

A Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for levels 5–9.

Ever seeking long-lost secrets, the Pathfinder Society sends a team of agents to explore a reportedly haunted house in the Dragon Empires nation of Minkai, hoping they can uncover the secret behind the legendary location's tormented past.

Pathfinder Society Scenario Intro 3: First Steps—Part III: A Vision of Betrayal

A Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for 1st level characters.

Dispatched on an envoy mission overland from Absalom to port city Escadar, you must weather the harsh wilderness of the Isle of Kortos before you can hope to meet with the representative of the elusive gillmen, and only then come face to face with the greatest threat to the Pathfinder Society.

Well Shifty City store is the third Saturday of the month, Burwood will be on the last Saturday of the month so to answer your question as well as

4/5 5/55/55/55/5

Thanks for that!

I had heard a legend around the campfire that there was a 16th on at Burwood, and if that legend turned out to be true I didn't want it to ruin my end of month questing. Amontillado is getting rusty.

@Shifty: Feel free to drop by the city store, though :-)

4/5 5/55/55/55/5

If I can wrangle some free time it would be great to have a look at the city session. Have talked another of my group into coming to Burwood as well, am hoping to get it to three of us or so...

My 11 year old is keen to come, but think she might need to get a bit more across the rules before dicving in - the enthusiasm is there though.

Shadow Lodge

I have 22 Fame and a bit of gold.

Is it alright to assume I can buy a Belt of Incredible Dexterity?

Sovereign Court 5/5 5/5 ****

If you mean a Belt of Incredible Dexterity +2, and you have the 4,000gp necessary, sure :-)

Sovereign Court 5/5 5/5 ****

Ladies and Gentlemen, we will be offering tables of Dawn of the Scarlet Sun (the Paizo 'Free RPG Day' module for 2012) at Good Games, City on Sunday the 17th of June.

Register on Warhorn ASAP to secure your seat!

**Please note that this will be in addition to our regular 'Sydney Shadow Lodge' event on Saturday the 16th of June :-)

Shadow Lodge

Found a bit of something useful in the Rival guide.

Aegis of Recovery
CL 3rd; Slot- Neck; Price 1,500gp

Grants wearer +2 resistance bonus on all saving throws made to recover from an effect, such as poison or lingering damage from an attack. This bonus does not help against preliminary saving throws against such effects.

Should the wearer drop below 0 hit points, the aegis cures 2d8+3 points of damage to the wearer and the crumbles, becoming useless from then on.

Not bad for a token of gay love. Or a contingecy heal. Buying. [Have physical resource and is PFS legal].

Have a few coming along with me for the 30th to try their hand at Society play so should be good!

On a side note, can the unsure player just rock up on the day or is pre-reg required? I've only played the Cons so not sure how formal the weekends are.

Shadow Lodge

Question:

According to the guide,

"At character creation and each time you gain a level, you decide if you would like your character to be on the standard or slow advancement
track for the entirety of that level."

I had 13xp prior to the last game, and the last game gave me 3xp which I didn't expect for a 2-slot scenario. Now that I have 1xp over, may I still opt to go Slow Progression because I did just level up?

@Shifty, I have just created the Facebook event for Burwood for the 30th here.

My preference is if you can keep an eye on this event page and when i declare registrations are open register on Warhorn, that helps me as the organizer get a good idea of numbers and allows me to tailor the games and gms to what is required. I am open to additional players rocking up on the day but i cant guarantee a seat at a table, but i will try

On a side note to all we will be running like the city; tables of Dawn of the Scarlet Sun (the Paizo 'Free RPG Day' module for 2012)on the same day as the city so go to the event page or go to Warhorn to register

As per p.24 of the Guide to PFSOP:

"If a character earns more XP than she needs to reach her next level, she may not choose to switch advancement tracks at the new level earned."

So, unfortunately, no, you may not switch to slow progression :-/

Shadow Lodge

Poopy.

Note to self: 2 slots=3xp.

Sovereign Court 5/5 5/5 ****

Normally, two slots *does* = 2xp (since you can normally receive a maximum of 1xp per PFS scenario).

However, 'City of Golden Death' is a Pathfinder Module, adapted for PFS use - which gives you 3xp...

Shadow Lodge

Guess I'll just use a pregen on Sunday.

... hmm... that's not so bad. Shotgun Merisiel or Amiri.

Thanks but those details are incorrect, Jed. Burwood are not running a game day on the 16th, and Sydney are not running a game day on the 17th. The latter is a correction due to Good Games Sydney not having enough space that day. So, and unless I'm mistaken, the timetable for Shadow Lodge events at those locations later this month is:

16th: (Game Day) Sydney, Penrith
17th: (Special Event) Burwood, Penrith
30th: (Game Day) Burwood

That was the plan, but then the venue confirmed that they did not have space for us on that day, so it was necessary to retract that :-/

Grand Lodge

Hi there all. New to PFS (due to a certain talk at the recent - and most excellent Geek Together).
Aside from some rules based questions ill be sending Mr Rigg via email, i have made a disturbing discovery.

Allow me to digress for a moment. My intention was to turn up at either Burwood or Sydney Goodgames for a nice little game. Learn the system, etc and have some fun (been away since 2nd Edit AD&D). Given my crappy shift working job, a regular group is ...difficult... at best.

Lo and behold, (insofar as i can find), there are no games running for nub characters. Penrith is running part 3 of the intro games (my bad for being months and months late to Pathfinder).

Not a critique (as i truly hope i misread) and a moot point (as ill be working each and every day listed for Burwood and Sydney), but i was hoping that someone, somewhere, could pass on some info on a nub game.
Since Saturday past (Geek Together) i have organized 2-3 players so far, up to 5 if all goes well, that i will be 'attempting' to run in Inner Sydney game for, mainly to learn the ropes, but hopefully, to bring some old and retired gamers back to life with.
My hope is that this will increase casual gamers (at the very least) in Sydney up by 5-6.

Ok, after much digression, i think my point was made.. Nub games/gamers? Society Play in Sydney. Possible?

The Exchange

Hey DO,

Penrith is getting up and running starting with the very first modules to have been released for Pathfinder society this month.

Both are level 1-5 adventures so you can bring a brand new character along and jump on a table.

Most of the players are new to the Pathfinder system and those who aren't are willing to help out.

Hope to see you there,
Brendan

Shadow Lodge

Coulda sworn there was a level 1-5 scenario running on Sydney on the 16th.

Grand Lodge

Hannya Shou, thanks, appreciate it. Unfortunately, ill be working ;o(

Brendan. Ill take a closer look at Penriths' lists, and see what work allows. May be worth the trip for me.

Sovereign Court 5/5 5/5 ****

Penrith runs on the 3rd Sunday of the month, the same as Sydney.

Of course, I have a bias to the Sydney store :-P

We are offering Part II and III of the Intro series this month, as well as two other scenarios suitable for levels 1-5; given that all of the players thus far seem to be level two for those, they would also be perfect for new characters :-)

Shadow Lodge

Either way, there's always one level 1-5 game on SL Game days, if I'm not mistaken. And you don't really have to go through First Steps. I didn't, at least.
