Methinks Shou is in denial ;-)

I know he signed that letter as someone else, but truly, he meant every word :-D

Still, whatever he has to tell himself to help him forget the sterling services he has provided to the Society is fine by me, just as long as he doesn't stop :-)

If the numbers are weak by next week, I'm taking Shou off the Harrowing and hopping unto Misaka. :3

Nooo, Brendan must run the Harrowing. I've been training him in how to terrorize and brutalize PC's!

Sovereign Court 5/5 5/5 ****

Ladies and Gentlemen, I wish to officially note that the modules for this month for Sydney Shadow Lodge will be:

Pathfinder Society Scenario #2-12: Below the Silver Tarn

A Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for 7th to 11th level characters (Tiers: 7-8 and 10-11).

In the rural Menador Mountains of southern Nidal, the PCs find themselves in a fog-enshrouded mining town facing a terrible fate. Silver Tarn, on the banks of which the settlement of Stom's Claim stands, has grown a mind of its own. Reaching out with strange abominations of the deep to siphon the souls of the stubborn populace, the lake hopes to release a powerful fiend bound centuries earlier by Arodenite clerics. If the PCs can't stop the Silver Tarn Entity, Stom's Claim and much of western Avistan may soon fall to a fate beyond comprehension.

------------------------------------------------

Pathfinder Society Scenario #2-24: Shadow's Last Stand—Part II: Web of Corruption

A Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for 1st to 7th level characters (Tiers: 1-2, 3-4 and 6-7).

The mastermind behind the Shadow Lodge incursion on the Pathfinder Society has been revealed—a mysterious figure known only as The Spider. Your journey to discover the traitor’s whereabouts and identities will take you throughout the streets and underground of Almas, even to the floor of the People’s Council itself.

5 days to go until Winterfest!

Of the 27 sessions scheduled, 26 are now running with the final one needing only 1 additional player (anyone else for Wonders in the Weave on Sunday morning?) Of the rest, there are only a few seats left so, if you've still to sign up, don't delay any longer.

There have been a few more changes to make space for games in high demand so check back to see if you've been affected in any way. As always, if we've switched a game you were registered for, we should've switched your registration as well, but please check to see everything still looks good.

The schedule is pretty stable now and looks like this:

Saturday August 11 Morning (9AM - 1:30PM)

  • We Be Goblins (1)
  • 3x The Temple of Empyreal Enlightenment (1-5)
  • The Haunting of Hinojai (5-9)
  • No Response From Deepmar, Part 1 (7-9)

Saturday August 11 Afternoon (1:30PM - 6PM)

  • 3x The Goblinblood Dead (1-5)
  • No Response From Deepmar, Part 2 (7-9)
  • 2x Portal of the Sacred Rune (7-11)

Saturday August 11 Evening (6:30PM - 11PM)

  • 2x The Frostfur Captives (1-5)
  • The Icebound Outpost (1-5)
  • Dawn of the Scarlet Sun (4-6)
  • No Response From Deepmar, Part 3 (7-9)

Sunday August 12 Morning (9AM - 1:30PM)

  • The Icebound Outpost (1-5)
  • Song of the Sea Witch (3-7)
  • Wonders in the Weave, Part 1: The Dog Pharoah's Tomb (5-9)
  • 2x The Rats of Round Mountain, Part 1: The Sundered Path (7-11)

Sunday August 12 Afternoon (1:30PM - 6PM)

  • The Temple of Empyreal Enlightenment (1-5)
  • Storming the Diamond Gate (3-7)
  • Wonders in the Weave, Part 2: Snakes in the Fold (5-9)
  • 2x The Rats of Round Mountain, Part 2: Pagoda of the Rat (7-11)

If you haven't already, grab one of the few remaining seats by registering through the Winterfest Warhorn site now.

*sigh* - I always seem to have business travel over the top of these events.

4/5 5/55/55/55/5

I hear ya Hela.

Except this time it is my group that is away (except for me).

Unfortunately my one character is one session away from a level up that would take him out of tier for the guys who are trying to catch up, and so he's on ice till they get back in Sep.

Silver Crusade

Attn: GMs of Winterfest,

Some new guys are coming to Winterfest from the Game Lovers meetup group. I assume they'll not have a PFS account, so I thought I'd give you guys a heads up to bring pregens and whatnot.

Sovereign Court 5/5 5/5 ****

I realise that everyone may be feeling a little 'PFS fatigue' after Winterfest last weekend, but this is a gentle reminder that Sydney Shadow Lodge will be offering:

Pathfinder Society Scenario #2-12: Below the Silver Tarn (7-11)

and

Pathfinder Society Scenario #2-24: Shadow's Last Stand—Part II: Web of Corruption (1-7)

this Saturday at the Good Games, City store :-)

Hey, that's what Orcland did.

Shadow Lodge

Probably hopping on to Jubei for Sydney Game day and save the last XP to level 11 for Blacktown Game day.

QUESTION FOR GMS:

If I neglected to loot a body for gold, is the amount left behind deducted from the Chronicle Sheet?

Morning All

I'm looking at the schedule for next Blacktown Games Day (September 8th) and I had an interesting idea ....

What would people come to play? Can't promise to deliver anything specific, but I can try. Would prefer not the most recent mods, and definately don't want to clash with anything at RisenRune, but otherwise ... ideas?

I can't speak for other GM's, but I will generally give the party the gold if someone has been 'defeated'. There are certain times where I don't reward the full gold, but you have to be actively denying something or go out of your way to avoid certain things for that to happen.

GM Halved my gp loot because we didn't loot the bodies or did a diplomacy check to get extra stuff from NPCs from First Steps 3.

As if not getting the boon wasn't bad enough.

First I've heard of that sort of thing happening in Sydney play before - the GM's I've had have all been great and not looking for the chance to nail players on minutae.

That said, will be back in Sydney at the end of this month and am DYING to play PFS.

I concur, the GM's have been really positive (I speak from limited experience though) and I have been won over by their general helpfulness.

That said, so far a few of them (not just GM's) have said "Oh, YOU are Shifty? (insert mutter comment here)" - I must have some kind of reputation!

Alright, based on the requests that I have had thus far, Ladies and Gentlemen, I wish to announce that the following modules will be made available at Sydney Shadow Lodge this month:

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Pathfinder Society Scenario #2-17: Shades of Ice—Part II: Exiles of Winter

A Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for 1st to 5th level characters (Tiers: 1-2 and 4-5).

Following the trail of the insidious Shadow Lodge from Trollheim to the icebound city of Whitethrone in the witch-ruled nation of Irrisen, the PCs must locate the hidden lodge of their contact’s kidnapper. Can they get past the city’s defenses, infiltrate the Shadow Lodge headquarters and rescue the Pathfinder Society’s valuable ally, or will they—like so many before them—find their bones ground to make Baba Yaga’s bread?

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Pathfinder Module: The Midnight Mirror

A horror and investigation adventure for 3rd-to-5th-level characters.

The sleepy town of Karpad in shadow-haunted Nidal has long been overseen by the Boroi family, and until a few weeks ago, the citizens under Baron Stepan Boroi's rule have lived uneventful lives of relative peace. Recently, however, the outbreak of a virulent and fatal disease and a number of mysterious disappearances have left the people of Karpad paranoid and fearful. Even Baron Stepan has been acting strangely, and now the tenuous balance of racial tensions between Karpad's human and fetchling populations stands on the verge of collapsing into total anarchy. Can the PCs uncover the root of Karpad's problems and put an end to the deadly virus, the terrifying disappearances, and the miasma of fear and distrust that threatens to overwhelm the region?

I checked the SydCon schedule and I didn't see any Pathfinder games there. I would assume that all Pathfinder Society games will be hosted at Risen Rune at the Glebe Hotel.

Is that within walking distance of SydCon?

Ladies and Gentlemen, I am pleased to announce that the games that will be run this month at the Sydney Shadow Lodge games day at Good Games, City (on October 20th, starting at 10:15am) are as follows:

Pathfinder Society Scenario #28: Lyrics of Extinction

A Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for 7th to 11th level characters (Tiers: 7–8 and 10–11).

The fabled ruined city of Dokeran, deep inside the heart of the Mwangi Expanse, has been found and it's your job as a Pathfinder to explore it and discover how it fell. After fighting through fiends, enslaved warriors, and the damned spirits of Dokeran's dead, you find that the ruined city has a dark secret—one you might not survive.

Written by Elizabeth Leib

Pathfinder Society Scenario #45: Delirium's Tangle

A Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for 1st to 5th level characters (Tiers: 1–2 and 4–5).

The Pathfinder Society owes Grandmaster Torch a favor and he's calling it in. It seems he misplaced Nuar Spiritskin, the famous minotaur prince of Absalom, and Torch needs you to find the prince before the city discovers that the minotaur is missing. He sends you deep beneath Absalom into a maddening maze of malign shapes, hideous creatures, and secrets that haven't seen the light of day for more than a thousand years.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I am pleased to announce that the games that will be run this month (in preparation for starting to run the 'Thornkeep' series next month [so that PCs will have a couple of adventures under their belts before they start the series]) at the Sydney Shadow Lodge games day at Good Games, City (on November 17th, starting at 10:15am) are as follows:

Pathfinder Module: Master of the Fallen Fortress

A dungeon-based adventure for 1st-level characters.

The ruined siege castles outside Absalom have long beckoned adventurers looking to make a name for themselves. Now an earthquake has cracked open one of these fabled ruins, and its lost mysteries and fantastic treasures lie exposed for the first time in centuries. But the tower's empty halls once more echo with living footfalls, and a new master has claimed the Fallen Fortress as his own. Can the PCs find a way to get inside its shattered walls? What ancient dangers and fresh threats will they encounter inside its crumbling chambers? And will the PCs be able to defeat the current Master of the Fallen Fortress?

Pathfinder Module: We Be Goblins!

A most unusual adventure for 1st-level goblin characters.

The Licktoad goblins of Brinestump Marsh have stumbled upon a great treasure—fireworks! Yet unfortunately for them, the tribe member responsible for the discovery has already been exiled for the abhorrent crime of writing (which every goblin knows steals words from your head). To remedy this situation, the Licktoads’ leader, His Mighty Girthness Chief Rendwattle Gutwad, has declared that the greatest heroes of the tribe must venture forth to retrieve the rest of the fireworks from a derelict ship stranded in the marsh. In order to prove themselves as the Licktoads’ bravest goblins, the PCs must complete a series of dangerous dares, from swallowing bull slugs and braving the dreaded Earbiter to dancing with Squealy Nord himself. Yet even once they’ve proven their mettle, the adventure is just beginning. For the ship in question is far from uninhabited, and Vorka the cannibal goblin would like nothing better than a few tasty visitors....
