I have an important update in regards to Sydcon. Due to differences of opinion between Sydcon organisers and our PFS organisers/GMs (myself included), it has been decided that we will not be running Pathfinder Society at Sydcon, but instead at the nearby Roxbury hotel. The official email I received just today is outlined in the spoiler tag

EDIT: Obviously, the registration system will need to be changed. Al has informed me that he plans to use a Warhorn (http://warhorn.net/) account to handle this. Watch this thread for details.

The venue for our after-con drinks is yet to be confirmed, but is usually the Nag's Head (right down the road from the Roxbury). Details for these events can be found on our website

We're giving you more of what you've asked for!

With several sessions booked out or oversubscribed over the last week, we have made some changes to the schedule to open up more opportunities to play the most popular scenarios.

Among other changes, we have created a second stream of the popular Feast of Ravenmoor three-part special and created two new special sessions called "Player's Choice". Here, with your fellow players, you'll be able to negotiate with the GM ahead of time or on the day itself to play any scenario from any of the Seasons of Organised Play! So if you haven't yet registered, make sure you sign up straight away at our Warhorn site here in case these new seats fill up fast too!

So, with two weeks to go, 19 of the 30 sessions are now running (an increase of 7 tables from last week) with:

• 1 session booked out,
  
• 4 sessions with 1 seat left,
  
• 5 sessions with 2 seats left, and
  
• 9 sessions with 3 seats left.

Of the 11 sessions still to reach minimum numbers:

I stopped in on the weekend (I have run a couple if games there myself previously - at the moment other commitments prevent from putting together a reliable schedule).

Tim has a number of people who would like to play on an ongoing basis and run a game on the 'off weekend' (he has 4e running a weekend a month).

If you are organised and want to build the community it's good to have a enthusiastic owner in your corner like Tim.

nb: He has a great selection of novels too (his newsletter runs to about thirty pages).He also gets all the Writers at his store for signings (which is pretty impressive).

We've also had some requests to try to aim for an earlier finish time in some sessions so that players can catch trains, planes and automobiles, and so we've talked to the fantastic guys at the Roxbury and they've offered to open up the place to us an hour earlier! So, whenever you can, turn up from 9am for morning sessions, and 2pm for afternoon sessions, and as soon as all players registered for a table are present, it'll start. So if you haven't yet registered, make sure you sign up straight away at our Warhorn site here!

Our inaugural Shadow Lodge convention was a massive success! We had 40 players filling 145 seats over 31 sessions, making Shadow Lodge 2011 the largest ever Pathfinder event in Sydney, and the largest in Australia this year. Thanks to all who came. More info here.

What should a rookie player prepare for the normal PFS day? I don't really want to use a pre-gen. I believe I need to enter a Pathfinder Society number and confirmation code on line to confirm my character?

Ah, good to hear. The admin can be a bit daunting I know.

We typically run games on the first Saturday of each month. So the next one will be on the 5th November.

The Unlimited Hobbies (aka: Grey Matter Games) shop is at Unit 2, 94 Kildare Rd, Blacktown.

I've yet to compile the list of games for the day, but I do have a few in mind:

Author of the scenario Matt Goodal is scheduled to GM Wrath of the Accursed at PaizoConOz in Brisbane next week, although tbe table is looking for players (currently only two signed up).

I'd like to have offered more high-Tier scenarios for veteran players, but there just hasn't been the demand for them - everyone is signing up for the low-Tier scenarios.

Sad but true. I'll only be at PaizoCon for the Saturday (the special is what I'm especially interested in) and even then I'll be a low level character since my fiancee has insisted that we be on the same table.

One or two more players would of course be ideal, but I think I'll leave this on the schedule to run even if it's a table of three plus a pre-gen, because how often do you get an opportunity to have the author of a scenario GM it for you at PaizoConOz? Not that often.

Good Games do look after us really well. I think it's Elsa? at the Burwood store in particular is brilliant. She has gone out of her way to fit more tables on the floor by moving shelves etc..

And lunch is only a shop or two away - which is great if you like dumplings. Mind you, the Sydney Store - opposite Central Station is just next to a KFC - (yes food matters to me).

This Saturday Oct 29th, we'll be running the Beginner Box Bash at Good Games Sydney and Burwood to celebrate the launch of the Pathfinder RPG Beginner Box. If you can't make it this weekend, we'll be running it next weekend too, at Unlimited Hobbies in Blacktown.

The day’s events include four new, one-hour quests highlighting the Beginner Box characters and rules. Special Beginner Box Bash punch cards allow players to keep track of their adventures and learn more about the Pathfinder RPG and Pathfinder Society. And as those who complete all four adventures will receive a special reward: a Pathfinder Society Chronicle sheet to welcome them into the Pathfinder Society or to enhance any existing Pathfinder Society character.

This is the perfect opportunity to introduce a friend or two to the game we already love, so please let me know if you'll be coming along and who, if anyone, you'll be bringing and I'll do my best to ensure that everyone gets to play.

All Game Masters who run four events during the Beginner Box Bash can also expect their own special Pathfinder Society Chronicle sheet. So, if any of you would like to GM at the Beginner Box Bash or host the event at another store this weekend or on a later weekend, get in touch with me ASAP, and I'll help you make it happen.

Yes, we're running games at Good Games Burwood and Sydney next Saturday (Nov 26th). At present, we're thinking of running some old classics which you may have already played: Silent Tide, and/or Mists of Mwangi at Burwood; The Hydra's Fang Incident and/or Frozen Fingers of Midnight at Sydney.
