WOOOOOOOOOOO Right on time, Gene. THANK YOU! I've broken up my weekly Pathfinder RPG game into two types of sessions, lowers and highers. The players made L1 characters again and we play the group of PCs each week that I have a story prepared for. Lately its been 100% inprov (really top shelf stuff). As for the "higher arc" I'll run that Monday with the Eye of Flame. I think he's one of the four in the 4-pack. I'll check tonight. He'll be the first of four or five "bosses" they'll need to slay to stave off a civil war within the barony. If all goes well, (from the DM's POV), they'll fell very successful, but maybe I'll still get to pull off a night of actual WAR, using either some Pathfinder rules or some old Battlesystem (revised) rules. Either way, I don't really care the order of the bosses you stat-up, so long as maybe you do them in order of increasing CR. That way they'll be ready as I play them out. I'll let you know what feedback i have, if any on the stats. Finally, what minions would be good for these bosses. I know in DDO the Tharashk Hounds are pretty prevalent wherever there are beholder bosses. Perhaps I'll have a look at the paizo abberations in the Bestiary. I wonder if there are any abberant dog minis we could find. Just wondering. Take care and THANK YOU. The Eye of Flame for v.3.5 looks AMAZING!!!!
One question on the Environment: Tundra ?? Tundra? well, okay, but maybe this was supposed to be something else? Anyhow, wonderful stats, really wicked abilities, captured nicely for v.3.5 I sooo cannot wait to use this one.
I'll most likely be statting them in increasing CR. The four-pack of beholders came with the Eye of Flame, Eye of Frost, Eye of Shadow (I think), and the Eye Tyrant. CR-wise, I'll probably be going with the following:
--- Good catch on the 'tundra' environment. That is indeed an error, I'll get it fixed and re-uploaded right away. Also noticed I didn't pick the thing's feats, either. How I manage that one is beyond me. Here's a link to the updated version (old links will get you to it, too):

Especially since I'm doing them for both 3.5 AND Pathfinder now. Should be... interesting. :D

I do have some plans to get some stuff up over this week. If all goes well I should complete everything of CR 6 on the list (amounting to four new critters). It's taking a bit longer than usual due to them having both 3.5 and Pathfinder stats. EDIT: Okay, what I think I'm going to do for the time being is just post the 3.5 stats for things I stat up. I'll be going through (already started, actually) and doing PF conversions for everything I've statted up to this point; as I make conversions I'll announce them on here or something.
Oooookay, two new critters for you folks today:
Got more on the way. I'm hoping to get them out today. If not, expect them up sometime Sunday. As per usual, if you notice any errors let me know and I'll fix 'em up. These are only the 3.5 stats; I'll convert them to Pathfinder RPG once I get to them in the conversion list. --- Updated Entries:

I picked up a few of those massive crocs/aligators. the based is really big... Like 15'. I'm not sure what these are called or if they have specific powers. Can you recommend which PAIZO or v.3.5. stat to use, or should we actually add them to the list? I also picked up that massive iron golem juggernaut. Did Gene stat those already? On the fun side, I look forward to the volcanic dragon... or should I just use one of PAIZO's existing stats for it? please advise? Other stats look great Gene, keep up the awesome work!
How about the HeroSlayer Hydra. I picked up that piece at GENCON and would like it to be a good challenge for an 11th/12th level party. CR 15 or 16 if possible, but I'll leave that to you Gene, the expert. I can't seem to find an advanced Hydra in the Pathfinder RPG; maybe in the Bestiary 3 next month? Can you add this to the list? Pax
Gene is amazing, hope he comes back soon. Well, the backlog of minis needing stats is growing. A thought... Mairkurion and others.... why don't we try to mock-up a draft of some of these beasts ourselves, then when Gene gets back he might have less to do? I'd really like to see that fen hydra and the hero slayer hydra... Pax
Beholder Eye-Of-Flame Playtest In a memorable adventure scene, the players approach the center of a town overrun by abberations. They perceive the scene to be childs play with etherial filchers and abyssal eviscerators about. The PCs had been there before and already secured all their valuables from the filchers. Just then, the Eye-of-Flame watches from just behind a pointed A-frame roof top, receiving cover and hiding initially. Blast! The wizard is telekinessed and throw a distance to the ground! Great move. The groaning of the Eye-of-Flame is heard. The wizard dimension doors up to the rooftop, and horrific battle ensues. Nobody expects the eye of flame to burst mid-way through its hp! Although a generally silly mechanic in 4e, this feature burst worked well with Pathfinder. The rooftop is soon ablaze! Battle ensues down below and up high. The Eye-of-Flame lasts long enough to scare the bejezzus out of the players, and add great thematic drama to the scene. Eye stalks blast, a chomp from the mouth, and eventually the beholder looks weakened. Then BOOM! Another fiery burst. The players loved it.
Soon, we'll have Pathfinder RPG minis to discuss, but we've still a ways to go on useful other minis in our collections. Basically this thread is awesome because not only is Pathfinder RPG backward-compatible, but now the minis are quasi-laterally compatible! lol
REALLY sorry I've not been around for the past couple months, folks, been hellishly busy dealing with real-life related crap and working on stuff for my home games. Not to mention that I hit a pretty nasty case of D&D burnout for awhile there. That said, I /have/ been working on stuff with what downtime I do have; the foulspawn mangler is more or less done it just needs some stuff finalized and I need to write up flavor text for it. Once that's done I'll be moving onto the other critters on the list. Quote:
For the crocodiles, I'd just take the stats in bestiary 1 for a crocodile and apply the Giant and Advanced templates to it. That should give you a suitably nasty critter to throw at a lower level party. Alternatively, you could apply the Young Creature template to a dire crocodile and get something a bit tougher. The iron golem juggernaut is already on the list for things to be written up. It'll probably be awhile, though. For the volcanic dragon, I'd just use the magma dragon stats in bestiary 2. Just find a dragon of the appropriate size and there ya go! Quote: How about the HeroSlayer Hydra. I picked up that piece at GENCON and would like it to be a good challenge for an 11th/12th level party. CR 15 or 16 if possible, but I'll leave that to you Gene, the expert. Added to the list (as well as the fen hydra). It's looking like it'll be a CR 18 or so (normally I'd write it up as a CR 23-24 based on its card, but I don't really want to do anything epic for the time being). Quote: Beholder Eye-Of-Flame Playtest Love it! Glad to see your group enjoyed the eye of flame. :D --- The current 'to-do' list is as follows:
Woot! and Double Woot, to ya, Gene!!! Thanks for keeping the torch lit on these conversions. I appreciate the list you're working, and since we're all in it for the long haul, we understand RL comes first, and are patient to wait for your quality work. And with that, I shall sing you a Gene-song: Buddy-Gene
My buddy, Gene, stats my minis,
I take all his strong advice,
My buddy, Gene, and Mairkurion
Oh
Cus' 4e is not my game.
GOLD - Music by John Stewart, Lyrics by Pax Veritas When the lights go down, in the California town,
Rolling up my 20s, drinking Mountain Dew,
My online buddy, Mr. Gene, with the newest stats you've seen,
So I'm singing on the website, waitin' for some more,
Aw' the Pathfinder game makes the 4e thing look lame,
We're using 4e minis, with Gene's awesome scores,
Gamers out there finding platinum and gold,
Ooh yeah. I've got that Iron Golem Juggernaut too - Let me see if I can locate Mr. Gene. *Casts Locate Gene Spell* Also, I'll check the PAIZO Bestiary 2 or 3... I seem to recall one that could possibly be used with that mini.
Well I finally used the Shadowflayer in my game last week (a la Gene's stats), and it's amazing how those things scare the pants off the players-regardless of level or actual threat, they're simply very scary. lol Good stats by the way - consider that a playtest. Thing is, they can't be the bbeg, but they work really well as supporting cast.
Until now I used the Deathlock Wight, which was really fantastic when it used its reanimate ability for the first time and the players where like "WTH". The corruption corpse was really effective from the roleplaing & horror point of view: When describing them how it teared its rotten flesh from its body and throws it at them, you should have seen the look on their faces. And finally I used the Beholder Eye of flame in a battle with another "normal" and some yugoloth in a fight versus level 16 PCs, and still the Eye of Flame contributed to the fight with its supporting abilities, which was really cool. I would love to see some of the other monsters converted, as I stated in a former post, the Draegloth Abomination and Iron Golem Juggernaut are in my main interest, but I am happy about every other converted creature I could use in my play!
I finally got to use the Phaseweb Spiders last week with a Scythejaw combo at the entrance to an old abandoned keep. The players really loved it. We miss you Gene, and would love to have just a few more precious ones statted up as only you can do with flair. -Pax
