Ok, so the title is "Skeleton Moon"...

Did the meaning of that name get lost in translation? I really can't figure out what it means, neither could I find anything about it on the net other than a site dedicated to Adobe's softwares...

Anyone? Please?

I'm guessing that is a unwritten challenge, have a reason why the title is valid. Looking at Hydra's Fang, you wouldn't think you were going after a human, but a hydra.

No clue here. I think that's part of the challenge. Come up with some explanation for why it'd be called that within the adventure itself (and without using undead!)

*edit: Cpt, you sneaky ninja bastard you!

Makes me think of Groetus...

Holy symbol of the god of apocalypse. Groetus is represented by a skull on a full moon.

Excellent! ;)

I like naming stories/adventures a name that has more than one meaning. I wanted to be sure it didn't already have one (I imagined something like a pale moon or a full moon hidden by dark clouds)

Ok! Good luck everyone! Time to get the brain juice running ;)

Right, I've got the outline for my adventure in my head, now to put it on paper...

Cheers! :D

It is indeed an unwritten challenge. If your proposal doesn't justify the title, chances are good that proposal won't be accepted.

I would recommend *not* having it be about a skeleton dropping its pants.

I am glad that someone started a thread about this. I couldn't find anything either and thought it was some weird cultural reference that I was not aware of.

Skeleton moon, no undead, no cult, maybe a society ;>

Dammit! Back to the drawing board, I guess . . .

Mmm... actually in my mind the story (just supposedly finished the proposal) explains the name, but I didnt make it clear in the proposal... Ill think about how to add it in on my next revision...

~grins~ Or a special phase of the moon? Sort of like a "Hunter's Moon". (~I am not submitting anything, so I have no problem if anyone uses that idea.)

Picture if you will: the dreaded spawn of a dragon and the moon.

~evil laughter~ Yes! Soon my plan to conquer the world will be ready! ~goes off to sparpen my claws~

I think it's funny that Josh felt he had to ban the half-dragon assassin vine.

maybe it's just sad.

4. No undead. No cults. Something creepy is going on there.

By "cults" does it just mean bunches of black-hatted ZK worshippers doing nasty evilness just for the sake of it, or is it a more general prohibition against groups of organised baddies? For example, would a mafia-type criminal gang automatically fall foul of this restriction?

Also how creepy is acceptable? Ostensibly PFS is a family show, so presumably nearer the Addams family than the Exorcist, yes?

I'm certain cults refers mostly to evil guys doing evil things for evil gods in the dark of the night.

As for creepy, look at Hook Mountain Massacre (PF3) and don't do that =p.

A good rule of thumb is to be eerie without being gross. Hostel and Saw are bad, but Alien or Terminator is ok.

The hunters moon isn't a specific phase, but rather the second full moon after the autumnal equinox.

In my case, i am looking to use the skeleton moon as the name used in a magicial tradition to describe a blue moon.

In my case, I am making skeleton moon really creepy, but not telling anyone what it is yet. : }

~shrugs~ Well, you get my point anyway. ~grins~

By "not too creepy," we're basically asking for no dead kids, really. That, and no long detailed descriptions of entrails and other gory parts. Keep it PG-13, for those familiar with the USA movie ratings system.

Scarab Sages RPG Superstar 2013

oh, yeah. Sorry about the dead kids, guys. I won't do it again.

But they were in my instructions. : }
