Grand OGL Wiki (Week of October 27, 2009)

This week has been a little slow for me to get more material online. We added Template Booster from Reality Deviant Publications to the Grand OGL Wiki in its entirety. More content was added from the Quintessential Chaos Mage (with Joel’s assistance) and other content from the Quintessential Bard (MGP).

Missing OGC:
Chaos Mage – chaos mechanics, familiars, chaos equipment, new uses for skills, chaos magic duels.
Bard – prestige classes, spells, bardic duels, entertainment venues.

Done waiting to be ported live:
Quintessential Cleric

Complete Open Game Content available from: Critical Feats (RDP), Template Booster (RDP), Whispering Woodwind (CMG), Quintessential Aristocrat (MGP), Quintessential Barbarian (MGP), Quintessential Barbarian II (MGP)

Some Open Game Content available from: Quintessential Bard (MGP), Quintessential Drow (MGP), Quintessential Chaos Mage (MGP), Spells and Magic (DW/Bas), Monster Encyclopaedia I (MGP)

Needed:
1) Does S.T. Cooley Publishing still have a website? My link doesn't go anywhere anymore.
2) Author Profiles: If you are an author whose work now appears on the Grand OGL Wiki we would love to carry a profile for you.
3) Donation: We are always looking for more publishers to donate content to the Grand OGL Wiki.

Quintessential Chaos Mage from Mongoose is fully up. And yes, I'm tooting my own horn since I put it up there! :)

Elf lovers, around half of Quintessential Elf is up. And if you want to make the drow even more nasty in your Second Darkness campaign, here's Quintessential Drow.

I'm now working on the Monster Encyclopedia I: Ravagers of the Realms for a change of pace. Finished C and D. The Chacharodoom is utterly bizarre (befitting an aberration) while the five demons are quite distinct from those found in the SRD.

More stuff on the Grand OGL Wiki:

I'm currently working on the Monster Encyclopedia -- Volume 1, letter E.

Spells and Magic from Bastion Press/DragonWing Games is now up in its entirety.

Creative Mountain Games has donated Potent Portals.

Game reviews!

Full details can be found here. Lots of backwards-compatible stuff for the Pathfinder RPG. Yay!

Dark Archive

Three major updates:

More monsters (by yours truly :).

More stuff on bards and dwarves.

Potent Portals for your game. Your players will never trust a window again...

More Monsters, Dwarves, Drow and Tables...

Quintessential Dwarves are nearly completion.

More monsters from the Monster Encyclopedia I. Golems are scary!

Quintessential Drow almost done. If you know your players are checking out the Second Darkness AP, check this book out. They won't know what hit them :)

Great news! Skraag -- City of Orcs will be available soon in the Wiki.

More stuff on-line for 3.x and Pathfinder enthusiasts:

I received another email from John on Friday. He sent over the last of the material from the Quintessential Dwarf. So now if you need a dwarven character concepts, prestige classes, ale, feats, runecannons, devil dwarf subrace, runes, gods, mines, underdeep beasts and holds.

The Quintessential Drow (a mature title) added material on equipment, magic items, spells, fleshcrafting modifications, gravebinding, gods, spiders, cities and political schemes (Game of Bones).

So that two more races books written by Sam Witt up on the wiki now. (Anyone know how to reach him, I'd like to get an author profile).

Yair got to me on Friday as well finishing up the Quintessential Druid (he’s moving on to Quint Druid II now). If you need druid character concepts, prestige classes, hunting, feats, equipment, potion trees, planes of existence, spells, wildshape customization or circles.

Completed books so far include many Quintessentials (Aristocrat, Barbarian, Barbarian II, Bard, Bard II, Chaos Mage, Cleric, Drow, Druid, Dwarf and Elf) (Mongoose), Spells and Magic (Dragonwing), Potent Portals (Creative Mountain Games), The Whispering Woodwind (Creative Mountain Games), Blasphemous Terrors (Reality Deviants), Critical Feats (Reality Deviants).

Link here. Glad to hear folks like all those monsters :)

Latest update from "The Grand OGL Wiki" blog:

Three Hags, A Harpooner and a Harrowing over in Joel's Monster Encyclopedia work.

I also linked up more of Crothian's reviews this time his reviews of Monsters of Twillight: Curse Monsters, Athenaeum Arcane: Cursed Items (where he said I might be a writer on the rise - blush) and Critical Feats.

The planes known as Chasm and Infernum are up. Oh, and did I mention Mal?

<snikt>

Please tell me how we can serve you better:

What content do you want to see?
What products do you want reviewed?

Stormhaven -- City of a Thousand Seas now available for your PCs to visit with Headless Screamers, Hearthfire Elementals, Hellbats, and Hellephants, waiting to kill them :)

More stuff:

It’s amazing how much content people can pile on my virtual desk when I’m aware at a conference.

Joel has added a bunch of monsters including jubears, knockers, living ghouls and masked powers. Plus all the other J,K and L monsters. He’s also partway through the Ms. I’ve updated the page to reflect all the remaining monsters yet to come.

John sent over three sections from the Quintessential Elf II: Advanced Tactics including information on elven prestige classes, elven magic and feats.

Mike sent me the Career Path’s from the Quintessential Fighter II and Character Concepts from the Quintessential Sorcerer.

I spoke to Alex the other day, he has some free time and took the Quintessential Gnome off my hands to work on.

I’ll be continuing to add content from others, work on the Book of the Planes, and post more reviews. (Oh yeah, multiclass tables for the Quintessential Cleric as well).

We are always looking for more content pullers, companies to donate content, products to review, author profiles to host.

Here's a list of all the 3PPs currently on the Grand OGL Wiki and their various states of completeness.

Awesome stuff, by the way. I'm already making use of it. I'll have to take a closer look at buying some of Mongoose's stuff.

What are you using? It would help to inform our work.

Also if you are making custom material using one product or another we would be glad to host creations.

About seventeen kinds of thanks for the Classic Play: Book of the Planes stuff. I'm taking all sorts of bits for my in-progress "Codex of the Infinite Planes" project.

Interesting. Must read and bookmark after I get home.

John is also working on Feuerring and Zahhak, two of Mongoose's stand alone Planes books. After I get done Book of Dragons, I'll likely turn my attention to the Book of Hell.

My player's character just saved Freeport. She's going to get a chance to try to spread the good word about her goddess, the demi-goddess of good luck. I'll be using the Quintessential Cleric's rules on conversions, which were elegant and useful. I also looked at the QBard, but decided that the venue creation system was too much of a hassle for the casino she's going to build as a temple. Of course, so was the DMGII. So I've decided to yoink the Gold Goblin for that.

Sorry I've been behind. December's been killing me with a new blog, reviewing DVDs, writing company, and playing/running games.

Anyway, still working through the S's in the Monster Encyclopaedia I: Ravagers of the Realms book. Hoping to move on to T's by week's end, if not sooner. Will then start on the next monster book.
