I only play PFS at Gencon =) Long story but our local chapter does not have a time slot that matches my time I can play.
I've played alot the last couple of years and have a lvl 5 Character.
I have read the Pathfinder Society Players Guide but wanted to clarify a point.
Ihave a good chunk of gold, never having bought and item. Are the only items I can purchase items on my journal sheets? Does your fame somewhow play into that calculation based on teh GP value available?
If I read it correctly you can always buy +1 weapon, armor and shield. If I wanted anything better, say a +2 shield or something, does it need to be on a journal sheet?
Specifically, I am looking at a Head of Chrisima +2. Not on my journal sheets. Can I buy it?
Just want to make sure I am legal going into Gencon this year.

If an item isn't Always Available (like the +1 armor and weapons you listed), or on your chronicle sheets, you need to have enough Fame to buy it. Your Fame score is the total of all the Prestige Points you've earned on that character (it doesn't go down when you spend them), and there's a table in the Guide that lists the limits for what you can buy at different levels of fame.

Here's how purchasing works in PFS. Assuming you have the gold to buy an item...
Is it always available?
• All basic armor, gear, items, and weapons from Chapter
6 of the Core Rulebook, including Small and Large-sized items. This does not include equipment made from dragonhide, but it does include equipment made from the other special materials, such as alchemical silver and cold iron (see the Special Materials section on page 154 of the Core Rulebook). All mundane (completely nonmagical) weapons, armor, equipment, and alchemical gear found in any other source that is legal for play are considered always available.
• +1 weapons (2,000 gp + 300 for the masterwork weapon cost + item cost)
• +1 armor (1,000 gp + 150 for the masterwork armor cost + item cost)
• +1 shields (1,000 gp + 150 for the masterwork armor cost + item cost)
• Potions and oils of 0- or 1st-level spells at caster level 1st (50 gp or less)
• Scrolls of 0- or 1st-level spells at caster level 1 (50 gp or less)
• Wayfinder (50% discount—250 gp; see page 299 of The Inner Sea World Guide)
If not, is it listed on one of your chronicle sheets?
If not, do you have the Fame to purchase the item?
Minimum Fame Required / Maximum Item Cost
Under 5 / 0 gp
5 / 500 gp
9 / 1,500 gp
13 / 3,000 gp
18 / 5,250 gp
22 / 8,000 gp
27 / 11,750 gp
31 / 16,500 gp
36 / 23,000 gp
40 / 31,000 gp
45 / 41,000 gp
49 / 54,000 gp
54 / 70,000 gp
58 / 92,500 gp
63 / 120,000 gp
67 / 157,500 gp
72 / 205,000 gp
76 / 265,000 gp
81 / 342,500 gp
85 / 440,000 gp
90 / 565,000 gp
94 / 680,000 gp
99 / 800,000 gp
So for your Headband of Charisma +2, you're looking at a 4000gp item that is not Always Available. For that, you'll either need to find it on a Chronicle sheet or have a minimum of 18 Fame accumulated.
Hope that helps.

Yes. If your current fame is 18, you can buy an item that is 5,250 gp or less. But if the item is, say 5,400 gp, you have to wait until it appears on a chronicle sheet or you have a fame of 22.
Basically, if it appears on the chronicle sheet, it means that the lodge made a copy of what you turned in and thus is allowing you to purchase the copy.

One change you need to include in your boilerplate for "Always Available" items:
Firearms are not always available:All basic armor, gear, items, and weapons from Chapter 6 of the Core Rulebook, including Small and Large-sized items. This does not include equipment made from dragonhide, but it does include equipment made from the other PFS-legal special materials, such as alchemical silver and cold iron (see the Special Materials section on page 154 of the Core Rulebook). All mundane (completely nonmagical) weapons (except firearms), armor, equipment, and alchemical gear found in any other source that is legal for play are considered always available.
Firearms require an appropriate amount of Fame, or listing on a chronicle sheet, to be available to purchase.
