Personal theme song

Ever since it first started playing on FM radio

"Deacon Blues" Steely Dan
How I wish I could live my life, I try and try

"Epic" by Faith No More or "Negasonic Teenage Warhead" by Monster Magnet.....or "Sick of Myself" by Matthew Sweet....

Wouldn't it be great if Paizo could produce an album of our personal theme songs? I know it will not happen because of the licencing issues, but still a guy can dream, right?

ya, i mean, getting the rights to use the Bwoooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! song alone would prolly drive their lawyers up a wall.

it would also be cool, if everytime someone uses the Bwooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! sound, he/she adds 3 more o's to it. it'll just keep growing!

I have too many theme songs, and they change hourly, depending on what's playing on my mental radio.

Common songs;

Dream Theater - Pull Me Under
Stabbing Westward - What Do I Have to Do?
Queensryche - Revolution Calling
Breaking Benjamin - Polyamorous

Liberty's Edge

"Can't Keep It In"...Cat Stevens.

Dark Archive

"Closer", Nine Inch Nails. }; )

I would think and hope that this is true for most of us.

not really, since there's a differance between a theme song and songs that we think about often. for example, my theme song would be "I am a Scientist", since its lyrics and theme match me to a tee, but i can't remember the last time i actually sang the song in my head, or even had it pop in. usually, i just get the song patio lanterns, or Linkin Park. I prefer to look at it as the theme song being the opening song to the sitcom of your life and all the other songs being the ones that play when going to or coming back from commercials, or in the background at random moments.

Incidently, Rush's "Freewill" would be the closing song. or the other way around.

I'm not so sure what my theme song would be these days, but when I was younger it probably would have been Rush's 'Subdivisions'.

One thing I love about this board, lots of RUSH fans...

[threadjack] Since I know you're a Rush fan from your post above, I won't ask if you were quoting the Rush version or the Mindless Self Indulgence version. Quick question though: What's your thought on the MSI version.

Sorry for threadjacking, I'm just curious.

Yes but what does it say bout me when I have either strange classical music

"pop"
into my head or things such as metallica's call of Kutlu

Scarab Sages

probably means you got wide range of taste in music.

Yes, I have numerous songs playing in my head often, but I wouldn't pick most of them to describe me, my life or anything in any way. They are just music which is playing in my mental radio.

In the movie of my life, when I am first introduced to the screen the music of preference would be Pop Group, or maybe Mars or DNA...

I'm a bit of a musical grognard. I know there are other bands that have covered Rush songs recently, but I haven't heard any of them. I'll see if I can find the MSI version, give it a listen, and report back.

Liberty's Edge

Here's another good one that seems to play in my head a lot:

"The Mob Rules" by Black Sabbath <- this alternate version (from the Heavy Metal soundtrack) is tres heavier than the original. Ronnie James Dio is a friggin' genius.

Here's the MSI version.

Personally, I like Rush's version better, although I'm a fan of both bands.

I love that song! In that entire movie, I rank it tied with "Sword of Damocles" and "Hot Patootie" (Meatloaf fan...) at the top of the soundtrack! But Time Warp gets way more Air time on the radios. I heard it just the other day in fact. still awesome!
