Luthier's Rapier--cost?

One page 25 of the Second Darkness Companion, Luthier's Rapier is listed at a price of 5,020 gp. It is a +1 holy rapier that 1/day can grant a +4 sacred bonus to charisma and +4 morale bonus on saving throws vs fear, each lasts for 10 min.

Why is this so inexpensive? Is it a typo? Is it because if you use its other power it becomes a +1 rapier?

By my reckoning it should be 21,520 gp.

It's a typo. I suspect that there's a "2" missing from the start, and that it should be 25,020 gp. Or thereabouts. I'd actually suggest just rounding it to 25,000 or going with the previous poster's number though, since 20 gp is a weird amount.

Not weird at all, since a rapier is - wait for it! - 20 gp. (Then you add all the calculations for masterwork and the abilities.)

Maybe adding the masterwork cost on on top of the 25,020 would be better, so it's 25,320 and a nice easy number for determining creation cost (12,500 gp and 1,000 XP). That seems to be the general guideline, where the "magical" component costs an even thousand number, with a 300 and some gp addition for the mundane component.

I Respect James Jacobs input on this. But I now have a few players that are arguing with me on this. Some even go as far to say "He's only the creative Director, Now if Mark or Mike say anything we'll listen" and that irks me. I've told them to respect the ruling but they Ignore me and continue to buy and use the weapon at the Incorrect Price. This is for PFS play btw. I HATE to ask, as I know what that implies, but is there any chance we can get a Second Opinion on this?

If this is for PFS, you should ask in the PFS forum if you want one of the official guys to see it. I wasn't even aware the Second Darkness Companion was a legal source for PFS.

I think that PFS ultimately went with having it cost 25,020 gp in some future update to Additional Resources.
