Male Half Elf ( want to make something of it !) Ranger 2

When arriving in twon , Juliare will not enter it ( being banned from it) but explains to a guard they have Fell Tarmick prisoner and would like to see the sheriff .

Felicia on the other hand will probably do nothing but brag, Although by the time she is finished she will have blown the story out of all proportion.

On a side note what xp progresion is being used Felicia may have enough xp (over a 1000) to lvl but I'm not sure.

We're on medium progression I'm afraid.

Arriving in town with Fell Tarmick in tow, you create quite a stir at the guard post. After some confusion (and a rather loud argument behind closed doors) you are admitted in. Fell is taken into custody and after a period of waiting Bragger Bondhome, the dwarf captain of the guard, enters.

He scowls at you pensively. "So you have caught yourselves a right ugly fish, I hear. I tell you, you have done this town a favor. Now I know that you are banned from this town for that temple business, but I've served this town as guard captain for these 20 years, and my lads don't arrest anyone unless I say so. I don't much care about politics and I certainly don't hold with selling innocent people as slaves, so in my book you're OK."

"Here's what we are going to do. Here is the 500 gp bounty for Fell that this city owes you. I'm probably in for a whipping for this, but I say that you're welcome in this town as long as my word and 20 years of faithful service counts for anything. But please keep a low profile, or you'll be putting my head on the line as well as your own."

Felicia will wait till the sheriff is out of earshot before asking "Temple business? What temple business?"

Before we leave the guard captain, Clark would like to know the proper action to take with the goods retrieved. If they need to be returned, does he know who the rightful owners would be?

"There was a ... misunderstanding ... at one of the temples here in the city. They were capturing itinerant folk and shipping them off to parts unknown. They felt this practice should continue. Some of our allies felt it should stop. Since Petra and I were some of the "itinerant" folk, you can safely assume that our allies' view prevailed.

"However, the temple apparently had friends in high places. Rather than being heralded as heroes, our friends were labeled undesirable and told to leave the city, never to return. The truth of what they had done was known to too many people to just arrest them for it, I imagine, so the best they could do was run us out of town.

"Of course, I'm not a politically-minded man, so I might be misunderstanding what really happened. This is just what I understand from listening to the others."

Felicia nods intently Whilst simultaneously writing down all that Clark has said in her notepad. "You should have told me about all this sooner" She exclaims once he has finished "'Give me all the details and I'll turn them into a tale of such heroics and bravery that the people will make you heroes of the city. I would like to see some stuffy stuck up bureaucrat try and have you all kicked out then."

"Oh, ah, um. Juliare may be the only one left that could tell you the specifics leading up to the whole scenario at the temple. Petra and I were inside and they rescued me with the others... The wizard and dwarf joined up there, too... I'm not sure anyone else from the original heroes is still traveling with us, actually."

" Felicia , getting Fell was sufficient . The sheriff is now on our side . I don't intend to embarass him by having incensed luminaries of this town put pressure on him . What's more , celibrity is NOT a good thing for me . It's the best way to have your putative targets make preventive strikes against you! Let's keep these sort of things for aventurers and never-do-well , the people who don't respect the LAW. "

Male Human (mostly) Ex-cleric and Grumpy Cat

...and that officially concludes your adventure. Thanks to all for playing, and I look forward to seeing some of your characters continue.

...however, there is a small side-quest for those of you who are up for it. It may take a while to get to a place where I can get Felicia (and possibly Petra into the dungeon, so you're welcome to join.

I just want to wait for my book. On Thursday yours truly and Zark are going to lay siege to our FLGS, and failing that try to download the pdf. Watch for the next episode after conversions.

It all started when our heroes went to return the stolen kegs of ale...

"sorry , guess it's just a job for me ..."

OK, wrapping up so everyone has what they should have as they move on to the new game (or not)...

Including the reward, the take on the Green Tree Bandits looks like this, summarized:

  • 225 gp in jewelry
  • 533 gp in cash
  • 120 gp in goods (the wine)
  • 1535 gp in weapons
  • 100 gp in tools (masterwork lyre)
  • 950 gp in potions
for a total of 3463 gp or 577+ per party member. Accounting for half-price resale, the share comes closer to 334 gp each.

I've heard interest in the bow and some of the jewelry. Clark, for one, isn't terribly interested in any of the items except for resale, which would of course be for half.

We have four characters that cannot cast provide healing and four CLW potions, so I propose they get those potions. (Resale 25 gp each)

We have four significant weapons, either masterwork swords or the mighty bow. (Resale roughly 150 gp each)

Divvying up cash, goods, and jewelry evenly is roughly 146 gp each.

The big item not mentioned yet is the 750 gp potion (375 resale) that would be someone's whole share unless we sell it.

Any thoughts one way or another? Want more detail? Or just to sell it all and take the shares in cash?

Petra just want cash. She thinks we should give the ex-bandid a good start so he stays an ex-bandit. How much shall we give him?

    Female Halfling Swashbuckler 6

Felicia would be okay with him just getting half of her share (since she didn't really show up till about half way through)

Male Half Elf ( want to make something of it !) Ranger 2

I'm always surprised when people want to divide loot equally at the end of an adventure. I am more used to items going to the one who will be more useful to the group in the next adventure. Juliare will certainly insist that we finish with the next part of the adventure before each one goes his way and to wait until then to divide the loot. Till then each should carry the items which are more useful to them "

No need - you're in, so you're in!

Yeah, I hear you there. But since are looking at a very real ending to the story, I figured this might be time to settle accounts.

That said, I would definitely rather put the items that people can use in their hands. I hate selling good stuff. You indicated an interest in the bow. Is anyone else interested in any of the weapons? I think the masterwork shortsword might be good for the dwarven rogue, but he's not here to yea or nay.

Petra has no problem giving Juliare the bow.

Petra has an interest in one or two CLW potion.

What is the 750 gp potion (375 resale)?
I want to get Petra ready to the other game so I hope we can settle accounts as soon as possible.

I figured there are four CLW potions and four characters that cannot provide healing on their own, so it made sense to divvy the healing to those four - Clark and Petra would not benefit.

The high-dollar potion was a Potion of Cat's Grace. Perhaps you could take it and trade it for a Potion of Cure Moderate Wounds, if the cleric at the temple were willing. DM's call, of course. That would be your entire take from the loot, however.

I will propose a split sometime later today and let people vote on it. The more vocal people will probably get what they want -- so poor Thrakir will get all the unwanted material, at this rate.

Potion of Cat's Grace - no.

GP or GP + 1 potion of CLW.
She will do what the party wants.

I think I said this already, but Kirwen wants the jewelry and that's pretty much it.

I'm pretty sure a potion of cat's grace is only 300 gp, though (resale 150).

    Juliare just want the bow

So If Petra picks 2 CLW potions how much cash would she get?

Patience, patience. RL kept me off the boards all day.

    Here's my proposal:

The bandit is sent on his way with items to sell amounting to 146 gp, 3 sp (unless he can negotiate better, of course)

Thrakhir similarly receives items to sell and a share of the reward money worth 275 gp, and a CLW potion.

Juliare receives the bow and 150 gp from reward money and proceeds from selling of extra equipment.

Kirwyn receives 225 gp worth of jewelry and 75 gp from the reward money.

Petra receives two CLW potions and 250 gp reward money and proceeds from selling of extra equipment.

Felicia receives the masterwork lyre, potion of cat's grace (you were correct, I had the price wrong), a potion of CLW, and 75 gp from the reward money.

Clark receives the masterwork short sword and 145 gp from reward money and proceeds from selling of extra equipment.

Is that acceptable to everyone? 300 gp per member, 146 and change for the bandit's half share.

Your proposal sounds great. But what does "proceeds from selling of extra equipment mean"? Is it one sixth of 146 gp?

So if I gotthis right Petra will get two potions + 250 gp + one sixth of 146 gp?

Close. The 146 refers to the bandit's "half-share" as an NPC.

Petra would get what I listed for Petra:

    Clark Freeman wrote:

Perhaps my grammar was off. It's 250 gp consisting of Petra's share of the reward money and her share of the money received for items that we sold (masterwork rapier, heavy crossbow, light crossbow, etc. -- stuff no one indicated an interest in)

I was trying to get an answer on the boards quickly and didn't want to spend an hour formatting it nicely -- it was already way past this paladin's bedtime. ;-)

    I hope this is clearer.

    Excellent.

If this is acceptable to everyone, I will let Felicia know what she's gained. I don't know if her player is monitoring this thread anymore.

    My pleasure.

Since Juliare is the only one to have said anything and she's got all she requested, I'm going to assume that the list passes muster and consider it official. I'll let Juliare's player know as well as Felicia's and I'll put the goodies on Clark's page in case he gets to come back someday.

I think we can consider this thread to be done, folks!

Ah, d***! I KNEW THAT!! I specifically made a point on a previous post of getting the pronoun right, but I knew a girl with a very similar name and keep slipping. My sincere apologies -- even though you jest. I do try to get things like that right.
