Great, now I have a lot more reading to do too! :)
There's a lot more crossover between these games than I thought at first.
I'm in:
Ayedah in TerraNova's Curse of the Crimson Throne game - A Shoanti barbarian fresh from the Storval Plateau who came to the city to find some of her childhood friends and wound up in Zalen's "band of misfits". She wasn't ready for city life at all.
Kaliciel in This Game - Drama queen. :)
Tenna Milcress in Hopeless' Legends are Made, Not Born game - Peasant just-turned-ranger who took a job along with Khal's Bogorin and others to help care for her family. It started as a simple job at least. We've finally found the people we were trying to rescue but there's a lot more going on than we thought at first.
Zindit Tamelathi in Rimrock's Second Darkness - Oh boy. Gnome rogue insane asylum escapee who accidentally got her brother and guardian killed, wound up horrifically burned and scarred, is hiding out in Riddleport, and is convinced Sarenrae is out to get her. She somehow managed to hook up with a group of folks including TerraNova's character, a Calistrian prostitute-turned-paladin of Sarenrae. :)
Kora Oaks in DB3's All-Hallow's Eve game - Half-orc rogue who had a lot of her daring scared out of her during her first trip with an adventuring company. Spooky stuff is going on. It's set in Sandpoint of all places!
Vivaeri Firdraes in Robin's Taldoran Campaign - Half-elf jester/bard. Reluctant bride-to-be doesn't even begin to cover it. She's given Wellard's Ewald way too much grief already, and it looks like it's only going to get more complicated now that everyones' tempers are cooling down. Especially since Vivaeri's twin sister Halsanna might maybe kinda sorta like Ewald... And yeah, no combat at all. It's at the point that if a real fight broke out it would be probably be a horrifying experience for a couple of characters. When the game started five of the PCs were linked by blood.
Ikethru in Malvoisin's Legacy of Fire - Osiriani human. Former slave and member of a demonic cult, currently a priestess of Sarenrae. Has a guilt complex as big as Zindit's but without the benefit of being crazy enough to avoid dealing with it. This one had a lot of family related characters too, two siblings by blood and another "adoptive" with them.
Paera in Wrath's Fall of Nations - Half-elf Varisian rogue. This one has been a fast-paced roller-coaster so far. Khal's Bo-Dan is literally the only character she trusts absolutely so far. There's a constant sense of danger going on, especially with all of us and a bunch of refugees stuck on a boat together.
Neevan in Nightwish's Red Hand/Pathfinder - Vudrani slave/monk who has been sent to this apparently haunted mansion crawling with hobgolbins to find her new owner. I've just now started really as an added character to bolster the player numbers, and three more players joined at once right after. The battle that's going on has been pretty chaotic and we still haven't had a chance to catch our breath and find out exactly who each other is.

-Gal, another Wild Druid, this one big, mean and even more savage in another home-brew 'Scarred Lands'
Ooh, I came this close to leaping into the game with both feet, being a huge fan of the Scarred Lands setting. One of the longest lasting D&D games I ran was set in Hollowfaust.
Someday I should find a Legacy of Fire game as well. I kind of accidentally ended up in two different Second Darkness games (one seemed like it was gonna die, but it's back now, so I'm in the surreal position of going through similar scenarios with *wildly* different characters, which is actually kinda cool, in a Through a Mirror, Darkly, sorta way...).

I don't know how all of you can handle so many games. I was in six at one time but had to drop out of three of them.
In addition to this game I play Kenny Eastman, journalist, compulsive gambler, coward, conspiracy theorist and probably soon-to-be dead body in a Call of Cthulhu game run by Wicht. He is very descriptive and conveys the horrible nature of the setting quite well.
In Wellard's Wilderlands game I play a viking-type nordic warrior who is now landbound and very confused about the world he lives in. He also finds his companions to be confusing. In order to alleviate stress and uncertainty he dismembers things with his axe. He is a bit frustrated right now because it seems that Wellard is determined to kill us with poison gas traps.
For the most part I post when my wife is doing work on her dissertaion. Do most of you post from work?

Ooh, I'm in this game with Val! I play a halfling slave girl...she's troubled and um...yeah. Troubled. There's been some amazing interaction in it though - this was the game that I got all giddy about when I realized I was going to be playing with Val since I'd been following your guys' game here for so long and enjoying it so much - it felt like I was playing with a famous...um...player. Or celebrity. Made me get butterflies all over inside.
Other than that I just started a Second Darkness game playing a halfling monk sailor (what can I say, I like halflings!). I also DM a campaign starting with Hollow's Last Hope on another website (rpol.net).
...I hope you guys don't mind me lurking and posting occasionally in your thread. I feel kinda awkward doing so sometimes...but I haven't been kicked out yet either. It's like this is where all the cool kids hang out...

Hey, btw, any room in the Second Darkness game your in Count? Or that Legacy of Fire game, Val Wellard and you are in? I haven't checked the Recruitment threads on Paizo for a long time as I figured I was pretty much at my limit...but I'm sure I could always squeeze One More game in... ;-)
It nice to play with Players you already know are Good... : )

I don't blame you for not mentioning the game you're in with me. It's not really getting off the ground. ;p
As far as I'm concernec you're welcome here, Count!

Let's not bring the alignment argument into this.
therealthom |
If I was basing my game choices on the alignment of my fellow Players Thom, it'd be a different kettle of fish indeed. I mean, is there even a category for Chaotic Joker?
Not sure, but I think the diametrically opposed alignment would be Lawful Darkknight.

Ya, don't invite them! They're No Fun at parties At All.

Man...you should've asked 2 days ago - we had a few vacancies that were just filled in the Legacy of Fire game with Val. Too bad too...I would've loved for you to be able to get in on it - the amount of role-playing and characterization in that one is amazing.

Yeah, I'm not really sure what's going on with that. The idea of a huge everything-goes arena battle drew me in, and then by the time it actually started we ended up with 2 games running the same thread with 3 players each. Really weird...and not quite what I expected. That and one of the 3 players in my group has been AWOL since day one, leaving the other 2 of us standing around and shivering while discussing how cold it is.
Anyways, thanks for the welcomes! I'll continue being your #1 (only?) fan!

Got my dead tree copy on friday morning...it's been a joy to read it
Nice. Cash is a little tight for me right now. I'll get the pdf in September sometime and a real book for Christmas. So if you want Romon converted to PF before that (the pdf), you'll have to let me know what changes to make. Otherwise I'm quite happy to keep him as is.

Don't forget Paizo put out an official Game Reference Document that includes pretty much everything from the rulebook except for the artwork. I already used it to upgrade my PbP characters since I can't afford the PDF either...

My immediate thought about the Goblin potential prisoner is to throw his body down from the tower into the midst of the other Goblins, preferably with something suitably 'horror movie' done to him to get the other Goblins into a panic. (Set him on fire, perhaps.)
Then I remembered that I'm not playing an evil character and that I shouldn't be getting character inspiration from serial killers. :)

You have been walking the shady side of neutral though. Marak has been a very convenient crutch for Romon, finishing off negative opponents and all.
note to self: must work a little self-righteous moral superiority into the Marak/Romon relationship.
Does anyone else find the three words "note to self" to be really funny in and of themselves? I can't even remember the TV or movie reference, but it just makes me chuckle.
Practically speaking Romon thinks the best plan is interrogate, kill and continue sneaking around. Speaking of interrogation -- I'm glad Muchorak thought of it. Romon is much too nervous in this situation to think of something that smart.

Nethys is the god of destruction as well as magic. And he epitomizes the nature of duality. This is evidenced by the number and variety of sects that worship him. What better way to follow the path of your god than to engage in a bit of wanton behavior. It can be excused as "religious excess".
In all seriousness, Marak does not strike me as the type to do something like turn a goblin into a boody-trap. Besides, goblins in Golarion probably don't scare easily and would look on their flaming fellow with amusement as much as anger.
Now, Romon on the other hand...

True stuff.
Priests of Nethys are a mixed bag. If I'd picked Destruction and Protection, I could see Marak being kind of a 'power tool' sort of guy, all about using magic as a blunt instrument to impose his will upon the world and shape things to his preferences. Since I went with Knowledge and Magic, I should see him more as a scholarly occult sort, but I've been playing him more as the power tool sort of guy.
Some characters play the same way I saw them in my head, others continually go off-script and do things their own way, forcing me to play catch up...

Yeah, but we cleared the roof and the plan is to kick in the door next. At least that seems to be Shalelu's plan. I think we should probably see if there are any guards on the main gate first and secure a line of egress.
Oh, I know, I was just commenting on the verbage. "It's a killing zone! Let's go in!"
Khaladon |
lol I had thought of that. But as Ali will still be talking while in wolf form (hopefully. It makes sense after all though as the horse is 'talking' while in horse form) and as she will still smell like Ali and not like a wolf, I decided to take the chance that it will all be OK.
If the horse does react badly, it still has to actually hit Ali and with her Barkskin she has a pretty good AC in wolf form and she can immediately change back to Ali form if she needs to and between Big Bear and her I'm sure we could get it calmed back down again. I also thought, if there was going to be a bad reaction, better to get it out of the way now, as opposed to later on when it could be a worse situation or someone could be actually riding him.
Ali and I do appreciate the concern though. : )
Khaladon |
Hey I just now realized that I should have had Ali cast Barkskin on two of her friends as well, probably Muchorak and Inikai. Sorry guys, sometimes I forget that Ali is also a caster. You are all more than welcome to remind me should it be necessary in the future -_-

Since Romon wasn't on the list it's OK. =()
It works better in-game if she doesn't. At least not after we enter taxidermy hall.

Also, I would love to read some criticism, especially negative critcism, so that I can see what needs improvement.
And if you have any thoughts about Valac's as a useful vestige for a game please have at it. I don't plan to use him in this game because the WoTC thread for critiquing vestiges seems to be dead.
