No worries. I'm not in a big rush. I just started running a 5th pbp, so I've got plenty to keep me busy.
P.H. Dungeon wrote:-a lot of awesome backstory-Nice! It may take a few days, but soon I'll post up an exact reason for you to meet up with the other PCs once they're a little closer. At the current rate of advancement, I can see it being a week to a week and a half until you can actually join in, but I hope to post recent background for you well before then.

Iziak, in case it factors into the progression of the story, I guess without a spellcaster, my next rogue talent will be minor magic (either Read Magic or Detect Magic), and I'll be boosting UMD each level, so eventually we'll have at least a bit of arcane punch.

Go right ahead. Don't feel like you have to take UMD and Minor Magic, though... as I said I'll balance the adventures to the characters.

Also, you don't need to worry about rent and upkeep costs... it would be such a small amount in comparison to all of the treasure you get that it wouldn't amount to much of anything.

If you all think that it's a good idea, I'm planning to start having Knowledge check results posted in this thread when I think that they're appropriate, so that players who know a lot about the Pathfinder Chronicles Campaign Setting can more easily separate player knowledge from character knowledge and so that players new to the world can gain important information.
I'll put all information from lower DCs into the higher DCs, so you'll only need to look at the highest DC that you meet to see all of the information.
Note that I don't have the "Trained Only" rule on Knowledge checks... any character, trained or not, can learn information of DCs higher than 10. If any of you have suggestions on how I could better format or implement this, please let me know.
Common Knowledge
The Hellknight Order of the Nail is an autonomous legion of law-bringers seeking to enforce its own harsh vision of order upon Varisia, meting out law with blade and iron-shod boot. Unconcerned with petty trivialities of morality, Hellknights are fanatics of law, adhering only to their harsh, Chelish vision of order and their own unyielding vision of honor. To this end-as is common among Hellknight orders-the black-robed signifiers of the nail often call upon the aid of extraplanar embodiments of law, particularly the fierce, cold will of Hell's legions that best embodies their philosophy. The Hellknights do not have to follow the commands of Korvosa's monarch, but they don't tend come into conflict with the nobility and the Korvosan Guard and often assist them as long as doing so doesn't conflict with the Hellknight's strange code. The order is currently commanded by Lictor Severs "Boneclaw" DiVri, with Mistress of Blades Maidrayne Vox presiding over its martial forces. Hellknight image.
Finally, the Sable Company is made up of hippogriff-mounted marines. First by tradition, and later by an addendum to the city's charter, the Sable Company does not answer to the leader of Korvosa, regardless of the leader's title. Instead, the commandment of the Sable Company reports directly to the Seneshcal of Castle Korvosa who, as also decreed by charter amendment, cannot have less than three generations of seperation between common ancestors with the city's leader. With each new leader, the commandmant pledges the company's loyalty-usually within a few days, but in the past this has taken up to a year and, once, it did not happen at all. Commandment Marcus Thalassinus Endrin leads his hippogriff-mounted marines in defense of the skies and waters of Korvosa.

If the Otyug was threatening innocent civilians she might try to find away to help them. If it was just destroying property and rampaging down the street, she'd probably run and try to get some allies together to help her fight it or try to get in a position where she could fight it without risking herself too much. She wouldn't just charge the thing and try to take in single combat, unless she was thought it would save small children or something similar to that.

Hi Iziak,
I am going camping thurs-sunday of this week. Can you take over Algret until I get back? I also just realized that her money did not "save" for what ever reason and that I forgot to level up in skill ranks. I will update skills before I leave and re-calc cash when I get back

Hi Everyone,
Sorry for the disappearing act. I went camping and came home to massive problems (budget yanked on a conference I was hosting on nov 8th, my job being eliminated in a re-org, applying for new job in the re-org, lending agency for my student loan closing, hot water heater flooding my basement, blah, blah, blah...). Long story short: I apparently need to re-focus for a bit.
I thank you for the opportunity to play and apologize if i am leaving you in a lurch.
Skazz, Li and Izaik: you are brilliant gamers
Thanks
Mark
PS: Feel free to use Algret if you need to. She has the potential to be an excellent healer for the group.
