GEAUX TIGERS!!!!

Scarab Sages RPG Superstar 2013

As an OU fan, I was ready for some football. Then our middle linebackers suffered half a dozen injuries and the death of an All-American. Also, our starting HB and NFL-bound WR went down for the season. THen the other receivers, who were GREAT in single coverage, forgot how to catch the ball. THen Landry Jones stopped palying like Peyton Manning and took more after ELi.

So, after the worst Bedlam game I can remember, I am still ready for some football, but don't see it happening til next year.

On the upside, if the o-line is rested, tomorrow the Steelers might show me some football. After last week, they better.

Lions have backed themselves into a corner by loosing some games that they shouldn't have; not thier in a pickle for wildcard slot that is not very likely. Still, must say I have enjoyed the season so far.

Scarab Sages

Let's see some LSU/OSU action for the BCS!!!

Scarab Sages RPG Superstar 2013

I think it's been a good season to be a Lions fan. Hope is better than no hope.

And I don't see the NCG happening for OSU, but then I ahven't checked to see if they got their required minimum 25% of 2nd place votes, or how the computers view the game last night. They could edge out Alabama, but I think their headed to the Fiesta Bowl.

Wish OU had been more prepared for their three losses, and that the injuries (maybe the worst I've ever seen for a team, to be honest) hadn't mounted up when and where they did. But I guess if you're pissed about a 9-3 season, you're living in tall cotton.

I'm one of those rare guys that can say 'Boomer Sooner' AND 'Go Cowboys'.

Liberty's Edge

Steven, not really. Quite a few people in Dallas have Okie roots.

;-)

Unless you mean Ok. St.

Then you're just weird ;-)

The BCS computer data hasn't been released yet; the CBS prediction of the data is that the computers will rank Oklahoma State just barely over Alabama, but who knows for sure? Nobody until 8:15 PM ET.

Coaches' poll is out, with Alabama #2, Oklahoma State #3. Harris poll isn't out, but I'd expect it to reflect the AP and put Alabama #2.

When Alabama beats LSU and Oklahoma State crushes their Fiesta Bowl opponent, we can have a nice big controversy.

Fixed that for you.

Liberty's Edge

Cam Newton just broke the record for rushing touchdowns by a quarterback in a single season.

And we are winning...by a lot....

Weird.

The Broncos won again! I'm confused, but tickled!;)

Scarab Sages

So, BCS championship is LSU vs Bama, part II. Weird. Back when the first played, I was telling people that game may as well have been the National Championship. Looks like I was correct.

Is it too much to hope for a 49ers/Steelers Super Bowl this year? Yeah, I know the Ravens have beaten the Steelers twice this season, but in a year when the Lions have a winning season and the Bengals are #1 in their division, anything is possible.

Maybe this is a 'duh' question, but are you a Steelers fan!? I was incredibly disappointed when the Steelers gave up the game last Superbowl. Anyway, there's always next season. Also, if you're still in the Lakenheath area and know of any gaming groups (Pathfinder or D&D) open to a new member, I'd love to chat. (I always bring food to game night!) 13-0!! Now do they go for 16-0 or rest the starters after next week is the question.

Scarab Sages

Tough call. I'd almost say rest 'em, but then you'd have people b*&+@ing about not respecting their opponents.

Liberty's Edge

If they make the Super Bowl, I'll pull for the Saints for John Kasay's sake. The Panthers should have kept him.

Scarab Sages

Go Saints!!! Congrats to Drew Brees! Single season passing record!!! On their way to the Super Bowl!!!

Liberty's Edge

Also a hearty thanks to Brees for winning me my money fantasy league this year. A far more important feat than a mere real life record.

Dark Archive

Looking forward to seeing who the Patriots are playing next weekend.

Scarab Sages

I'm looking forward to seeing who the Saints get to beat the s+!@ out of in the Superbowl. ;)

You think the Saints can win in Green Bay Aberzombie?

Absolutely. They came close in that season opener, and the Saints have vastly improved since then. Big factor will be weather, but bad weather doesn't exactly mean a bad game for the Saints. If the passing games get grounded, it could give the Saints an edge.

Either way, it'd be a great game.

My big concern is the AFC. I think the Ravens will win out there, and that could spell trouble for any NFC team.

Dark Archive

Nobody gives the Lions a chance eh? That's OK, they can be be the underdogs. Sort of like Seattle last year ...

Scarab Sages

Actually, I think the Lions have a shot. They've played some great ball this year. But the Saints are on fire right now, and this is a Dome game....

GO TEBOW!!! WUP THEM STEELERS!!!!

Liberty's Edge

Go Steelers! Make my TV not annoying again!

And, um, go Texans!

I think you're asking for quite a bit there.

Liberty's Edge

Yeah, TV is annoying anyway, even without 24/7 Cult of Tebow on ESPN...

Scarab Sages

Damnit! Now you just know someone's going to come up with a Cultist of Tebow alias.

Scarab Sages

Woot!!! Go Saints!!!

Dark Archive

If only we didn't have to play the second half ...

Scarab Sages

They still played an impressive game. And that Stafford is damn good. I expect the Lions to be dangerous again next year.

Scarab Sages

Congrats to the Giants and the Broncos.

And MAD props to Roethlisberger and the MIGHTY MIGHTY STEELERS!!! They're real warriors.

Ogay; now my sick ass is going back to bed.

What do LSU and the Moon have in common?

They both control the tide!

GEAUX TIGERS!!!

316 passing yards. Revelation 3:16.

Coincidence?

Scarab Sages

There is no coincidence, only Zuul.

I think the hata's give Tebow energy. Keep on hatin, hata's!!!

Scarab Sages

Meh, my hate for Tebow has cooled since he's been pissing off other people.

But I reserve the right to occasionally mock him.

We need it right now, to get past them Pat's.

Scarab Sages

I think they can take 'em

They need to fix their holes that allowed 90+ points over two games, but yeah, I'm already looking forward to next season.

For now, I'll throw my support to whoever wins the Saints/49ers next week. They're the only ones I think can take the (much hated and despised) Packers out. I'm rooting for the Giants, but I don't think they'll do it.

Scarab Sages

Giants may surprise people. They've got a decent defense, and cold weather shouldn't be as much of a factor. If Eli has a good game, they might actually knock Green Bay out, which would be just fine by me.

I actually hope this comes to pass. Mostly just because I dislike the Cheate....I mean the Patriots.

Scarab Sages

Congrats to Bama on a well played game.

Not sure what the hell Les Miles and the Tigers were doing on offense, but at least the LSU defense tried to win the game.

Snoozefest. Would have been nice to have a +1 format so we could see what a team with an offense might have done. Alabama certainly did play good defense, but I wouldn't say it was done against a challenging offense.

Also, a good argument against all the turkeys who obsess over single games that it's not that simple when two good teams play. Apparently in similar repeats, it's about 75% in favor of the split vs. the same team winning twice.

Scarab Sages

But that's just it, with the exception of quarterback, LSU does have a decent offense. Hell, they put up lots of points and yardage all season long. However, when your starting quarterback isn't getting anywhere by practically running the option over and over again, you need to either change up your scheme, switch quarterbacks, or both.

And therein lies the problem. The LSU offense wasn't even trying, and didn't do anything to change what was going wrong. Granted, Bama's defense is incredible, but it's still the same guys they put up yardage and points against in November.

I agree, however, that a +1 system, or really any kind of playoff, is needed. It's something the SEC and ACC have both proposed, but has been shot down by others.

Why all the Packer hate? ;) Are you trying to upset the CEO and the lead designer?

looks around for FHDM

Scarab Sages

On the contrary, if the Packers get knocked out, and the Saints win over the 49ers, then the NFC Chanpionship game would be played in New Orleans. Home field advantage.

And unlike LSU, the Saints offense would very much show up.
