Find a Pathfinder Society in Your Area

Local Play

Scarab Sages

Looking at all the local PFSOP threads on here, I had an idea.

Until we get something available to more clearly advertise local events, I thought maybe we could create a google map and point out our information there?

I know people do the "whole where are you located" thing, so I guess it would be similar to that.

If you're organizing a Pathfinder Society in your area, or know of one, simply add it to the map with any play information you can provide, as well as a way to contact someone. (If this is a home game, I do NOT advise putting home address or phone information. Perhaps a common email address, or one created specifically for this purpose.)

I was thinking mostly of using it for US players, but it could definitely be used for international players as well.

Here is the link: Pathfinder Society Google Map

It is editable by anyone.

I hope this helps people find their way into a local game. Good luck!

How do you edit the map? I am so tech impaired.

Excellent, another Columbus native. Soon we can take over the board and rule with our iron Cowtown fists!

Hopefully I can get something together at a local store. My schedule is all wacky until I am get a clearer idea on what my class schedule will look this quarter.

Click the Edit button. This will put a series of blue icons on the top left of the map. Click the push-pin, place it where you'd like, then type in a description.

Still struggling...Does one have to have a Google account to modify the map?

Yes, it looks like you need an account. Its only your email and a password and then you are done. Then you can click edit on the left side of the page to add your area!

Thanks. I use Gmail anyway, so I didn't realize anyone needed to register.

This still isn't working for me. I log on with my gmail account and I don't see anything on the map.

Does this work with FireFox?

Boy, call me dense. Somehow I missed that Teresake had already replied to an earlier thread I had started here and that I had already explained my situation.

So, yes, still up in the air. And "yay!" to the Columbus native thing. Finally, "fantastic!" to the whole Google map idea. It was inspired.

Don't mind me, I think I need a nap. One that lasts about a year or so.

Scarab Sages

wow. it's been a great day, watching this go from one mark on a map to...more then one mark. were i at home now and able to run games, i'd put mine up there. you'll all just have to wait for january. it's gonna be my own little blue arrow. just offside montreal. maybe even have my name on it.

Great idea! Already added another mark!

By the way... sorry I messed up the name... could someone with more experience on the map change the name back to its original?

Again sorry!

Excellent idea! I hope this helps me find some gamers!

EDIT: Also, nice avatar Hugo!

I only use Firefox, so I can safely say it works with it. I'm not a technical expert, so unfortunately, aside from setting it up, I'm not much use.

I fixed the title.

Those fixing to add to the map....don't change the title or description on the left hand side. That is for the WHOLE map, not just your place. :)

Scarab Sages

I've noticed something: it doesn't help if you just put down "placemark ##" a little more information, like a location or contact number or e-mail is needed as well.

Heh, frankly said I was starting to get a little annoyed with the thousands "PFS in <random village in a random state>" threads.

Hey -- I just noticed that "Edible" is no longer hosting a Pathfinder Society game on top of a mountain in Jasper National Park. Too bad; the view would've been great!

Guess who didn't spot that note... Please post the description here so anyone who messes up can just CnP it back to normal. I edited it to something bland but appropriate.

Added a pin for the Orlando, FL area.

People need to put in some kind of contact info with the Pins. Otherwise we cannot get into contact.

Awesome idea and cool map. We need this to go on the wiki too.

That, my friend, is an excellent idea.

Just added Denver....

Hi all,

I just added another pin to Houston, TX. Unlike the previous pin left by an unknown individual, mine actually has contact information!

I just added the FLGS I manage to the map. We're the only place in VA so far.

We plan to have a calendar of events before the end of season 0 that should serve some of these needs.

I'm seriously interested in running (or playing) a PFS game. It'll have to be a home game if I run it though. I'm here in eastern Utah and the nearest 'game shop' is about 30 minutes away. (It's more of a hobby shop that happens to have a few gaming items.)
The only problem is convincing the folks I play with to give this a go. Is there anybody in this state running Pathfinder? I ask, as there may well be, but perhaps they've not marked the maps yet. Furthermore is there anybody in eastern Utah who'd be interested in playing?
I've just come back to the boards after about a three month hiatus, so there's a lot of stuff that I haven't caught up on yet.

Thanks.

Another Houstonian added. OT: On March 29 at Asgard Games we will be holding a Pathfinder Society Game Day. Check the store out at AsgardGames.net. It is run by some nice guys. I am not affiliated with the store in any way.

Just my 2 cp.

EDIT: I made a mistake on the web address. It is corrected now.

Sovereign Court 4/5

To make it easier to advertise, I made a tinyurl address to the map, http://tinyurl.com/pfsworldmap

Hope that helps some. I for one would like to see as many PFS players there as possible. Seeing just about 60 out of thousands of players isn't all that satisfying. :)
