This seems like the place, so now it's my call to PFS members in the E/NE IL area...Toilet, er Joliet; Orland; Frankfort; even CHI if that's what it will come to. Have 2 GM's willing to share duty, but we'd like to progress our own characters as well.

Darn . . . I saw Illinois and was hoping you'd be closer to Champaign.

I'm in the Chicago suburbs, and am definately looking for PFS games up here - I'm assuming that the awesome game store Games Plus in Mount Prospect, IL will probably get involved with PFS, but that's on the north side, so probably a bit far for players from down state.

It seems we'll need to find some halfway point for each of us...even if we just do one per month due to the overwhelming cost of petrol.

Please include whether or not you can take on the DM's privilege/burden so that we can get a rotation that lets everyone advance. Vellic Of Talstone is in, he said so yesterday; his brother is a potential player/GM, but he may yet prove moody. Since we're looking at 4-6 players per table, we may be on to something already.

If its only once a month, and its not on a weekend that I have my daughter, and my wife doesn't kill me, I may be able to do something if we can figure out a location, but I can't promise too much until we have more details worked out.

However, the good news is that if I can show up, I'm more than happy to GM all the freaking time. I like to run games, so that's not a problem.

So far, game night has been on Tuesday nights, over the coming months, starting this week, I will be able to add Monday nights, as well. I work noon-midnight Saturdays and spend Sundays with my wife; since it's our only day together, while school is in session, weekends have just become impossible.

Unfortunately it would probably be a long trip, especially for how early I go to work in the morning, so I'm probably out of the running here. Still, I'll keep an eye on this just in case I can swing something sometime.

Just an FYI for all of you, I plan on runnig the Gencon events at a local convention in Springfield Oct. 10-12. The con is called I-Con at Lincoln Land Community College

Yeah, I was hoping for closer to St. Louis. :)

I'll keep my eye out for more info on this one... I'm planning on running scenarios locally, as well, but I'm looking for opportunities to be a player, too.

It is not that far about 90 min from St.Louis

Understood- I meant the regular games. :)

90 minutes isn't far at all- I'll check out the con, especially if there are Pathfinder games being run there.

In addition I'm coordinating Pathfinder at Archon the week before I-Con in Collinsville, just across the river from St. Louis. We can always use an extra player or GM, and we'd love to have you!

I wanna play too I think. I know Joelf, and he rocks as a DM, his GM skills are match only by his cunning achievements as a role player. No, Seriously. However, I drive to the North side of Chitown form elgin can play in the 90 Corridor?

I'd also be interested in a regular Pathfinder game in the St Louis area. I can't do every week, but maybe every-other week?

My off weeks from my regular campaign I plan on running PFS events at my FLGS in Champaign, but once we know for sure how to register and report events, and if you guys still need a GM and I'm free, I would love to keep running these events for interested players.

I'm on the South Side of Chicago and interested in playing...I'm also happy to rotate DMing as well.

I expect that Brad Ruby will be scheduling Pathfinder for his COWS campaigns (particularly Stuffed COWS over Thanksgiving). However, I'd like to get into other gaming, too. Even if I have to leave the city (sigh). :)

It seems like many of us could start a "only one in a town of <1000" club. Bloody millions of acres of corn and beans.

I am definitely interested. My gaming group is going to be playing shadow run soon which will leave me DnD-less. I plan to run a ST campaign on the side but don't know if its going to get off the ground. I'm pretty sure that two others from my group would want to play a Society event. Also, i am interested in DMing as well.

Oozi, where in IL are you from?

Charleston. About 40 minutes south of Champaign, 30 minutes north of effingham.

Pathfinder Society Event--Silent Tide Sep 11 2008 - 7:00pm

Armored Gopher Games, Champaign Illinois

Armored Gopher Games Calendar

I will be running a Pathfinder Society Organized Play event the evening of September 11th, running the scenario Silent Tide. If you have not participated in this scenario, please feel free to bring your Pathfinder Society character to play through this adventure.

This is an entry level event (there shouldn't be any PFS characters higher than 2nd level at this point anyway). I have six slots open for this event. Please post to the calendar above if you are interested, but if you are not sure, please do not post so that the slots can go to people that are sure they will be able to attend.

This event will start at 7 p.m. and should run for 3.5 hours, plus time to do the final paperwork for your character's chronicle. Please have characters ready and have your Pathfinder Society number ready to go.

If you have any questions, I will be at the store before the event, and can help to finish up characters and to answer anything you might need answered to the best of my ability. We will have to start right at the event start time to make everything on time, so please come early if you need any help.

If you need to know where the store is, you can find that information here on their site:

Armored Gopher Games: About Us

I'm really looking forward to this and hope to see you soon.

Myself, and two more are going to start making the trip to your store when you do this. Sadly, only one of us hasn't played Silent Tide, so he'll be by himself this time; same for Hydra's Fang and Frozen Fingers.

Speaking for myself, I'm looking forward to it. Thanks for doing this.

Cheers

That is great news. I'll be getting as many scenarios that come out, so eventually I should be running a few more that you haven't played yet. Also, knowing that, I'll probably jump into Silken Caravan next just to give you guys a shot, although that will be a few weeks after I run Silent Tide.

Champaign's a bit of a drive for me (about 3 hours), but I'd be willing to come up; I've already played Silent Tide and Silken Caravan at GenCon, however. I'm going to be running the two I've played here in St. Louis, but I'm hoping to play the other two before I read/DM them- I'll keep an eye out for when you schedule them.

You can, very nearly, carve it into stone that I will be there. Thursday night, I get off work at 1700; I can jump on 55 and be there at or very near 1900.

Please try to post if you are interested in this event by Tuesday the 9th, so I can let anyone that might be coming into town from a distance that the event is definitely on or off, since I need a minimum of four players.

I'll post if its a go or not on Wednesday, the 10th.

Thanks all.

you can count me in, I'll check back to see if anyone else in my game group wants to come as well

This is pretty cool, I had no idea this store existed KNIGHT. I had been going to Liesure Time to buy Dnd stuff. I plan on checking the place out soon. Looking forward to the event. Although my 1/2 orc barbarian may be a bit of a cliche', multi-classing as a druid I hope will mix it up a little bit. Very much looking forward to playing.

1/5

Yeah, Armored Gopher is great. They don't carry much stock, but they will order anything you want, and the people that hang out at the store are a really great bunch of guys.

2/5

KNIGHTe, I saw where you are starting up a RoTRL campaign starting this thursday. Is that for your group or is it open? Also, how do I formally sign up for the Society game on the eleventh?

1/5

I actually only have three players for the ROTRL campaign, but I have to check in with one of my players about if he has any interest. I could very possibly still have room for another player.

If you reply to this link (Armored Gopher Calendar Reply for September 11th), it is the reply to the calendar that will list you for the event. I should have clarified, but I was trying to explain stuff for brand new people as well and probably just muddied everything up.

Okay, I think I managed to confirm it, my username is TANNER. Im very interested in playing the RotRL campaign....I'd just have to sell it to the old lady. Champaign is so close yet so far in these days of high gas prices.

I completely understand. I get off work at 3:30, and I'd stay in town for the game over the summer when I didn't have to take my daughter home from school because I didn't want to make a 10 mile trip back and forth to Rantoul.

1/5

Hm . . . I'm still not seeing anything on the calendar. Did you make a post and say "hey I'm interested" or something like that? It would look like a regular post once you posted it.

I sat in on Knight's opening to RotRL and it was a lot of fun. Looking forward to Silent Tide this thursday. Hopefully some others on here can stop by as well.

That session was a lot of fun. I'm glad you came to the session, the halfling was a great fit for the party.

Hey Micheal . . . hate to ask by proxy, but is the one person in your group that hasn't played in Silent Tide still interested in the session next Thursday? I just wanted to get a solid count going on who I've got.

1/5

Okay, just to get an idea here . . .

I'm planning on running the Silent Tide this Thursday, and two weeks after that, running Silken Caravan, which some people here have already expressed some interest in.

The next time I can run an event after Silken Caravan on the 25th with be a session for October 23rd. Assuming more scenarios are available at that time, would there still be interest in Hydra's Fang and/or Frozen Fingers, or should I be jumping on anything new to run to make sure everyone that's interested will have a chance to play something new?

1/5

I just posted the event to Armored Gopher's Calendar for the Silken Caravan event on September 25th, so if you are interested, please check it out:

PFS Silken Caravan Event at Armored Gopher Games, September 25th

1/5

Hello all.

Coming up on Tuesday, and I only know for sure that I have one person coming, with a possible second according to the thread. I was hoping to have a few more people post to the calendar thread so I would have a better idea if I had enough to run this.

If you are interested, please post to the link below so I know how many people I have. I have two, maybe three "alternates" to try and make up for a "legal" game, but if you are planning on coming, please post so I know what I'm dealing with.

Thanks all, I'm really looking forward to running this for people, and I hope to see even more for the next event that I posted above set to run in a little over two weeks.

So anyway, if you are planning on coming to Champaign for the September 11th Silent Tide event, please give me a heads up.

Thanks.

He was waiting to see what his work schedule looked like; I'll know tonight, and tell you tomorrow. I told him to make an account with Armored Gopher, as well; but I'm not sure if he has done so yet.
