I Can't Copy Pics from My PDFs Anymore

Help! I can't copy pics from my PDFs anymore. It may be related to the problem that was resolved in this thread, but I don't know. I need to be able to copy pics for my games, so any help will be much appreciated. Thanks!

What reader (or version of acrobat) are you using? If nothing else you can take a screenshot and edit out the text.

I'm using Adobe Reader 9. Could the fact that I recently downloaded it, be the problem? As for editing text out of the screenshot, I need a less time-consuming method.

I use Adobe Reader 8.1.2. I can still mark text and pictures e.g. in the new Pathfinder Campaign Setting file.

Is it just with one particular file that you're having the problem or with all pdfs, including ones you used to be able to copy from?

If with the latter, have you changed any of your Acrobat settings?

There was a relatively recent patch to acrobat (I'm not sure if it patched reader) which shouldn't have changed anything but it might have.

One thing you could try, uninstall your copy of 9 and redownload and install from actobat, then patch it up.

If that doesn't work, uninstall 9 and install 8 then try that.

While my primary experience is in InDesign, I'm pretty familiar with Acrobat so I'll try and help where I can.

Here's some more detail on copy/select problems:

Using current Adobe Acrobat (9.0.0) with patches effective today.

Can copy/select images in: Gamemastery modules (but not LB1)

Cannot copy/select images in: Pathfinder #1-13 and LB1

No problem selecting images using Adobe Actobat version 8 in all files (e.g. can't select the beatie images in PF#13 in Acrobat 9, but I can select/copy them in Acrobat 8).

Any idea on why this is a problem? What version is Paizo using to create their PDFs?

I fixed the problem. I uninstalled Adobe Reader 9 and re-installed Adobe Reader 8.

I was having the problem with ALL my PDFs. I could copy pics from any of them, then suddenly I could NOT copy from any of them. What caused the change? Downloading Adobe Reader 9.
