Indeed, if a little exhausting. I'm not as young as I used to be. XP

The con was a blast. I think we played in that last slot together. You are more than welcome at my Sunday group, but I think we already discussed that and there was a scheduling issue.

Hey dudes, just poking my head up. Still alive, still baby wrangling. The little guy is four and a half months old now, and my thoughts return (as always) to gaming. I'm rolling around the idea of a campaign where several asteroids got near Golarion, with at least one major impact, and one becoming a second moon. Massive tidal waves, volcanic eruptions and the impact itself have changed the face of the planet, burying civilizations and cities, destroying coastlines, raising water levels, etc.
Most of the gods and knowledge of the core assumption have been forgotten, but those daring enough can find ancient treasures and forgotten lore under the earth and the sea.
Does this sound like something anyone would be interested in playing in? I'll be going for a Tales of the Dying Earth feel using Pathfinder mechanics, (although there will be some small changes, especially concerning vision outside at night and adaption thereto.)

I probably won't start up for another few months, but I just wanted to see if people were interested, and say hi. I also might just run adventures out of Tales on the Old Margraeve.

If the players in my Wednesday group can ever all arrive at the same time we will finish Challenge of the Fang and then do The Griffon Hatchling Heist before moving on to the Citadel of Pain.

What, no Kobold Death Maze for unsuspecting 1st level parties? ;)

That sounds awesome -- I'd be all over it! Especially if you get the same group assembled as last time -- those guys were really cool.

@ psychicmachinery,

This is the same group that tried going through that but RL has interrupted our schedule. One player wants to start something in January so the pressure will be off of me. His choices are Shattered Star or the Anniversary RotRL. We'll see in January.

Jerry, this is Jim (I played the wizard in that Kobold Death Maze game.) Did you guys ever find a regular place for gaming?

Yes, we did I'm sorry my Fighter broke the mod. lol The scheduling issue is regrettable since you're on the North side and I'm on the North side and you've got an awesome sounding group, but being Nocturnal means I'm not awake during those daylight hours unless I have to be.

I'm trying to get some more PFS started on the North side, I'm primarily out of Fat Ogre Games & Comics. I have interested players, yet most likely I'll wind up organizing them and getting everyone going. Its just difficult to do when you don't wake up til 1600hrs

My Friday night group is going strong, Skulls & Shackles AP.

I know Sans_Serif is out of Kingwood and has a great group growing there.

Y'all are more than welcome to my table as well!

Is there anyone that might be interested in a Pathfinder game on Friday evening from say 6 pm to 11 pm or there abouts? The location would be at Asgard Games in Houston on 3302 S. Shepherd. I have not decided whether it will be an every week or every other week yet. I want to see how much interest there is.

Hiya, I live on the south side of town, and I was wondering if anyone maybe has a group that has an open slot, or something similar.

South east? Southwest? Just plain south? We're always accepting new players for Society at Gerard's in the southeast, and I hear rumors of something coming together in Pearland. Let us know more about your location and we can help you out.

If you are not too far from the Montrose area we will have a new campaign starting in January. We are losing one player and need to fill that chair. Also, in February 15-17, 2013 is OwlCon at Rice University. There is usually a fairly large amount of Pathfinder being played there along with other games.

South really. I live just outside Pearland near 288 lol.

And yeah Kelly, I know you guys do PFS at Gerard's, but I'm not a huge fan of organized play, campaigns with a set group are more my style.

silverhair, Montrose isn't to far imo, so depending on the timing, that could work =)

As it stands our next GM is planning on running Shattered Star with an Eberron twist. I also have Slumbering Tsar, Rappan Athuk (Pathfinder version), Black Monastery, and the Campaign setting for Midgard with some adventures here and on the way. So we have a plethora of campaigns to pick from. If you don't mind could we meet some time for maybe coffee to see if we mesh with our personalities?

We set up a schedule to meet every other Wednesday and arrange it to skip over holidays. That way Significant others don't get too upset at husbands and girlfriends missing family time. Currently they are finishing up a run through the Old Margreve forest set in Iobaria.

Also, I am trying to gauge interest in starting a Friday evening game at Asgard Games in their private room. So you have 2 options.

Hah, every other Wednesday actually works well with my work schedule depending on the Wednesday, I get every other one off.

A Friday game for me would entirely depend on time, getting to Asgards always involves traffic for me, and I have early evening family things as well.

Coffee sounds like a good idea, always handy to meet folks and get to know them before a game starts. Send me PM if you want, let's see what works out. =)

There is a scheduled "Meet and Greet" for gamers on November 30, 2012 at 7 pm, location is Asgard Games. Their physical address is:

713.677.0699
3302 South Shepherd
Houston, TX 77098

The purpose is to judge interest in a Pathfinder game for Friday evenings, discuss possible campaigns, decide on game days, and discuss possible character creation.

I have scheduled a "Meet and Greet" ay a FLGS for 7 pm this evening. I will see if there is enough interest to start a group playing Pathfinder.

There were 5 very interested players that showed up at Asgard Games. They agreed on playing Legacy of Fire. we will start on Dec 14th at 7 pm at Asgard Games. Anyone else that is interested is welcome to show up. You can contact me at my email on my profile page.

Derek, how's the move working out?

Andostre, I'm settled into a nice cottage in Penn Hills -- big oaks and maple in the front yard, brightly-lit dining room with a long table for gaming, and growlers full of the local brewpub's finest in the 'fridge. Just wish you guys were here to share it with!

Hey...just thought I'd throw my own bit into this thread... I'm in the Houston area, in the NW quadrant up at 290 & 6....and I'm looking to start a Pathfinder game. I've got one gamer so far, so we're ideally looking for I'd say 3-5 more players.

I'm looking to begin the Throne of Night adventure....it looks like a blast!!!

If you're at all interested, contact me fkinkade at gmail dot com...I've been gaming for over thirty years, and love it!

We typically like to play on the weekends...Saturday's or Sundays. Although I'm willing to do an every other week campaign, I find that if you or the group as a whole miss one session, you miss out on ALOT of time between sessions.

Also, I should note, I'm looking for three things in gamers...

1- Mature...doesn't *have* to be adult, I've met some 18 year olds far more mature than a thirty year old. Mainly, if you commit to a game, be there....and if you commit to a weekly game, commit to a weekly game.

2- No rules lawyers. I'll be the first to admit, I do not memorize each and every rule in the book. In some instances, I actually prefer 1st edition rules (such as an invisibility spell effect lasting until you commit a violent action), or even v3/3.5 with regards to armor penalties when swimming etc. In general, I look to make the GAME and the STORY fun, and memorable. If this is what you are looking for, EXCELLENT...email me...if you're more interested in something akin to a game of chess where it is YOU the gamer vs ME the DM...please don't email...

In a nutshell, if you feel a ruling was unfair, I am more than willing to discuss it, and be flexible. However, if it is a five minute or longer discussion, particularly during the middle of a combat, I'd prefer it wait until afterwards.

I also have a number of things I blatantly do differently. For instance, mortals by and large DO NOT have an alignment....only immortals and creatures that are truly through and through evil or good. So, be prepared. I do my best to prepare everyone for all of this before character creation, so you don't get an idea to run with, and then find your world fall out from under you as a result.

3- Be a fun person!

Those of you in Kirth's group in Houston, may recall a bit of frustration I had being the least artistically inclined member of the group, and thus I rarely filled out the character sketch box on our character sheets.

There's a new company called Hero Forge that was Kickstarted that will 3D print miniatures, and they have an online designer for the minis. Just for fun, I used it to whip up Agun.

Due to a limit of options, he's not exactly what Agun looked like. Agun has a long vest with lots of pockets, but the best I could do here is a western-themed duster. And there's no cigar option, alas. But thematically, I'm pretty happy with him!

Scarab Sages

Hopefully H-town folks went to OwlCon last weekend.

Liberty's Edge

That was last weekend? Huh. Ever since they hired Frost v.2.0 to run FPS, my convention volunteering desire has dropped to close to zero.

Scarab Sages

There is always MagCon in April.

Liberty's Edge

Like I said, I am done with Pathfinder Society. I might pop in and see if there are any 5e games at Comicpalooza, but that's the earliest I see myself looking at a convention. I'm done with PFS completely.

But, on a happier note, Kirth is moving back, so maybe I'll get a regular game going again.

Ima go ahead an borrow this post, I live in Spring, I don't have a car atm but am going to be getting one soon. I work full-time at Domino's so Fridays and Saturdays are definite no-go's for me. I am looking to try to apply @ Fat Ogre (in the woodlands if anybody knows of it). It's a comic book store that is also heavy-RPG, especially 40k.
Regardless of whether I get a job there, I can probably make Sundays after 5.

Is there anybody else available for this time?

Live near town and country.

I have a car.

Let's do this.

For people more NW who prefer a more "crunchy" approach, I'm in Bear Creek Village and would potentially be very interested in running a "Kirthfinder" game. I'd also be willing to play or run 5e, if that's what people fancy.

Liberty's Edge

I have the core set (plus a, for you pointless, DM screen), so I'm ready for some 5e. I'm pretty much burned out on all things 3e based right now, to be honest, and even less interested in anything based off of Pathfinder.

Understandable and laudatory. I mostly use Kirthfinder to scratch that mechanical itch, but to just roll up characters and play, 5e is a lot better.

Scarab Sages

For NE folks Kingswood gaming Meetup

Also don't miss out on Comicpalooza this weekend!

Only NE? But what about LE or CE? :P

Liberty's Edge

I'll be working the vendor area Saturday morning/afternoon if anyone wants to stop by. I'll be at one of the tee shirt tables.

I'm going to borrow this thread for a moment to see about finding another player or two for my group's campaigns. We play in NW Houston in the Beltway 8/290 area every other Saturday with June 6th being our next game). We usually start around 2pm ish and run til 10ish and usually grill up some lunch before the session. The group have been together for 15+ years and we're looking for some more people to join our little group (4 people with 2 of us alternating DMing duty for different campaigns.) We're just starting book 2 of Rise of the Runelords as well as working on a homebrew campaign.

I hope all gamers in Houston are alright.

HD, that means you too.

Liberty's Edge

I'm alive. :-)

Ok, this is just for people I know. If I don't know you, the answer is "no". No exceptions.

I'm trying to start a 5e game, and I have two or three players so far, so if you're interested, let me know.

Where are you guys meeting? If it's near Hobby, I gotta bow out.

Liberty's Edge

That's TBD. And, I used to trek to Westchase from Montrose, that place was way less highly accessible than my place. I'm fifteen-twenty minutes on 10 and 45 from the beltway ;-)

houstonderek wrote:

Dude, my place to yours, before, was 20 minutes, tops (remember, we started off at your place). Compare that to 40 minutes on the beltway + the 15-20 you cite. And I didn't have a dependent larva back then!

Liberty's Edge

I thought you were just north of I-10, not halfway to Tomball! ;-)

North of West Houston Airport, anyway.

Weekends, I-10 east is a parking lot -- I move faster on the feeder. And the I-10/I-45 interchanges are all jacked up with detours and delays and whatnot.

Then again, it's still a hell of a lot better than I-376 W through Pittsburgh, any day at all.

You all speak craziness.

Liberty's Edge

Freehold, my county is bigger than Rhode Island.

Liberty's Edge

And Erik is exaggerating, I think. I take 1-10 east from Eldridge every weekend coming back from my mom's, and it takes me about fifteen minutes to get to Telephone and I-45.
